Well, I'm prepped and ready for SoulSilver on the 26th (in the UK). I've done my research into starter types and what I need for my first team. I've got Pokemon caught and ready for transfer in D/P and Platinum. I've downloaded maps and walkthrus and dusted off my old Gold-Silver game guides. I'm better prepared for this new realease than any before. How much pre-game preparation have you done/did?

lol apparrently not more than you :D
actually i didnt prepare at all ... i should have though.

I figured out how I was going to play through three months of a Japanese ROM lol

I'm going to beat the game with:

    Chikorita
    Eevee
    Mareep
    Natu
    Vulpix
    Dratini

and an HM Slave, if necessary lol

    Wish me luck rofl :P

Only real prep I did was read like every section on Serebii to get a sense of what the game was like.

    a lot of research ..
read every section on serebii and bulbapedia...decided ma team and strategy long before and memorized each leader's team....guess i did a lott for a game

I read through Serebii's coverage of the games, and I went back and played through a bit of Gold. Then I got bored and started cheating. It was not a lot of preparation though.

Well, I went through agonising deliberation to choose my team before hand. Never done that before. :P

    Planned team:
    Meganium
    Lapras
    Espeon
    Vulpix
    Lugia
    Furret

before i got the english version (i have played the japanese version, not that fun because you can't understand anything....OTL)

i have planned anything about my team (where to find, moves, and other thing)
i have search for the most useful walktrough
and i have read every section in bulbapedia

    nuff said.

I planned my team out yesterday as i wanted to cover as many types as i can by going for mostly dual type pokemon

    my team;

    Typhlosion (Fire)
    Lanturn (Water / Electric)
    Shiftry (Grass / Dark)
    Gengar (Ghost / Poison)
    Mamoswine (Ground / Ice)
    Lugia (Psychic / Flying)

I will be trading in at least one of these pokemon (Shiftry and possibly Lanturn) from Platinum or Diamond, with my above team the only types i won't have covered are Fighting (Will teach a fighting type move to a pokemon), Rock (Teach rock type move to a pokemon), Bug (never bothered with bug types), Normal (never usually bother with normal types) and Steel (Not bothered about steel but can teach a steel type move if needed).

Now i've just got to wait for my copy of Soul Silver to arrive (ordered the US version from ebay (UK seller too) )

I think I'm ready enough. I can't believe how much preparations I went through, though O__o

Wow... The preparations I went through were...

    1. Deciding my starter (For SS atleast)
    2. Preordering HG and SS, and the Guidebook.
    3. That's it. :P

    EDIT:

Well... I did do a bit of reading on Serebii...
As well as getting a Pikachu colored Pichu, and a Jirachi.

I think I spoilt it by looking at the articles on Serebii too much.
    However,
Yeah I've got all the Pokémon I need to transfer over that aren't in SS..
    So I guess I'm alright,
    I don't need a walkthrough or anything.
Just need to.. go with the flow?
    So yeah >.>

    I have:

    1) Decided my Starter (and possibly team):

    • Typhlosion
    • Ampharos
    • Ho-Oh
    • Kingdra
    • Gengar
    • Feraligatr
    2) Pre ordered my Game (lol)
    3) That's it.
