This thread is to tell why you like pokemon and how did you get into the interest of Pokemon.

When i had been watching TV, flicking through channels, i found pokemon. I kept watching and it seemed quite interesting. SO i started to get into it more, and then i luckily found POKECOMMUNITY!

I was 5 or so and in the mail this VHS about "Pokemon" was in it, I was all confused so I watched it and fell in love with Pokemon. I got Red & Blue and thus my Pokemon love began.

Also to mention WHY I like Pokemon, there really isn't just ONE reason..I grew up with it, I've always liked it. It's something you just get addicted to.

The early previews in Nintendo Power are pretty much what got me hooked for life.

I found a Jigglipuff pokémon card on the pavement once, I was about five, I thought it looked quite interesting so I got more of the cards and gradually my parents brought me more and more of the stuff, the second thing i got was a limited Pikachu GBC and N64. And then it began. So i've got the cards to thank, and I have now got a very successful pokédeck as well. Lol.

When I first came to America, I was extremely confused with all the new things, then, Pokémon appeared in my face.

It got me hooked, and now here I am.

I was born before pokemon even came out, and was six or so when it came out, and at that age pretty much anything can interest you, but I had always loved monsters and stuff, so I was immediately hooked. Got Red and Blue, and then when Yellow came out I though it was the coolest thing in the world because Pikachu followed you. Only thing that pissed me off was that you couldn't evolve Pikachu, but I understood the reasons. The shows... god I loved the shows and movies, but now a days I don't like them that much. There just isn't that spark or that thing that really brings out emotion or teaches us about life lessons or such things.

Like Pokemon 1 and 2. Man, I remember being so excited for the first movie and second movie...

My brother was a huge fan and so I had a little bit of merchandise as a very young child, but I never really got into it until my best friend got me playing Pokémon Sapphire many years later.

I found out about it when I was watching Saturday morning kid's TV, and the anime came on, the episode where Ash got Charmander, and I loved it, I thought those Pokemon things were awesome. Then I borrowed Red from my friend, and I was hooked.

Because I liek mudkips! My mom just bought me Blue (which I later swapped with my brother for red because it had Charizard on the front *shot'd*) and then went on from there. I got Yellow, then Silver, then Crystal, Sapphire, FireRed, Emerald, Diamond and will get Platinum (once it comes out in Europe.) Why do I like Pokemon? I guess it's because I was brought up with it, and it is a fun and addicting game which any age shouldcan play. Also, it has teh Mudkips!!!1111

It was the popular thing when I was in early Elementary school. Everyone played/watched/collected.

And I 'd my Red Version.

I bought the game or should I say mom did when it came out in 98'. Ever since then I've been a fan. I thought I'd grow out of it eventually, but apparently I haven't.

Ditto (As in 'same here', not the Pokémon lulz). It was the craze of the time, I was hooked on the TV show and everyone at school was going mental about the cards and the games so I eventually got Blue version bought for me and i've been hooked since really.

And for the record I prefer Blue version and never wanted to swap it for red. Hah.

I ♥ threads like these. Totally giving some positive reputation to you, thread maker.

In other news, my love and fascination of Pokémon began more than a decade ago, when I was at my cousin's house. I was three or four years of age, and therefore didn't understand anything at all, but my cousin's gameboy intrigued me. Well, not so much the gameboy as the fact that whenever I looked at him, he was playing the same game. So I asked him what it was, he told me it was Pokémon (I couldn't pronounce it properly back then, much to my embarrassment). He gave me a go, and I've been hooked on it ever since.

Why? It's fun and it's addicting. Mostly because it's fun though.

Basically...meh. It was ten years ago, and i really do not know the details. But.

Iv grown up with it. Everyone has. Pokemon is like a reminder of my childhood. That is why i still play.

I started loving it way back then when I watched the Pokemon anime, in otherwords, back when 4Kids Entertainment wasn't power hungry

I couldn't stop laughing at the first few episodes, so I kept on watching it

Then I came across the game, Yellow version, the gameplay was excellent, and keep at it, but after I beated it, it wasn't good enough to reach the 'high levels'

Then I came across the cards, I started at it for a while, the it was all over became the computer absorbed my mind

Neopets --> Gaia Online --> Gunbound --> Forums

And that's my life story currently :P

When I was a kid, I liked anime and as I started getting older, I started playing the games and eventually I quit when I reached High School.
When Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald came out, I started playing again this time using strategy instead of just using brute force like I used to. Then I started using Advanced Map and modifying my emerald version to make new areas with new pokemon (still in training though).
I enjoy using Advanced Map, it shows me how the game was made (I'm studying computer science) and I have a fascination on the creation of most games.

My views are summed up in the bolded part of your post, good sir.

The first time I had seen Pokemon was in a Domino's commercial that promoted them about the time of the game's release. I honestly thought that they looked stupid. Then I happened to see the cartoon one saturday morning on KidsWB with my friend and we both fell in love with it. He didn't have a GameBoy until he got a GBA, so he didn't start the games until his Ruby Version, but I had a Limited Edition Ice Blue GameBoy Pocket, so I had asked for Pokemon Blue Version, because you could catch a Meowth in that version. I was hooked after that. I've gotten at least one in each generation since. I got Yellow, since I loved the anime, Silver, because I prefer the color to Gold and Lugia to Ho-oh, Crystal because of the female trainer option, Sapphire, because I like blue more and my friend got Ruby, then LeafGreen, my fav. color is green, its counterpart is Blue, and my character's name, Leaf, and my rival's name, Green, make up the version of the game, then Emerald, Afterwards I got Pearl, because my best friend and my brother both got Diamond. Soon I'll be getting Platinum. As such, I have, through coinsidence, gotten the second of each pair released thus far.
