Project: Creating a Pokemon League

I'm liking the extra time we get now. I'll need for this gym. Hopefully I will get most of it done tonight but I have no time today to do it this morning and afternoon (Big curling game today).

I'm going to be sitting out this round, since I want to really spend time on the E4 and rivals, which would be awesome if I got one in. I can't wait to see some amazing gyms though!

Oh, and at Maci: I would help out, but I have a huge water polo tourney that weekend, so I would only be able to help out Sunday with looking at Elite 4 Entries, and I want to enter myself.

The text needs work, but if you like the idea, i'll happily draw up a 2nd round.

Woah, you need smaller images! Go on Bulbapedia (Google it if you don't have it bookmarked like I do), on each Pokemon's page there'll be a load of sprites that you can use to put in your post.

Anyway, I've more or less completed my gym now! I just need to add in the sprites for all the trainers, and I'm done. I won't do it now though, too tired, need sleep....

Aces- You really need to look at the level progression more. Seriously, a level 46 Ditto with the 8th gym leader? Also, you really need more than just 2 trainers (more like 14-15) if you want to stand up to some of the top gyms that the 8th round will offer from its best. Some creativity and uniqueness are also encouraged.

Aces- Like Skip Shot said... you're going to need to put a lot more thought in you level progression and number of trainers... As well as the puzzle, since that's way too small to even be a gym. With the content you have now, you don't stand a chance against gyms who have already been posted, as well as gyms that have yet to be posted, because there are going to be some good ones coming up. The last gym is the one that needs the most creativity, since everyone wants it, as well as the E4 and Rival positions. No one is holding back ideas anymore.

Some freindly advice Zeide- You don't really have enough Gym trainers for the 8TH round which is what round were on btw. And you cannot have legendary pokemon in your first match. Plus their movesets dont really match up, you need them to pick a side physical or special. Plus the formatting is annoying to my eyes, it makes it unenjoyable to read, which could make the gym become disregarded.

When i looked at the date, it was for the 7th.And therefore the other pokes were at the top of the level band for it, so it seemed sensible to keep it fair by putting one in at the bottom of the level band for it.
But if it's 8th Gym now, then Ditto is lv.56, ther others are lv.61

I have a better gym layout for it now:

A dark fog covers the entire area, like in the woods in Platinum, only thicker. There are warp panels, each one leads to another where a trainer challenges you. There's an invisible wall around the gym leader that vanishes once you have defeated every gym trainer. If you exit the gym, the wall returns, this time you have to step in every warp panel, then the wall goes and you can battle him. There are different rooms, hence the warp panels work, and there are numerous routes through each room, separated from eachother by tall dark-grey spikes.

More gym trainers, with actual competitive movesets, just without EVs. They all have the "i did my best, i have no regrets!" end-speech, and their opening speech is ".... ...... .. battle?"

Closing Speech:You're tough, go ahead. You can get to our leader now.

And sorry, no sprites, my internet's acting up.

Aces- I like where you're going with the ideas. Level progression is a lot better, and the trainer level is certainly higher. I'm going to have to disappoint you though and say that Maci can't implement movesets for the Pokemon of Gym Trainers, only Gym Leaders. Items may work, not sure on that, but you definitely can't pick the moves, which are based on the level-up moves.

I had a really good idea but I won't get it finished, dang. I just don't have the time to do this. Maybe I should post the unfinished version. Maybe not, oh well. I'm surprised though, that nobody came up with the same idea as me. It incorperated all the types, excluding flying which are only secondary types. My gym leader was a normal type leader, which only has one weakness. You faced the trainers by which types had the most weaknesses, rock, to the least, electric. I felt normal was more appropriate for the gym leader than electric though. The trainers used Pokemon that were usually a pure type of that type, with the exceptions of steel and dragon. For ice I used two Glalie's though. In each room there was a puzzle relating to that type.

Here was the Gym Leaders Team:

Gym Leader Marisa

Staraptor - Male
Intimidate
Level 59

Aerial Ace
Close Combat
Brave Bird
Endeavor

Lopunny - Female - Max Happiness

7th...thats the date it was if you check the post time...if you read the post the trainer's PKMN's health go down while you are in there...Burn Puzzle + Trainers + Gym Leader = Hard. Heatran isnt considered a Legend to me because its allowed at Battle Frontier and everyone has it but if you want switch it to a Magmortar for the first fight...Gym Leaders never choose 1 side and it would be better for a Gym Leader to have both...I'll change the red color if you need...

Ah. Oh well, if mine's in with a chance then i'll check on level up moves (you can have egg moves, surely??Lance's Dragonair in LeafGreen knew Outrage) and change them accordingly.
Obviously i wouldn't have Choice items in, that makes it too easy.

Here's my gym:

Morphusia Gym
Bug/Dragon

Gym 8

Puzzle: Two rooms – each room is set out with a lot of small rectangular islands high up from the bottom of the gym. In the middle there is a large hole. Each island has four possible bridges that can connect it to another island, but only two bridges can be up at any one time. You can change which bridges are up by pressing one of the many blue switches dotted about the gym. The aim is to press the three red switches. They will construct a bridge across from the entrance to the gym to the door to the next room, in the form of a spider. One switch will bring up the body, one the legs and one the head. Only with all three parts up will you be able to cross and get into the next room.

The next room is set out in the same style, but is larger and more complex. You must press five red buttons that construct a dragon in the centre hole – one button brings up the body, one the tail, one the head, one the arms and legs and one the wings. When you have built the dragon, you can cross it and go into the gym leader's room.

Sign: Morphusia Gym. Leader: Natalie. The smallest bugs and the tallest dragons unite!

Gym guy's dialogue: Good to see you again! This gym uses two different types – Bug and Dragon. You'll need to burn the bugs with your fiery spirit, and freeze the dragons with your icy coolness. Good luck!
