So, I'm just gonna say this to you shubshub. No rudeness intended, but as a working developer here in the Drawing Board myself, there are a few things that you should have.

1. A plot -- It gives your players (or potential players I suppose) a REASON to want to play your game. Without it, who really cares? I mean, most of the REAL games reuse the same plot which most of us still find to be alright, but without that I doubt many/any of us would even PLAY the series anymore. So that's the MAIN thing you should work on. Period. Dot. End of sentence.

2. As they said, making two games is DEFINITELY tough. I mean, I'm doing that myself, but the manner in which I'm doing it and you're doing it is completely different. You see, without the plot you can't really even split the games because there is no point in doing so. In the original Ruby/Sapphire you had the plot in which Magma and Aqua each wanted to catch the legendary. BAM! Done. Without that, you have no reason to have two games. Even in my own game, you have my teams Eternal Autumn and Forgotten Spring wanting X and Y because of the plot of my game; it's nothing new.

3. If I may suggest, before you even START (which I'm assuming you have yet to do since you've said you'd start several times in the thread... yet have not after any of them) you may want to just first think out the gameplay (returning to PLOT). Will you be able to play as either Male or Female? What will their relationship be to the rival? Will there even BE a rival? Age? Goals? What about their background before starting the journey? [Of course, for me personally my playwrighting background helps with this; but regardless, you should KNOW your game before you START your game).

4. Reasons. There should ALWAYS and WITHOUT FAIL be a reason for why everything happens the way it does. Why a Mystery Dungeon status quest to retrieve who-knows-what? Is there really any reason why you can't just make it a three level cave that is just large and complex? I don't see why it has to BE so complex. Of course, this isn't my call as you can do whatever you feel like doing, but EVERYTHING should have a reason (even the reason to why certain pokemon can only be obtained in each game. Ie: Vulpix and Growlithe can't be obtained in the same game (for most gens) because their lines are Similar in that they are Fire-type Canines with good stats, and they each evolve in the same manner. Plusle and Minun are another example.

So that said, before you can actually start your Game i suggest you take this all into consideration. Everything that's been said in this thread was not to ATTACK you until you started reiterating and ignoring those who WANTED to help. It was all to HELP you, whether you choose to accept it or not is not my problem, nor is it anyone elses. We are just making suggestions as fellow developers, gamers, or whatever the rest of us are.

And as a side-note; telling people not to post in a thread because "they don't know what its about" isn't the greatest idea considering that's why makes going into a thread interesting >> Finding out what it's about.

Furthermore >> those aren't sprites.

EDIT: And that would be exactly what I meant by ignoring ^^

Well one, what on Earth would it seem logical to you to have such a messed up Pokdex, with legendaries in the beginning, and evolutions, like Blastoise missing their other evolution?

Two, if you think that the artwork you posted above are sprites, then you don't know what a sprite is.

EDIT: They are Sprites Idiot There Not Ice Cubes Are They

Hahahahaha. ^^ Okay, I'm just going to give you a few grammar tips for your "game" using this quote.

Capitalization:
Only to be used at the beginning of a section, in a title, sentence, or proper nouns such as "David" and does not need to be added to every word.

Punctuation:
A period ends a statement.
An exclamation point ends an exclamation.
A question mark ends a question.

There, Their, They're:
There represents a location.
Their represents "belonging to a group of persons."
They're represents the conjunction of the words "they are."

So, if you properly wanted to use the above statement I suggest you rewrite it as:
They are sprites, Idiot. They're not ice cubes, are they?
Because otherwise, I can't even bother to take you seriously. ^^

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention. If you want to see what a SPRITE is, how about I demonstrate for you?
[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon PureMagma And Pokemon DeepSea

Those are sprites.
[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon PureMagma And Pokemon DeepSea

That is a sprite.
[PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon PureMagma And Pokemon DeepSea

This, while more complex, is a sprite.

EDIT2: Oh, and furthermore, those sprites that I've displayed for you are BATTLE sprites. :) Just for clarification.

You should definately cut back on the capital letters. You only need them for then beginnings of sentences and names, not every word 0.o

This game... I don't understand. Those 'battle sprites' are waaaaay too big to be battle sprites. And is there a plotline other than catching legendaries?

