Actually Polar, since we're already added to each other...

What are the rules for this? Are we doing 6x6 for this? Seems excessive for qualification for Gym spots.

So I defeated Charizard_Man:

MMBG-WWWW-WWW8-PMA7

Updated list with that one, and it's moved to Page 9 now, keeping up with the progress.

6 v 6, yes - because while we are going for gym leader spots, remember we're also going for whomever will be the Champion on both formats; as decided by the standard scale battles - which would require the most overall general battle expertise. The gyms will likely be 6 v 6 matches too (I'm thinking) although they'll be monotype. Still, everyone gets a chance to compete for whatever spot they like so win win :D

Alright besides Cyclone and Antebellum, who are both getting teams ready to run the battle gauntlets in the next few days - we should be able to get just about every other matchup done here. Check the list - again, at the top of this page now - for the last few people you're missing.

Anybody got a suggestion for a deadline on when we close the battling and lock results? Liiiiike - next weekend or something?

Next weekend might be too long to settle, maybe have the results by thursday and start announcing who is what friday to have everything running by Friday night/saturday.

Just a suggestion/thought. To be discussed?

I just evolved a couple I might consider for a 6-on-6 team. I really have to figure out what I feel comfortable going into battle with.

I already know I won't be the Elite Four, and at best might be that Lv.10 leader you find at the first Gym in a game. {XD}

I havent had any luck either hehe. It sure is fun! Wanna battle 2 out of 3? :D

That sounds like it could be a good idea, anyone else back this? I'm hoping anyone who's been waiting for a trade, or level up on a poke could have it done by Wednesday / Thursday this week. That sounds pretty fair and doable.

Heh well don't fret too much :P I know Adam Eternal actually used his first playthrough team for the qualifiers so far, Kalos and Kanto starters included. So coming in with six pokemon you've bred and EV trained itself should be a solid start. Just knowing type matchups and a basic knowledge of competitive is probably enough to get you in. Also, we only have.... 9? Yes; nine I think - people competing on X/Y, seven of which will get spots on the league, since we'll need 4 leaders, 2 elites, and 1 champ. Essentially, anyone who can win... 2 or 3 matches of their qualifiers right now - makes it in as at LEAST a gym leader. The most experienced competitors will be competing for that Champion spot; yes - but that's going to be the most fiercely competed for spot hands down.

And I think we're gonna do all gym battles rounded at level 50 - for aforementioned reasons :p

The temptation to use my challenge team from GC11 is there. That got me through the challenge in roughly 33 hours, including time to sleep and other stuff. First one through the challenge. I may swap out a couple of members, but they were all in their 70s.

Also, I will insist that any battles I do for this be rounded to Lv.50. I don't usually spend time getting everything to Lv.100. I have a few there, but so far they are the ones that are not EV trained or IV bred. Turns out that Blastoise isn't the strongest Squirtle the Professor could have given me, and I have a nice traded one to replace it one day (maybe after breeding another Egg Move onto it). Going into battle against Lv.100 would not be ideal and would not be a challenge for the other player.

*scratches head*

8 leaders 4 elites 1 champ?

Or is it because we dont have enough people? :(

I've explained this a few times now. :P

The league will support both X/Y, and Showdown. As such - the league is divided, so players that want to challenge it on either medium can do so, and go against qualified opponents on either platform. This may not be permanent, as right now, we don't have enough people to do a full 13 member league for both formats, so rather than sacrifice one or the other's existence, they've been combined into one league, half the size for both individual formats, a full sized league together.

Ooo, I don't know anything about this GC11 challenge, but hey - if they can throw down with other pokes, shoot. All battles WILL be rounded / set at 50 on X/Y though ^^ We're going by Normal Wifi rules for qualifiers, as we will be for Challenges once the league's started. The reasons for this have also popped up on a few previous pages in here. (don't blame you for not reading them all, it's grown quickly.)

But yes, just so everyone's on the same page, Normal Wifi ruleset means all pokemon are set to level 50, wether they're under or over-levelled.

Ohhh i forget. My bad! XD

Since its devided, when the league is complete, and we have challengers, what if some of them play in x and some in showdown? Im assuming that's why you want someone to take care of showdown after the tourney?

Haha, don't worry about it. And yes, it's expected that there will be challengers for both parts of the league, hence having them both. Either would be useless if there were no challengers. I would like someone to take over the Showdown part though, just because I have very limited knowledge and experience with it. And, I also don't really have a means of distinguishing a fair and effective setup for it. I'm just unfamiliar with it really, and don't want to bungle up that part of the league since doubtlessly it will receive a fair amount of challengers.

Beats me bro, i didnt even heard of showdown until this thread.

I should have said GT11.

But yeah, they are Champions. Not that Diantha is THAT hard...the Steelworks Chamber was harder. I picked my challenge team around Diantha's team (so that's why she was easy to defeat...). I even got a huge chuckle when I got Tyranitum down to half its strength in one hit and she had it use a OHKO recoil attack...that turned around and knocked itself out! {XD}

Heh. It's - pretty big. Personally I'm just not into it.

Heh if it works it works :P I'll tell ya right now though, I think the more winning trainers ( in the qualifying tourney that is) will all be using full teams of pokes they bred for, or got in a trade at least - that have good IV's and natures and stuff. I know myself and TGM are, and I assume Zekrom, Blue, and Charizard are as well. NOT - that you have to. :P But it's a competitive edge, and not one so scathing as to be considered unfair or over-competitive. And with the right pokes and strategy, higher pedigree mons can be overcome by normal ones anyways.

So any time frame on when you think you'll have a team ready mate? :3 Not to rush you - by all means; take yer' time. Just curious so we can get the logistics down. Time frame for finishing up all these X/Y matches and whatnot.

Woo~ first challenger ^^ Thanks mate, expect it to be organized and ready for play within a week!

(We can have this all sorted out within a week - right? I think we can)

hmm, seems interesting. would like to give it a shot as a league member... if all slots are taken up, then i'd like to sign up as a challenger instead.

utc +8, showdown only, halcyonian.
shoot can't beat antebellum and sri welp

ps: sorry, haven't really read earlier posts so im asking: must our teams be monotype/based on a specific theme or can it be mixed? also what tier and format? presumably ou singles?

I'd like to participate, I really would. However, sadly enough, it's a bit difficult to access TPC at the moment since my laptop is being held hostage by my mother, and all I have is my 3DS's browser.

The struggles of being a fifteen-year-old.

I dont have a computer!! Lol im on my galaxy s5 tho :P

Edit: I believe we can accept more people for qualifications at the moment. We got to have results by thursday.
