Is anyone stoked about the new monthly updates that will probably be this week? I sure as heck am. I've been constantly checking forums to see if anyone has posted links.

The 3DS would've been the next step for the Pokedex, but that thing looks way clunky than the DS lite or DSi. That wouldn't have been an obstacle in any case, but at least have the similar form factor as a 3DS.

I read that the Pokedexes are usually shaped like or resemble the console the game is played on. For example, the Generation I Pokedex looks like a GameBoy Color.

Hello, everyone! I do believe that I'm new to this group, but rest assured I do know a lot about Adventures!

All right, before I say anything, I'm actually not a regular reader of the manga, mostly because it isn't released where I live/is too expensive for me to buy, so all the reading I have done of it I have done via scanlations. As well, I have mostly skipped certain arcs and parts without reading them, and simply read the plot synopsis of those parts -- so I won't know exactly what you guys are talking about some of the time, lol. Rest assured, though, I am genuinely interested in the whole club and manga although I haven't read all of it (and I haven't read anything past Volume 32).

With that being said, I'm going to answer the questions that another member previously answered, lol.

1. Who is your favorite character in the manga?
Red. No one else even comes close. I kinda like Green (male), too. Gold is also awesome, and I really like Kris, even if she is mostly a side character.

2. Favorite pairing?
Red x Green (male), closely followed by Ruby x Sapphire. I elaborated on why I like it in the pairing discussion thread, if you're curious.

3. Favorite arc (so far)?
FR/LG.

4. Any fond memories of the manga?
Mostly my avatar. ;D That and right before that lady makes them battle each other in the FR/LG arc. I also liked any Ruby x Sapphire moments back when I was reading that arc, and the league battle between Red and Green.

Anyway, I might just be a lurker in here, but ya know, consider me a member! XD

It is now October, where many freaky things happen up until the day when the witches come out to play~ Halloween.

NEW INFO ON HG/SS arc!

Once again, Kusaka and Yamamoto have not dissapointed.

-OH NOEESS! ARCHER HAS CAPTURED ARCEUS!!! ;A;
- and now he's being and ass and forced Arceus to make a Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina for him. ._. HE'S CHEATING! Now it's God, Time Pony, Space pen- Pink, and Dragon Centipede Vs. Gold and friends. ;A;.

-And now for some reason it jumps to some part with Gold Vs. Arceus again, but this time, sexy Lance is there too! oAo and he doesn't look ok.
- Oh Poor Togetaro. Gold has withdrawn him and kept him out of the fight. ;A; Poor poor baby.

And now. for something new and fresh~
Black and White arc!
-Well, I think this is a scene in Prof. Aragi's lab. For some reason, Tsuarja, Pokabu, and Mijumaru are fighting.

-Later in some city (I think it's Huin City), a Zoura is attacking or something, and Pokabu is after it.
-Poka (Black's Pokabu) spots Zoura and it attacks him.

DS, DSi were the Sinnoh Pokedexes. This Pokedex is inconsistent. That's all I have to say. Unless we actually see the connectivity to the older games, then I'd reverse my judgement.

LANCE!!! HOLY S**T HE LOOKS EPIC WHEN HE'S OLDER *clears throat* Now I know for sure something good's gonna happen to Togetaro. Seeing it all upset like this...

Tsujara's always the sly one. Pokabu's the cuter one, and Mijumaru's another Piplup. That's how I see it.

I asked one of my friends to translate the specific text with Togetaro in it. My friend couldn't translate one word, but it went something like Togetaro is missing [word], more than ever now. I suspect it could probably do something with friendship? Or trust? Because Togetaro needs something it to evolve. And last time, it walked out because Gold paid too much attention to Aipom evolving

Furthermore, WHAT THE HELL. I deduced that since the manga followed the game story line somewhat closely, I FREAKING KNEW the Sinjoh ruins had something to do with the plotline. I even suggested to another forum that Cynthia would show up. How the hell did I NOT realize that Arceus -> 3 dragons of Sinnoh. Arrghhh it was right in front of my eyes. I deduced EVERYTHING except for that tidbit. Currently disappointed in my deducing abilities.

Well, according to Coronis' summaries, Togetaro becomes a Togekiss, thanks to Lance. Sadly, this means we hardly get to see a Togetic....

Oh god, now they really need Red and Green to save them.....unless Archer forgot the rare candies and they're stuck at lv.1....

Or is Giovanni going to stop him? "Oi, Archer! If you wreck everything, who're we meant to rob?" hehe.

