Quick Question and Answer Thread / Breeding Questions

And if it's open level does that mean anyone can enter with anything?

Open level means that whatever the pokemon is in your game, it will go in at that level. Ex: you have a lv74 Magikarp, if you choose open level, you'll be battling with a lv74 Magikarp

@jasonresno: Correct. One person could enter with a team of level 50s and another could enter with a team of 100s and the levels would not change. It's exactly how it sounds: You are open (able) to enter with anything, no matter the level.

EDIT: Shoot, my computer died right before I posted this, and I see that someone else responded. Sorry for the late response =/

Cresselia?

Well today I got bored training my Pokemon in Platinum and went back to my Diamond game. Well, first I started out by catching Giritina (with one Ultraball WOO!!) and I decided to go chase Cresselia around the map. I got to where it was, and I started walking around (actually I was surfing) but I never found it. How do you find it?

another question : How do we find out when the next event pokemon comes out in America? how can we get them?

Is there a way that I can change the main PokeDex picture of a Pokemon to it's other gender or form? For example, I first encounter a Origin Forme Giratina, then later obtain the form of the Altered Forme Giratina when I leave Distortion World. The Origin Forme becomes the main picture since it's first encounter in form, is it possible to change the main picture to the Altered Forme? So that every time I start to use the PokeDex, the form of Giratina I see will always be the Altered Forme one.

Nope, I tried it. I even somehow restarted my game while trying to figure it.

That depends on your ID number. If the last number is odd, then you'll find Skull fossils (Cranidos) in the Underground. If it's even, then you'll find Armor fossils (Shieldon) in the underground.

I'm not sure if this kind of question is meant to be here, nor do I know if it has been answered. However, I've been wondering about it for a while, so I'm just going to ask it.

I've been confused as to the exact definition of "hacked" Pokemon. I can easily determine the basic meaning, but I've read some stuff that has confused me. Now, I have used an Action Replay code to obtain certain Pokemon early, such as Tauros or Arcanine. I just put in their Dex number, the level I wanted, the nature I wanted, and walked in grass to get them. I didn't modify them in any way. So would those Pokemon be classified as "hacked"? I only wonder because they are otherwise normal. If they are, indeed, not allowed in competitive play, then I will follow those rules in the future.

Yes, they're hacked. Any pokémon that are received or modified in any way by using an external device is widely considered hacked. Some people may allow you to battle with "legitimate" hacks, which are basically hacks that don't have any stats or details that are impossible to achieve otherwise, but mostly you're going to find that not many people will want to trade with you, and most will consider your pokémon hacked if it fits the definition above.

All right. Thanks, bro. I'll keep that in mind.

That is the most retarded thing ever. Why did they do that?! I mean, they should at least give the player a choice do so and knowing about it in normal means but doing this without giving the player's choices in the first place is really retarded and makes people want to reset their games. I prefer the Skull Fossil over the Armor Fossil and they have to make something as retarded as this, and now since my Trainer ID has a 6 at the end, I can't get the Skull Fossil. Game Freaks seriously did this on purpose to mess people up.