Let me offer a few suggestions:

First, try to think about what would make a fun, playable game. What I see here is not so much fun and playable as it is cool. I would recommend that you try to come up with something a bit less ambitious as well, but that might just be me. (And by that I mean that, even if the games will be mostly the same, you're setting yourself up for a lot more work than you need to)

Second, those title screens aren't exactly the best I've seen. They are filled with jpeg artifacts, and they use images that probably do not reflect the games in any way, aside from being related to their title pokemon. Now, I'm not saying that you shouldn't try to make the title screen cool, I'm just saying that you would probably be better off making them with a method other than adding text to an image using MS Paint, then saving it as a .jpg file. (I personally recommend a .png file, since it will look as good as a bitmap while taking up far less space)

Third, it looks as though you aren't really operating on any kind of plot. Now, knowing Pokemon games, this isn't necessarily a bad thing, but you're setting the games up like the standard pokemon RPGs, instead of setting them up as something like the Stadium games, Pokemon Snap, or one of the other entertaining and plot-free side games.

Overall, I think you may be rushing into this blind. Try to start the game, get some work done, and see what you can and can't do. If you have a significant portion of the game done, and the rest looks easy, then I commend you. If you have yet to start, let me warn you: games are not easy to make. No matter what the companies that make software like Game Maker or RPG Maker claim, a lot of time, hard work, and thought go into a game, far more than most people realize. The only reason I know this is because I have tried on many occasions to get into building a game, only to be slowed, then stopped, by the sheer work involved.

I'm just playing devil's advocate here, but those battle sprites can indeed be battle sprites. You're all assuming he wants to use the same tiny screen resolution as the official games (if he does, yes, they're too big). I noticed he's using Game Maker, so he might be planning to use a much bigger screen.

It seems unlikely, though, given the vast lack of thought that has gone into this game.

New Items (Yay)
Listed Below (Well Duh)
New HM Set:
HM01: Morph
Where To Get - Given To You Near Start Of Game
Description - Allows Pokemon To Morph Into Different Things Other Than Pokemon
Which Pokemon Can Learn This Move: Ditto

HM02: AirBubble (DeepSea Version Only)
Where To Get - Given To You When You When You Go To DeepSea Town

HM02: HeatSheild (PureMagma Version Only)
Where To Get - Given To You When You Go To Magma Town

HM03: TimeTravel
Where To Get - Given To You By Celebi At Hidden Forest (Act 1)
Act 1 - Forest Gets Burned Down By Groudon (PureMagma Version)
Act 1 - Forest Gets Flooded By Kyogre (DeepSea Version)

HM0?: SuperDive
Where To Get - Gift: Show Heatran To Man In Hidden Area
I fail to see the point of Morph (HMs should be usable by many Pokémon, not just one). What items can Ditto turn into?

I'm not sure how SuperDive is related to showing someone a Heatran. And given a recent discussion elsewhere about multiple layers of diving, I'd say this is one of those ideas added for the sake of having it rather than thinking it through.

As others have said, my suggestion would be to go away and come up with a strong coherent plot. Do it for just one of your games, because it'll just be easier (if you must have several versions of the game, you can just make a few tweaks after completing it, rather than go through the whole process trying to make all of them at once). Not to mention the multiple versions of Pokémon games only exists in the first place because Nintendo like the "one game for the price of two" idea, and because they're the official games so everyone will buy them - there's absolutely no reason people will play two versions of the same fangame - most won't even bother with one of them, even if they'd heard about it.

Dude, no offense but you REALLY need to start listening to what everyone is saying. Because, I woul play any game, give props o any game but this....this is just terrible...You really need to stop being stubborn because you really arent doing anything...I mean, You seem like more of a sketch artist if anything because those title screens suck.....Okay now on to my questions, which you really should answer so we can evaluate you and you can re-evaluate yourself.
1:What format is this in?
2:How good are you in this format?
3:Can you map or have made a region map?
4:Can you script?
5:Do you know that people are really trying to help you and not bring you down?Because i see more than adequate suggestions.Dude...Youre a kid,we can tell,so stop being one if you want to make a game or just quit altogether...Again No offense.

this is the most hilarious thread ever XDD

but on the off chance that it's serious, wow. dude, you might want to start listening to some of the advice you're being given here. do your games even have a plot? what about main characters? and omg please stop Typing Like This, surely it's just as annoying for you to type as it is for us to read.

