Question concerning grapes and strawberries

Ok, I have a biological question about crossbreeding fruit.

I have extracted lots of DNA from a strawberry. If I injected it into many grape seeds, could I grow strawberry grapes?

I don't know that much about Botany because we really didn't cover it that much in AP BIO, but I don't think it's possible to cross a grape and a strawberry plant and produce a viable hybrid that comes to fruitation. you may be able to cross them, but I think you can only produce a sterile plant.

Yep. Botany is a bit hard though. But as far as I know, it is possible. One of the example is the Roses. I think there were only supposed to be 2 colors of the rose. Red and White. Mixing their DNAs are some possible changes like colors. Now there are black, violet, yellow and others. It would be better if you search it in the internet.

Roses is of course easy to do, because the various colors would be very closely related.

Grapes and strawberries... not so much.

    No, it's not possible.

That, I think, would be like trying to breed a dog with a cat. o_O I say it can't be done.
Even if it did work and fruited, you'd probably end up with something rancid tasting and/or poisonous. xD

About that, you can only crossbreed fruits if they're in the same family, let's say that you can breed tangelo from tangerine and pomelo. Or for animals, Himalayan cat breeds are cross between Persian and Siamese. Strawberries are in the Rosasae family, while grapes in the Vitacae family, so it's very incompatible and impossible.
