3rd Gen R/S Monotype Challenge

---------- Update ----------

*image removed*
-------------------------

"image removed" Defeated quite easily, nothing too hard since his Absol couldn't set up.

"image removed" Cake walk, Kiba did most of the work here. Sableye vs. Sableye was fun, though.

"image removed" Not TOO hard, Walrein was irritatingly difficult, though.

"image removed" Quite hard, but only at the beginning. I didn't know Absol was such a sweeper when he pulls off two Swords Dances. Raijin got a OHKO on Salamence, though (didn't want Omnix getting all the goods).

"image removed"
---------- The Champion of Hoenn ----------

*pokemonelite2000 image removed* Omnix got him pretty good. He set up Spikes, which made this whole battle a bit more difficult than it already was. Other than that, Flamethrower ftw.

*pokemonelite2000 image removed* Raijin took this one on with general ease. He made it a little bit harder by using Ancientpower and getting the allover stat boost from it, but ultimately, Surf won this one.

*pokemonelite2000 image removed* This steel-clad beast was rather difficult. Metal Claw gave him a boost that he didn't need, and he started tearing into me for a little bit. I thankfully saved Kusanagi and let Raijin clean things up. Surf took this one, too.

*pokemonelite2000 image removed* He would've been more difficult than he was if it wasn't for Swagger and some good luck. After a few Crunches and a few confusion hits, he went down easy.

*pokemonelite2000 image removed* He was a LOT harder than I'd expected. He got an Ancientpower boost, which, when combined with Giga Drain, suprisingly wiped out half of my team. Once again, Swagger came through and saved me, after a few good Ice Beams.

*pokemonelite2000 image removed* The Big One, his ultimate pokemon, and quite honestly, it defended its name extremely well. He was TOUGH. he went through my roster once each (Thank God for revives). I tried Swagger, and it worked a few times, but ultimately wasn't as effective as it was on the others. Raijin was the hero of this one, as he was faster. I'd Crunch, he'd Meteor Mash. Omnix got in after Haari got Hyper Beamed and used Flamethrower, bringing him within a Crunch's grasp. After a revive and another sacrifice by Omnix, Raijin finally took 'em down.

So, I went home a champion: the new Champion of Hoenn. I can say this was a lot of fun, and I can say I'm proud of my team and our victory. After the second round, I've offially finished the challenge. This brought new light to an already great game. I'm really happy I completed the challenge.

Wow, congrats Rock!

I'm now at Lavaridge, I'll update more after I defeat Flannery.

Well, I lost to Flannery with water types for the 1st time (sad, team was weak anyway) Then I whooped her

Went on to my dad, beat him after losing once, Magic (Gyarados) was the star here. Lvl. 25, beating a 28, 30, and 31 all by its self, thanks to dragon rage

Thanks, KadabraK! ^.^ I can't wait to see how your Water-Types do!

On another topic, since my recently completed run was so much fun (and it was, I haven't had that much fun in a Pokemon game in a very long time), I think I'm going to do another one! That's okay, right? Or is it not?

Either way, if I am allowed to, I'm probably going to choose a rather underdog type, Poison. I'm not absolutely sure, yet, though. I would pick Bug, but someone's already doing it... I know I COULD, since there's no rule that says I can't just because someone else is doing it, but... I figured since I'm having trouble deciding, and someone else IS already doing it, I think I really am going to go with Poison.

congrats on completing with Dark types, and good luck on another go with Poison types!

Ahhh...Psn types, the thing about that is you always have poison to rely on, and yours never get poisoned XD

But, there isnt a lot of poison types in the game that I know of, maybe koffing later on, and in sapphire I saw a grimer in fire path, and then theres Swalot, dont know if i forgot any.

I'll update later on this post.

UPDATE:
-I clear out the Weather Institute, pretty easy.
-Beat May, again. She was pretty easy because my pelipper took care of her grovyle
-Finally reach Fortree, ready to kick some wings.
-I meet up with Steven and get the Devon Scope
-I go into Fortree Gym and beat Winona, I'm telling you, Pelipper with Shock Wave = unstoppable. (yes, pelipper can learn shockwave, go check.)
-I go to Mt. Pyre, and get the blue orb and fight 3 team aqua members. *I might go back and clear out the tower of trainers in there for exp.
-I reach Lilycove
-Beat May, once again. This time she had a swellow which I wasn't prepared for, but I switch in pelipper and he owns it.
-I go to Capt. Stern and see whats up there, hey! they steal Stern's submarine!
-I infiltrate Aqua's base, where Archie, again, gets away (slippery little devil, almost had him)
-I go on the route to Mossdeep city, and reach there, which is where I stop. *I'll clear out sea routes for more exp, because a bunch of 32s and 33s wont stand a chance against tate and liza's 40s

update team later

I forgot to thank you, too, Uruss. Thanks, I appreciate the cheers. ^.^ It was loads of fun.

And Kadab (I love nicknames ^_^), you forgot 3 very important poisons: Crobat, Tentacruel, and Vileplume. ;3

It's finalized, I'm doing Poison. That is, if I'm allowed to, but I'm pretty sure Saphira won't mind.

/Please help me choose for the last slot!/
/FInal Team Status: 5-10
~~|symphony♪

Personally, in your proposed team, I would choose Xatu, Altaria, or Pelipper in that final slot, most likely Xatu.

Yes, I think Xatu is the best chance, because I have dragon w/salamence and water w/Gyrados

Kadabrak, you can do poison after. I wish you well because I would never do poison on their own.

