Leaders/E4 using Pokemon whose Megas change to a different type, yes or no?

After joking about filling out a list, I thought that it was actually not a bad idea. Here's my rough draft.

It's fine. :P We need those first few warm up gym leaders anyways for less competitive challengers to still enjoy playing against. And hey; you may be able to step up your game with all the practice. ^^ As above; which format- Showdown or X/Y, and what types would you like? Bonus if you pick normal or poison as your first or second; annnnd between yourself and Dialga - whomever responds after the other, the two types that the first one picked are off limits. ^^

you will need to choose your types from the remaining types on our list. you joined late so we only have a few left, steel is already taken as a primary and secondary type so yea, sorry :/

It's a double standard, but it's a balancing effort. They're locked into 6 - but they can pick and choose six OU tier pokes of varying types that work cohesively and have excellent coverage and strategy. Leaders are not locked into six, as they can change teams whenever, but they are restricted to all of their pokemon being only two types.

So wait, which are we going with? We had brought this idea up a while ago, scrapped it, then brought it back.

Oh, that's a good idea. Put it into the OP for when/if we get new Gym Leader applicants. Title it with something like "If there are open league positions and you'd like to join, please fill out this form, then await contact from other league members". That'd be great so we'll know what division, battle type, and types they're gonna with all in one shot.

I don't remember what types are currently left though....kinda lost track of that.

got this from cyclone a few pages back, and i think falkbalk chose steel for his second type (i got steel first :x)

Even though steel wasn't leftover, lets just go with that - I think there were only 2 more anyways. But yo - you gotta check in like at least once every few days mate - didn't know if you were gone or what :v

should we ask falkback to pick from normal and poison? or should we stick with falkback being rock/steel and let dialga pick grass/normal or poison?
 
I think we should ask him to pick from Normal and Poison and then give Grass/whatever he doesn't pick to Dialga.
 
How many more league members (GL and such) are you trying to find? I am interested, just thought I was too late.

If Kitsuki is added to the quoted list from a few pages ago, I think two more spots. Unless they decide to make it eight Leaders after all, in which case six more spots. And which division? Not sure.

I say we should just let Falkbak do Rock/Steel and let Dialga have Grass and Normal or Poison. Makes things easier.

We have room for 1 Gym Leader on the Showdown division and 2 more on the 3DS division. Which one are you interested in? Also, I want you to know that being active is important for the league; don't sign up if you're not gonna be around to take on challengers.
 
Well, I move back onto campus on the 24th. They have sketchy wifi, but I can work around it with my schedule being fairly consistent. Preferably the 3ds division. A friend is giving me his old laptop so Showdown will doable. If I would be needed prior to 24th I do have wifi, but I am slow when it comes to raising a team. Though this should be the motivation I need to get working on it.

I saw there was one more spot available on your 3DS Divison league. Could I join, I will be mostly active, and I am currently active on Smogon.

Whoahoho- did I just see a doubles leader sign on for showdown? xD that oughtta mix things up a bit.

Welcome to the new members- thanks for being cooperative with the typings. For these last two spots we're going to have to allow repeat types though, hopefully we can go by which types are least represented in that division of the league - ie; showdown or X/Y.

And again really wanna reiterate the "staying active" part. If you sign on to be a gym leader, you will get challengers, it will be apparent if you don't keep up with satisfying those challenges, and it will be taken into account if more active participants ask for spots in the league to replace inactive members. To all the newer members I didn't get a chance up PM, a reminder- we're moving the league into "Beta" to test it out Monday, August 18th. You will get a littke slack if you just joined in these last few days, but it shouldn't be unreasonable to have a team ready by Wednesday at the latest.

If you are a new leader on X/Y - and want/need help getting your team together by Wednesday, ask around. We've got lots of helpful and experienced battlers and breeders.

Ok, so I'm gonna add you guys to the list. As of now, all Showdown positions have been filled (which I'm surprised about; it seemed like 3DS was gonna fill up first). We still have one 3DS position open since Adam is bowing out of that. Kitsuki, since you didn't specify which division, are you ok with being a part of the 3DS division?

Also, you guys are gonna need to pick yer types. For all you guys's first types, you have to pick one of these: Electric, Normal, Psychic. As for your second types, you can pick one from any of the 18 types in the game, except Steel and whatever was chosen before you.
Lucky, I already gave you Grass and Poison.

I'm sorry to interject, but this seems like a punishment for those who signed up first. If someone else signed up before them, they'd have free reign of types.

I'd suggest have one of those five choices required for each remaining signee, and allow a second of anything with no duplication among those second choices. Otherwise it's actually a disadvantage for Lucky #13 and Blue Cotton Candy having one type mandated without any option (moreso for Lucky #13 having to pick two out of three), and Kitsuki basically gets any two of the 18 types desired. I think mandating a primary of the five available is better, and allow any secondary choice without duplication. The mandated choice can also be a secondary, but the point is four of those five must be represented.

Translation: Dialga can, for example, pick Poison and any other type (let's say Dragon). Lucky #13 can then pick anything except for Poison, and any secondary type EXCEPT what Dialga picks, meaning no Dragon. And so on.

The second choice can also be one of the five mandated types, but would only count for duplication in second column selection, meaning someone else can still pick it as a first choice.

Sound fair?

BTW, Steel, being tripled already, is not available for any further selections. That also seems fair.

No matter what Dialga chooses, either of those options is still available as a first pick and the other as a second pick in either order by my suggestion. Sorry. I used Preview, but it wasn't very effective. I've seen 8 notifications once for the same thing in another thread. I even got one for someone's post quoting me being deleted. That made me laugh.

And I'll point out again: Grass and Poison can be locked in for Lucky #13 if there is no other combination desired. With both Grass and Poison listed, even if Dialga chooses Grass first and Poison second, Lucky #13 can choose Poison first and Grass second. So it's safe to lock in.

EDIT: Of course, if Dialga picks those two types, Lucky #13 might want a different combination.

I believe - we're going with challengers pick six, can't change Pokemon but can change moves items and builds *only* when switching formats. Leaders can change their teams freely but are type locked with no exceptions outside their 2 types.

I'mmmmmm gonna PM all those guys with options and see if I can get priority lists. This is getting pretty complicated lol

Also, if someone on showdown and someone on X/Y would be cool enough to trade a steel type to balance that a bit, that'd be cool :3 it doesn't NEED to happen but if it could, cool beans.