Or Arceus actually made one each for Gold/Silver/Crys.. or Dia/Pearl/Platina

Or, a final theory from me involves Togetaro's abilities:

Togepi - pseudo-legendary killer (Tyranitar and Dragonite)
Togetic - legendary killer (Dialga, Palkia, Giratina)
Togekiss - god killer (Arceus)

Obviously that could be wrong if Togetaro is actually just going to be Lance's rival xD

Lance looks a lot older.... In Yellow Arc, he was probably about 21 years old, (due to Viridian Power time gap thing), so he's, what? 28 now? He looks older than that in the picture to me.... Anyways, I liked the Pokabu in the B/W arc pictures, too! Pokabu looks like he'll be kind of funny. =D

Yeah, I think he's about 28 right now or something...or 27. (In the Yellow arc, Yellow as about 11 years old while Lance was probably 21, so if according to the age difference where Yellow is now 17...then that means Lance should be 27.)

Oh guys, more spoilers, and some possibly sensitive topics.. *In Spoilers plz*

Coronis has posted up some summaries and stuff for the HG/SS arc and the B/W arc

Well, it has alot of content from the month before...
-Gold visiting the Kimono girls.
-He meets up with Morty sometime after Aitaro evolves, and Morty shows him an image of the Ruins of Alph.
-Silver meets up with Gold, and Gold looks happy to see him (ewe the pic is kinda funny)
-Crystal apparently threw the Level Ball first to test out Arceus' power, then she ALMOST catches him in a Heavy Ball (good call Crys), but it breaks out. (Stupid cheap Level balls. ono )
-Crystal notices that Arceus looks sad or something. (Someone has upset god or something)
-The authors decide to really rush a bunch of stuff by making Silver find the other plates in less than 2 pages by having Weavile leave scratch marks on trees to make other Sneasel and Weavile find the plates.
-Lance is in the ruins of Alph, all injured and says that to connect to arceus, someone must have a good heart, and he doesn't think that Gold has one since Togepi has not evolved. He gives Togetaro a Shiny Stone.
-Something happens, but the plot seems to be so inconsistent at this point. Somehow, Gold is able to make Togetaro evolve and it evolves straight into Togekiss after wards.
-Gold, Silver, Crys, and the 4 Team Rocket people are teleported to the Sinjoh ruins.
-Team Rocket captures Arceus and forces it to make a Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina.

BW Arc.
-Ok, this is kinda weird. Prof. Aragi is just talking to the starters and is hoping that the trainers that will come by the next day will like them.
-The starters get into a fight, and Prof. Aragi wonders if the trainers will be able to handle them.
-It skips to a future chapter where the male Protagonist (no name given yet, so I guess I'll just call him Black for now, like everyone else) is in a city with Pokabu.
-He meets and lost boy and lets Pokabu take care of him while he gets help. Turns out that the boy is a Zoura and Pokabu chases after it.

...yeah.

Anyway, with this, something is seriously troubling me about all this plot stuff this month. And I'm sure most of you already noticed.

It seems like Kusaka and Yamamoto seem VERY stressed out about catching up with the BW hype. Here is something that Coronis posted up about the topic:


"Ok, so the BW series is commencing, not only in Pokemon Fan, but will be in the next Grade 4 and Ichiban as well. I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling disgruntled that the writers are creating such a big mess in their manga. It seems to me that Kusaka is losing his grip in controlling the pace of his series. DP was a prime example of how things were severely dragged out in the beginning, and severely rushed at the end (the same can actually be said about the Emerald series). We still don't know how complete the magazine version of DP is, and I seriously hope that the Platinum series isn't going to finish in an extra 2-3 Chapters in the volume version. Heck we haven't even seen Giratina yet, let alone Darkrai, Shaymin, Manaphy, a proper debut of Regigigas, and a myriad of human characters including the Elite 4 and Bebe.

This issue's Ichiban (where Togetaro evolves) is actually labelled as the final chapter of the HGSS serializing in this magazine. I haven't gotten Grade 4's November issue, but I'm sure it's the last one there too. So much for all the hypothesis and expectations, it just feels like an inconsequential 'showcase all the new characters and places' series to me. Lance's ambush by Petrel was played down, Silver collecting the 13 Plates was minimized to 2 pages, and we don't know why the God of Creation was easily chained down by some ordinary Pokemon who couldn't stand up against Rhyperior's Earth Power.

