Quick Question and Answer Thread / Breeding Questions

I have a big question dum dum dum.

If I breed a pokemon in it's evolution, say Scissor (Spelling error ) Why does it have different egg moves then Scyther? Will I get a scissor if I breed it?

And, do I need a female/male evee for the male female pokemon?

What do you mean by different egg moves? As you can see, their Egg Moves are exactly the same.

Also, any Pokemon bred will be the earliest evolution stage of its mother, not counting Ditto breeding. So, breeding a female Scizor will produce a Scyther, and a Eevee must be female or bred with Ditto in order to produce other Eevee.

How do I find the Pink Legendary Pokemon? I know how to get the other two but I can't find her now.

Which pink Legendary Pokemon? There are actually a few of them.

If you mean Mesprit, then you need to use the Marking Map Poketch application in order to track it across Sinnoh, once you have talked to it at Lake Valor.

If you catch him in the D-World then there is a portal in TB-Cave that will lead you back to the D-World and get the Griseous.

Sorry to sound like a n00b here, but is there any way whatsoever to tell if a Pokemon has been hacked in Diamond and Pearl? I have some quite rare legendaries a friend gave me, but I think they may be hacks and if they are I don't want to use them in battles and such.

Thanks in advance.

She travels around randomly. You just have to track her down with the Poketch app. Mesprit right?

Mesprit? Talk to her in Lake Verity and she will disappear and roam the lands of Sinnoh.

Your questions are confusing, but I'll try to answer the best I can. Scizor and Scyther have the exact same egg moves. When you breed a Scizor, you'll get a Scyther.

After interacting with Mesprit in the middle of Lake Verity, a marking will appear on your Marking Map Poketch app (13th one) which you get from the Poketch president after the Cobble Badge. This new marking will allow you to keep track of which route Mesprit is in.

.
Scyther has vacuum wave and Scizor has bullet punch.
And thanks

Oh wait I think I figured it out. Those aren't egg moves I'm looking at, if you trade a level 1 scyther and get Scizor, those will be his level 1 moves?

Oh, I see what you were referring to. No, some Pokemon have moves that they can learn only from the Move Tutor in Pastoria City. Think of it as a move that Scyther/Scizor would have learned at Level 0.

Ahh! Okay, thank you :) Time to go learn that.

It won't be able to do much until it learns Wing Attack.
Try sending it out and retreating to leech EXP from your other teammates.

how do i edit my sprites in my pokemon platinum

Learn ROM hacking?

Does anyoe know a team that I can EV train that can help me get through the platinum battle frontier easily?

Well, this question is way too situational. Thorton only uses Rental Pokemon, Argenta's unpredictable, and Dahlia, Darach, and Caitin have hax. However, the OU tier has plenty of Pokemon that may plow through this easily. Refer to this list for suggestions.

Yeah i tried that and he got to level 9 and now the exp is going up in the tiniest amounts, i guess ill just keep on grinding for hours lol

Platinum - Where do you EV train?

I haven't started EV training yet, mainly because I am still working my way through the story. I hate rushing through it, so I am taking my time! XD

But, when it comes to it, I am going to start EV training my team.
So, begs the question and the reason for this topic:

Where do you EV train and what pokemon do you battle?

HP -
Attack -
Defense -
Special Attack -
Special Defense -
Speed -

What routes do you use?
What Pokemon do you fight?
How much do they give?

Tell me and I will put them up here for people.

If there is already a topic like this, sorry.

My preferred method with my Pokemon infected with Pokerus and the appropriate Power item is (Note that all will initially give 1 EV but will give a total of 10 with the Pokerus and appropriate Power item):
HP - Bidoof (Route 201 with 40-50% encounter rate)
Attack - Machop (Route 207 with 25-45% encounter rate)
Defense - Geodude (Oreburgh Gate with 60-80% encounter rate)
Sp. Attack - Gastly (Old Chateau with 100% encounter rate)
Sp. Defense - Tentacool (Surfing with 60% encounter rate typically)
Speed - Zubat (Ravaged Path with 65-78% encounter rate)

Most other people's lists will look much like this one except that Attack may have Shinx (Route 202 with 20-30% encounter rate) or Starly (Route 201 with 50% encounter rate).
