Can we just talk about this man for a second? He's been around since the first series and is still shown in the story, more than any other professor. Ivy, Elm, Birch, Rowan, Juniper (and Sycamore will soon, too), have not been seen in subsequent sagas afterwards. Oak has been in a lot of anime specials, he has a Rotom he may be giving away to Ash, and not only that, is VERY different from his game counterpart. What do you think of Oak's anime counterpart? What are your favorite Professor Oak moments, etc? Discuss this character, as you wish to.

I think it's normal we see him often as he's the one who keep Ash's Pokemon. He's his region professor. I suppose if Ash would have been from another region, say Kalos, we would have seen Sycamor a lot.

Oak is awesome :3 But honnestly I like all professors.

It does make sense for Oak to continue talking to and occasionally see Ash throughout the series because he is the Professor that got him started and he's the keeper of his stored Pokemon. I think too because of his relationship with Delia he sees Ash as sort of another grandson, and because he and Gary were the only two Pallet trainers that we know of to continue on and represent them in league tournaments. Oak is also shown to be well known in almost every other region so he speaks with other professors and makes appearances for different reasons.
