    Hi,
do the pokemon series on the gba have the same problem like g/s/c in that the internal battery runs out?

    thanks

Considering that GBA Game Paks use battery back-up, I'd imagine they're going to "die" on you eventually (my recommendation? Get a GameShark/Action Replay with the USB port on the side, and backup your saves!).
Though, I've heard the Metal Generation had a higher rate of battery failure than most other battery back-up games. [shrugs]

Yes it is possible for the internal battery in Sapphire to run dry according to this site. To fix it you need to send it to Nintendo to get the battery replaced.

can u replace the battery with another's game battery

I'm sure you can replace the battery with another games battery, but good luck to you!

What does the internal battery dying mean, anyway? What does it prohibit you from doing?

Which means......? I had a pokemon sapphire that had a dry internal battery, and I couldn't find anything wrong. Does it have something to do with berry trees?

Also day and night in Emerald. Tjose don't work if the battery has run dry . . .

Hmm, so the internal battery running out only effects time related feutures, but for some reoson the pokemon silver I have won't hold it save, I thought this problem could be solved by these memory card things that I beleive I saw in a magazine once, where you could start multiple journeys and save it to the cart but it won't help with the time feutures...

The G/S/C and R/S/E cartridges save their files differently, each dependant to its own system as they changed due to the differences in GBC and GBA carts. IIRC, G/S/C used the battery to hold its save file or something along those lines, while R/S/E's save files were saved in a separate part of the cart, allowing you to save but rendering the time based events useless due to the lack of battery power to supply the clock.

Think of GBA games like those handy flash/thumb drives that need no power to maintain a save. Power is only needed to read it.

Whereas GSC games are essentially RAM like in your computer. As long as the power is there, the information is available.

Motherboards actually have batteries on them, this keeps the clock alive and is the reason why your time is usually correct when you turn your PC on, even if the power is off.

The XBox doesn't have one of these :(
