Hey guys! have you ever thought about the professor's name's? Oak, Birch, Rowan, Juniper, Sycamore, and the guy from johto? They all have Tree's as their last names. TREES. this isn't the first time Gamefreak decided to make a pun. ArticUno, ZapDos and MolTres were victims of this as well. what do you guys think about this? i thought it was kinda funny. almost as funny as Entei running away while asleep. **** you Entei! anyway, do you know anymore bad pokemon puns or just screwups in the game? start a conversation with someone! maybe you'll learn something!

I don't really now of any Pokemon puns but Game Freak tends to put references to the real life animals in a Pokemon's name, for example Tirtouga closely resembles the word Tortuga which is Spanish for Turtle.

I do like when GameFreak does these things. One I remember is Girafarig. When you spell it backwards, it's the same name. So its name is a palindrome. Its design also resembles a palindrome, since its back looks like a head.

    I hate Pokemon puns. I think they're ONIX-ceptable!

I'd always thought the reason they'd named the professors after trees is because they are wise figures in the games & trees represent wisdom. ^^

But for Pokémon names, I like all the Legendary names cause why not

    Spoiler:

I really like Professor Cozmo's name, because it is a double pun
While they are not trees, Cosmos are flowers, thus plants, keeping the theme of Professors being plant themed (remember Professor Ivy?)
More than that, Prof. Cozmo is an astronomer, dealing with the realms of outer space, otherwise known as the "Cosmos." Apparently, his wife's name is Wanda, too, I've read, but I can't seem to remember.

I noticed the tree thing awhile ago 'cause so many fangames have Professor Hawthornes and Professor Willows that it's hard not to notice a pattern :p

I want another girl professor next generation, though. And some cool names.

One of my favorites is the Deino line, which uses the German words for one, two, and three:

    Deino, Zweilous, Hydreigon

The deepest lore is obviously the GRAMPS arrangement of the Evil Team initials that is now complete thanks to Team Skull.
