Quick Question and Answer Thread / Breeding Questions

Why don't you be a little more patient? Once you beat enough Shinx, you can actually start feeding your Pokemon Rare Candies and it will make no difference. You will get to the end eventually.

Also not that 1 EV does NOT equal one stat. It affects the growth of your Pokemon - if it grew +100 ATK every level, then it would have over 9000 ATK by level 100.

On a side note, if you hold Macho Brace, you only need to beat 76 Shinx.

Not always. There are some restrictions on some Pokémon. And you just repeated what I said. I said when certain requirements are met, which is what you said here...

You referred to certain requirements in order to trade for certain Pokemon, which is quite different from what I posted. Outside of what I mentioned, there is no restriction for being able to trade with another Diamond/Pearl/Platinum game cartridge.

...Unless you wish to point out the GTS, that is, although I can easily describe that as a different feature entirely.

Yeah i know its not determind by level but i have fed my pokemon 10 Protines and im on level 2 now and my attack is still only 7 so why didnt it level up to 100 So when will all my evs in attack appear

The increase given by Effort Values is gradual, meaning that the full effect will not be seen until the Pokemon approaches Level 100, regardless of how many EVs it has.

Does the Macho Brace do the job for all of the stats when you're EV training? If it does what's the point of the those items from the D/P battle tower?

And I decided to use a Yanma in my Pt playthrough, and It evolves knowing Ancient Power and leveling up, but in my strategy guide if I evolve it, all the moves after you evolve seem to fade to another color.
If I evolve it at level 34 right after I get ancient power will it still be able to learn moves like Bug Buzz?
Or do I need to train my yanma until I get that move then teach it AP at the move tutor?

Also, where can I find a reaper cloth and a razor fang? I want to evolve my dusclops and gligar :(

The Macho Brace doubles the number of EVs a Pokemon obtains regardless of which stat those EVs apply to. The Power items, on the other hand, only affect one stat at a time but add 4 EVs per battle, which is a larger boost than the Macho Brace generally gives.

This would be an easier guide to follow, in your case. The only moves that Yanmega loses out on in that way are Hypnosis and Wing Attack.

Reaper Cloth can be found in Turnback Cave in Diamond & Pearl, and most likely Platinum as well. The Razor Fang is available as a prize in the Battle Tower/Frontier.

Just wondering what a good water Pokemon would be to suffice for my Floatzel. I'd rather not trade over or have someone trade to me, I'd rather catch it myself on Platinum. Vaporeon is out of the question as I've evolved my Eevee into Jolteon and it's a male so I can't breed it unless I've got a Ditto and I can't get him until after the Elite Four. So yeah, anyone have any ideas? Preferably a water type that will have Surf and Ice Beam (taught by TM is fine) and another move that will let me hit other types like Thunderbolt or Shadow Ball.

I dont know if this is the right place to post this but I would just like if everyone rated and critique my team and let me know how I could make it better ;
Well first off I rarely go through the game with 6 pokemon so I only have 4
Munchlax
shockwave
thunderpunch
tackle
lick
Riolu
zen headbutt
payback
quick attack
force palm
Bagon
bite
ember
rage
head butt
Mudkip
water gun
mud-slap
mud shot
tackle
I feel that this is a pretty solid team that cover the basic tatic strategy to defeat any of the in-game teams but I feel it can be better I just don't know how so I was wondering if anyone could help me.
Thank you

Obviously the only advice I have is to level them up... It seems they're pretty good, though I would recommend a strong psychic move/pokemon (though you do have Zen Headbutt...)

Golduck, Gyarados, and even Lumineon come to mind, although the actual choice depends on exactly how you wanted to use it.

Golduck is what I was going to use at first but... eh, just didn't seem like a great choice. Gyarados won't be good for Surf because he's all attack and I might try Lumineon, never trained one before. Thanks. :)

A strange thing just happened in my Diamond game. I have an Eevee and a Ditto in the day care centre, and they produced an egg... except it didn't show up on the breeder application thingy. Does this mean anything, or is it just a glitch?

Nope, that's happened to me several times. I think it's just a minor glitch with the Pokétch app. Instead of using it, just watch the daycare man; when he turns to face the right, an egg has definitely been produced.

You have to click on the egg hatching application thing, that causes it to refresh and tell you if an egg is there or not. You can walk for 19283091823 steps and definitely have an egg but unless you don't refresh it you'll never know.

I cause a Zubat at the beginning of the game, and it just evolved into a Golbat, when does it evolve into Crobat??

It was refreshed several times, still nothing. It must just have been a glitch. Thanks though

Golbat evolves into Crobat depending on its happiness.
On that link it said there was a Poketech app that lets you see Pokemon happiness, do you know where to get that? I didn't see where in the article.

You can pick it up from a woman in the Eterna City Pokemon Center.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! :D What about the bell thing that you can let them hold?
I feel like I'm asking too many questions. :P
