It is because you are leveling up too quick to see any change.
But you are still benefiting from the training. Don't worry!

The way people see a big change is when they rare candy a pokemon up to level 50, for example, and EV train on something with a very low level.

So they battle a lot of that pokemon, so, the next time they level up, the stat increase is like +8 or what ever!

so ill see a bigger change when they are higher level?
wat is a good level to start ev training?

You should see the increase when they evolve. Also, there will be a steady increase in the stat when leveling up. It will be 3's, 4's, 5's or what ever!

It depends on the person really.
I EV train normal straight off, unless I want to see the large stat increase! XD

Hope this helps!

Yes.

Any level. Starting earlier will benefit you though, as you won't have to work as hard to gain a level as you will at a higher level.

On a related note, the EVs are very noticeable. I EV trained a poke at level 70, and after a level gain I gained +43 in Sp. Attack.

Just like the other dudes, any level but, really early since, the higher the level...the more the EXP. Points.

I remember when I first found out about EVTraining, back on my Emerald. I decided to give it a go with my Mewtwo, and defeated Spinda after Spinda after Spinda. Once it went to Lv 72, it gained about 53 points more. I was like O_O Wow! And that was one heck of a satisfaction. xD

another question
my pokemon that is being ev train has pokerus but it doesnt seem to be doubling there ev points, instead of getting 2 for every starly i beat i get just the regular 1 point, this is confusing the hell out of me
someone explain please

depending on the level of the Pokemon and how many Starly you beat, you wont see the doubling right away. How close is ur pokemon to Lv 100?

its a shiny blastoise and its at level 45

Well if your pokemon is at that level then that would be why u are not seeing the drastic change. EVs crunch in ur stats the closer you get to LV 100.

ooooh that would explain alot
how close to level 100 do i have to be?
just give me a number so i have something to work with lol
The closer you are to lvl 100, the more accurately you can calculate your Blastoise's IVs. That is what you wanted to do, correct?
The easiest way would be to go into a lvl 100 battle using Wi-Fi, record the stats, and punch them into an IV calculator such as Metalkid's.

Question:

I am only getting back into the swing of everything now so I just need to brush up on some things.

If I want to start EV training at a higher level so IO can see the obvious increase, what ways can I get a pokemon up to a higher level, without it benefiting from EV's?

For example, I have a Level 1, newly hatched, pokemon. I want to get it to Level 50 before I start EV training. How can I do this?

Some things I can think of are Rare candy (Dur XD)
Does EXP pass on the EV's or not?
Any other methods?
