What ghosts are obtainable b4 leaving dewford? I might do it on my Emerald with ghost type

Shedinja and Sableye. I believe those are the only ones you can get by that point.
 
If it's not too late to join, I'll do a Bug-type run on my Emerald version.

Lol yeah, it would be difficult to pull off considering that the next opportunity to get a ghost type would be Shuppet and Duskull, which you don't get until the second to last badge or something. xD; Good luck with whatever you choose though. c:
 
Actually, I'll change my type from Bug to Grass, as I've already done a Bug type previously.
 
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should use?

(Fire red) Id like to do ground, but theres none at the begining, can i use nidos? sinse theyll be ground later?

yeah ill take symphony's advice and ill do it on emerald with normal type if possible

Just to let you know, there is a different thread if you are thinking of doing a mono-type challenge on Fire Red or Leaf Green. This is just a thread for just Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald mono-type runs. So only post here, if your doing that dark run on Sapphire, or another run on these three games.

I've made a lot of progress in Emerald over the last two days. It's a Normal run and I currently have three badges.

Vigoroth - Lv 27
- Strength
- Fury Swipes
- Yawn
- Slack Off

Linoone - Lv 27
- Headbutt
- Tackle
- Tail Whip
- Odour Sleuth

Swellow - Lv 27
- Wing Attack
- Quick Attack
- Focus Energy
- Growl

The team's still a little primative, but hopefully I'll get me a Zangoose soon.
 
I've beaten the first gym, currently travelling to the second. My team consists of;

*pokemonelite2000 image removed*, Level 17
- Bide
- Harden
- Nature Power
- Bullet Seed

"image removed", Level 16
- Tackle
- Stun Spore
- Mega Drain
- Leech Seed

I will be joining. I want to use Fire and Grass. Is that fine?
 
A monotype run is only one type, I'm afraid. You'll have to choose between those two types, Oak.