Allow me to critique your dex

001: Groudon
002: Kyogre
003: Rayqauza (Must Seen)
004: Missingo (Has New Sprite)
005: Blastoise
006: Misbivi (Evolved Form Of Missingo)
007 Through to 157 All kanto Pokemon (Excluding Blastoise)
158: Heatran
159 Through to 200 Most Sinnoh Pokemon

Alright. Let's begin. So first off, the beginning of most pokedexes [official and fanmade] usually start with a grass starter, followed by its evolutions, then a fire starter and its evolutions, and then a water starter with its evolutions. Of course, you may feel free to break the norm, as I dont think you plan to have the game start with starter pokemon.

But for God sakes, man, dont start with legendaries. They're meant for the end of the dex because they're supposed to be awesome and feared and stuff. So fine, you start with Groudon and Kyogre. Now, the last time I saw Groudon and Kyogre based games, they were at the back of the dex. So keep that in mind if you want those two to be the focal point/legendaries, put 'em in the back.

Also, Rayquaza. You have him 3rd in the dex, but you say that he is unobtainable...what's the point of having it in the dex then?! I mean, people usually like to fill their dexes with pokemon owned, but if you can never own rayquaza [because trading is impossible outside of the official/rom hack games] then why have it in the dex? Its just pointless!

Onto Missigno. Ok. I've seen this before, and I'm not going to criticize. Putting Missingno into a dex is a cool thing. But in all seriousness, if you're going to give it an evolution [which has a weird name, btw], then put it directly after! That's how evolution lines work. Don't randomly throw in Blastoise.

...I honestly have to say I have no real hope for this game. I suggest starting over, perhaps with a more canon-like game.

Hope this helps!

Normally I try to be moderate and calm with threads like this; blankly inform the person that his progress is subpar, and tell him how to improve his game or idea to make it more accessible and more interesting.

In this case however, I've encountered a thread of such epic fail that I can't really begin to describe what's wrong with it. I apologise if I offend you shubshub, but given your retorts throughout the thread I presume you're resilient, aggressive and perhaps even ignorant enough to shrug off whatever I say.

"Made in Game Maker"? Excuse my impoliteness, but given your inability to accept critique, write a basic plot or even form a coherent sentence, I seriously doubt you'll be able to achieve anything resembling a Pokemon game in a program which is generally considered to be one of the more difficult game development tools out there.

Kid, listen, I really hate writing this, and I know I sound like a real prude, but your game sucks. You can choose not to listen to us, sure; after all it is your game, as you pointed out. If you do that, however, then what's the point of posting a thread in a public forum about it?

I could not agree more.

Listen, I've said all I have to say. Other people have said the rest for me. The pokedex, the HMs that can only be used by one pokemon, the "sprites," the lack of a story or a coherent sentence...I can't say anything else.

What I will say is this: so far you have accepted no criticism. Its as if you just posted your "idea" and said "Everyone will bow down to it. I will not allow constructive criticism." If thats the case, then just take down this thread. Cause no matter how good your game is, you always need to get constructive crit. And if you won't listen to anyone, there is no point in creating this thread.

KingCharizards right about this. Im with him, this game is an EPIC FAIL!!!

Wow...I thought I was going to see a semi-well developed Ruby and Sapphire remake idea and instead I find...this. What exactly is the point of these games? From the brief and open-ended plot, I take it that Ruby/Sapphire caught fake Groudon/Kyogre in RSE, okay. But, what the hell is the point in telling us where Rayquaza is if we even get it?! Is your job to capture Groudon or Kyogre to prevent catastrophe from affecting X reigon or something? Also, what are Plakia and Heatran doing here?!

Ok Just so You Know
Its Not Like a Normal Pokemon Games
Its More Of A Pokemon Ranger Style

Hmmm... So what are you making the game with? What or who's engine are you using too make it Pokemon Ranger style? Do you even have a story? Do you even have any resources? Do you even have the skills to make anything you'd need? Is this a real game, because it doesn't seem like one?