Oh silly me! >.< I got the names wrong. How silly! I'll change that.
haha :)

Rock, I forgot about them, especially tentacruel, which is on my water team! >.<

Here's a rundown of my team

Lombre Lvl. 33
Gyarados Lvl. 33
Pelipper Lvl. 33
Marshtomp Lvl. 33
Tentacruel Lvl. 33
Zigzagoon Lvl. 5 (roared into a battle >_<)

Well, that's it, zigzagoon will probably leave if I obtain a milotic or a kyogre, or a different water pokemon.

Please help me decide the last slot on my team so I can know which to train! Update coming soon.

Honestly, symphony. I'd go with Xatu or Tropius, because you kind of need Sp. Atk, and Tropius (I believe) Is neutral to electric. But Xatu is a good one, but idk which to go with for ya :(

I've been speeding through this haven't I?

Okay, I got a super rod, and picked up a Sharpedo. Trained it to level 35 and absolutly dominated Tate and Liza, along with Magic (Gyarados) But, I'm having a problem with choosing, Wailord is a freaking tank, but sharpedo owns at attack. I'm not sure which to go with, someone tell me :(

I'm leaning toward tropius because I need him for Wallace (I'm on emerald). You started after I did and I'm way behind you. lol... I'm not sure about Wailord or Sharpedo though.

Dude, from my experience, I would personally choose Sharpedo for these reasons: Wailord is a tank, true, but that's sadly and mostly all he is... his other stats lack. Meanwhile, Sharpedo dominates in Attack, Special Attack, and Speed, especially if you go as in-depth as to get a +Attack, Special Attack, or Speed nature and/or EV train it to orient it toward those stats. However, I don't mess with all that mess; the most I've done is find natures that benefit me. ANYWAY... back to Sharpedo, He's extremely fast (He was the fastest on my team) and hits hard.

Also, if you DO choose Sharpedo, I would honestly go for this move setup: Crunch, Surf, Agility / Swagger, Ice Beam, as it has really good type coverage and takes advantage of his high Speed and Special Attack scores. Agility vs. Swagger, it's really up to you. I have mine with Agility, though I never use it. He could get SUPER fast though if you could set up an Agility or two. Although Agility's nice, Swagger's really nice, too. Not as nice as, say, Supersonic or Confuse Ray (since we're dealing with confusion), but it's really nice when used on Special sweepers like Gardevoir.

Oh, and Symphony, I really did overlook Tropius... and I didn't know you were on Emerald... In such case, I would probably go with him, honestly. Xatu or Tropius, but more than likely, now, Tropius. You'd get very nice type coverage with him in your team. ;3

So, on this day, I began my wonderous journey of poisonous glory. My Poison-Type Monotype Challenge has begun!

*image removed*
----------------------

- Began my adventure (Character info - Gender: Male, Name: Lee).
- Arrived at my new home and set my newly given clock.
- Visited my neighbors, meeting May.
- Saved Professor Birch with Treecko, my starter pokemon.
- Made my way to May and defeated her, returning to the lab in the process.
- Obtained a Pokedex and 5 Pokeballs.
- Caught my Zigzagoon litter (3 of them).
- Battling only the absolutely necessary trainers, I made my way to Petalburg City.
- Helped Wally catch his Ralts.
- Once again avoiding as many trainers as possible, I made my way through Petalburg Forest and on to Rustboro City.
- Challenged the Rustboro City Gym, winning over Roxanne quite easily with Treecko and obtaining the Stone Badge.
- Also avoided trainer battles whilst traveling through to Rusturf Tunnel.
- Saved Mr. Briney's Peeko and saved the Devon Goods.
- Returned the Devon Goods, met the Devon President, and obtained a Pokenav, along with a letter to Steven.
- Mr. Briney carried me to Dewford Town.
- Obtained the Old Rod and caught my first team pokemon: Tentacool.
- Slid past the two fishermen outside of Granite Cave, making my way into said cave.
- Finally caught my second team pokemon inside Granite Cave: Zubat.
- Ventured back to Petalburg, where I trained my Tentacool and Zubat on the trainers I'd skipped over previously.
- Defeated all the trainers from Oldale Town to Rustboro City, not including the route outside Rusturf Tunnel.

Currently: Training my Zubat and Tentacool, keeping tabs on the EVs gained so I can identify the Hidden Power type and power later on.

Hmmm...I won't have much to do over break, and its senior year...
I'll do dark. I'll start w/ Mudkip for a HM slave. I'll be on Ruby Version. It looks like I'll catch a
a Poochyena and a Seedot soon enough (thnak god I'm not on Sapphire).

Funnily enough, I've never actually beat Ruby. I've done a Flying monotype on Leafgreen and a Bug monotype on Gold, though (Scyther FTW!).

Alright, thanks Rock. I already got a sharpedo anyway.

Having a bit of trouble with archie, he won't die. So i'll clear the routes from pacidflog and slateport, and go deep-sea diving for shards to get a water stone for my lombre :)

-Finally beat Archie after a tiny bit of training
-Caught Kyogre, replaced my Tentacool

Is it cheating to use him? lol

Try attacking his Pokemon.

LOLOLOL. xD

Anyway, I have a question: Do any of you know where an EV / IV / Hidden Power calculator is on the internet? I've heard of PsyPoke, but can someone give me a link? I tried searching Google but it gave me something else the whole way through.

I need one to help me figure out Kurabatto's and Nayru's Hidden Power once I get to Slateport.