Did I mention the stupid branch off end in Ichiban at the Ruins of Alph where Arceus just flies off and Gold just goes home? Confusing enough that Gold's quest at the Pokeathlon couldn't really be pieced together since he's shown to be with the Elite 4 the whole time in one magazine and yet in another magazine he was with DJ Mary and won all 5 medals. (for this reason, forgive me that I am still unable to write the summary for these chapters since they make no sense chronologically)

Anyway, I'm just feeling a rapid decline in quality of PokeSpecial after having followed it loyally for so many years. The writers are trying too hard, too much at one time. Aspiring too much, but not having the capacity to complete what they have started. Putting up too much suspense, but not living up to the expectation. I admit that as fans, our expectations are getting higher and higher, especially when the games have become more 'Special' like over the years, if you know what I mean. I'm not looking for unexpected twists in Special anymore, just hoping for proper ends to each series."

It seems that Coronis has finally said something that alot of fans were afraid of: the decline of Pokemon Special. (; A ; )

What do you guys think?
(I still love this manga to bits, but I worry about the future of this manga. D: )

About what Coronis says, he probably is right. I feel like this happens with everything, though. The longer things go on, the less interesting/exciting. Well, something along those lines. They're making all this stuff so much faster now, they seem to be confusing themselves, huh? xD

I hope the series starts to go downhill, though. It's too good for that!

Ahh...yes, well, I read Coronis' summaries of D/P, and that final battle seemed a bit...short and anti-climatic. So did Volkner vs. Platina (I felt Candice was appropriately a short battle as her pokemon are fairly weak, tbh). If you ask me, the best bit will be Cynthia vs. Cyrus. Although I'm hoping they'll bring along Volume 37, which will wrap up D/P arc, and start off Platinum (why's she interested in the Torn World???).

Oh, good lord, this plot for Special is worse than that of Kingdom Hearts'. And that's saying something. Everything's so...tangled. Wow.

Did...did they actually use the 'creation of three gods' plot device? Oh, my. I sense a battle royale coming up.

I thought the reason Arceus had 'sorrow' in its eyes was because it's missing parts of itself. Dunno if that makes any sense.

In-game, Togepi evolves into Togetic at max friendship, I think. It needs a Light Stone to evolve into Togekiss, which is why Lance gave it to Gold (how he knew this when Gold himself couldn't figure out how to evolve Togetaro, I have no idea). From what I understand, Gold always put Togetaro in reserve and never considered him a full member of this team (which is borderline character derailment for me), so Togetaro didn't bond with him and couldn't evolve. Yeah.

And is there any reason why Jasmine came up in the conversation other than for ship tease? Because I read the summary and it just came out...random.

I'm not putting anything to record until the volumes come out, because that will be the printed, last chance that the writers will have to try and redirect/reconnect the dots before the series falls into disarray. After loving this manga for years, I'd hate for it to fall so badly. They'll either initiate a massively awesome comeback or it'll fail stupendously and Pokespe will be ushered into discontinuity.

It's not really that the series lasted so long. It's more along the lines of that they are now trying to hard to catch up. (You can see a few signs of this in the Emerald arc and the beginning of the D/P arc.)

the plot seems to have gone into a shredder and the authors attempted to stick them back together.
And Gold's weird "idk how to evolve my togepi that I never use" thing really does seem kinda out of character for him.

Oh dear, please don't let the manga end this way. ;A;.
I want it to continue, but only if the authors start getting the act together.
In a way, we can blame ourselves for having very high expectations.

Quite frankly, I think everyone's hyping the "OMFG THE END OF THE POKESPECIAL IS HERE. IT"S THE FIRST SIGNS OF THE APOCALYPSE/ANTI CHRIST/RULE OF SCIENTOLOGY/REIGN OF FEMINISM." I look at the posts after Coronis and everyone's suddenly all emo about it, just because one person offered their opinion on the future of pokemon special when the conclusion or even other parts of HGSS have not been revealed. I feel that there is GREAT potential for the final battle at the end. Look at the whole backdrop story: it's all about connection between the trainer and pokemon, a device that never gets old. I think everyone should get off Coronis' dick, and get their own opinions quite frankly. I think everyone just looks at Coronis as the all powerful authority figure of the pokemon special (which I'm not disputing), but one of the more idiotic logical fallacy is relying on the authority figure for true knowledge. We all know that the generals are now creating the 3 dragons of Sinnoh. It's now time for an epic battle, and more character development that was happening (rather rapidly and hastily previous I admit). I have faith in the writers; I believe they're gonna write the finale well.
