Quick Question and Answer Thread / Breeding Questions

I've tried the migrating process you suggested but the option of migrating from emerald to platinum doesn't show in the main menu when I restart my game.

Have you visited the building inside Pal Park yet? If you haven't, you would not be able to migrate any of your pokémon from Emerald into Platinum until you do that.

Ok annother stupidly obvious question from me again.

l have Colosseum & XD, all the Pomeom on both games, if l was to use my other memory card (as l have 2) copy over my save data, took the pokemon out of it into my S/R/E/FR/LG and then into my D/P/P would l be able to keep the original save data having just one with no pokemon all sucked out and the completed save data, then delete the old data, restoring the original.

Kind of obvious that l can seing as it just reads save data, but just something l want to quckly discuss before l actually dig out my Gamecube and figure out how to work all the mish mash madness between trades wires ect...

Sorry, but you can't copy Pokemon Colo/XD files to another memory card.

However, you can trade the Gamecube Pokemon to Emerald, clone, and Palpark from there. This way, you have the Pokemon in both the 3rd and 4th gen still.

Crap, knew there was something, still means my Colo/XD lose all there pokemon and would have to start over, well thanks for telling me, and might try out that glich sometime, thanks

I've been inside but haven't been able to take part in any catching shows (not enough pokemon from kanto/hoenn region).

The game you are migrating from must be the same religion as the one you are using to migrate, so if you are using an European Platinum, you can't import from a Japanese Emerald for example

I have a question: I noticed that Gallade learns "Leaf Blade" at level 1, so if I evolved a Kirlia into Gallade at level 30 for example, would it learn "Leaf Blade"? Bearing in mind that Kirlia does not leanr Leaf Blade on its own...
Thanks

Moves learned at level 1 can't be learned naturally, unless it's the first in an evolution line or if you hack the game.
The only way to obtain Leaf Blade on Gallade is to trade a Heart Scale in Pastoria for remembering the move

I have decided that I will start EV training, but I have some questions.

1. If a pokemon get experience from the Experience Share, does that pokemon also get the EVs of the battle?

2. Once a pokemon gets to level 65-70, at which point it's hard to get that pokemon a level up, where is the best place to go to level them up? I have a method for getting a pokemon to level 70 or so, but what then?

3. If my pokemon has pokerus, as well as a power item, and I gain 1 EV point in the power item's stat, how many EVs does that pokemon recieve?

Thanks to whoever answers. :D

1. Yes. Any and all Pokemon that gain experience in battle gain EVs.
2. Battle some of the high leveled trainers at the Battle Zone, I guess...
3. Pokerus Bonus * (EV + Item Effect)
Gaining 1 EV:
2 [Pokerus Bonus] * (1 [EV] + 4 [Power Item Effect]) = 2 * 5 = 10 EVs.

Does this help?

Another question:

Is the Pokemon's level included in the catch rate formula? Because when I checked Bublbapedia's formula, it did not include the level as a factor.

For example, would it be harder to catch a level 100 Bidoof than a lvl 3 bidoof?

The formula is dependent on the wild Pokemon's current HP and TOTAL HP. Typically, high level Pokemon have higher HP than lower leveled Pokemon, right? I can't quite put what I'm saying into words, but do you understand it?

why when i go into the wifi room are there a green bit and a yellow bit?

That means you have over 8 people registered. As you register more than 16, another will appear, and so on.
Depending on what page your friends are registered on, that's the coloured floor that they'll appear on.

Example.

It is possible to have 31 IVs in all stats, however it is very uncommon and very hard to do so. Many breeders or trainers who catch a Pokémon with all IVs that are to the max are considered quite fortunate. However, just to reassure that your IVs are correct, here is another IV Calculator source that is known by many.
