Random friend requests?

If I ever get a random request, and it's someone I KNOW I haven't talked with in the PokeSpecial FC, TCTI, DLTMS0, etc., I usually remove it immediately. Unless it's someone I have seen in those areas, but just haven't talked to. Then I'll VM them saying that I don't accept random requests without getting to know them better, and if we can keep at least a small convo. going, I'll probably accept them.
 
I used to give random friend requests when I joined. Now, I don't do that, because people no do it to me. (I get at least 1 every week). I used to except them, but my friend list got huge (Its at like 100 now). So nowadays, I try to get to know the person a bit before excepting them. Now, talking about this reminds me I gotta fix my friends list. :P
 
If they've left a comment on my profile or sent me a PM or replied to one of my posts (or me theirs) then I'm good. I'd probably still add them if they never had any contact with me before. It's not a big deal. Just rather I know them in some fashion rather than coming out of the blue.
 
I don't accept them, period. Most of them I get are from people I have never even spoken to. I do accept, however, when they are from someone who I've talked to quite a bit. I rarely give out requests, but it happens when I want to get to know someone, so that's what I use VM's for.
To be honest, I wish there was a way to turn the friend list off. I don't need a list to tell me who my friends are. :)​
 
I would never send one out just b.c I'm not a spontaneous person.
But I don't care if I get one, its no big deal.
 
It's grand when they randomly add you but i would like them to talk to me beforehand or after :)
We've got too much time to not to get to know our random little friends! The world is too cruel these days we need our random friends to say hello and keep us happy xD
 
If I've seen them around & I've spoken to them I accept, if not I don't :] Simple as that.
 
i like meeting people so random friend requests are fine for me.
but i need to talk to them first befoe i accept.
 
Since I'm an SA I get lots of random friend requests. But if the person will just post in my profile and start talking then I get to know the person and all is well.

But then you have the ones who try to make friends with Staff just to suck up to them. And I think that's where a lot of my friend requests come from. I accept just about all of them, and the ones I don't I know for sure they're just suck ups (because they've been banned before, have lots of infractions, or get lots of bad rep).
 
I used to accept every friend request I got when I first joined..

Then I noticed some members who I barely knew nor responded to questions asking their reasoning for sending one in the first place.

Nowadays I only accept them if I've seen them around the forums (subjective) or if I've talked to them before.

So if someone has been banned they're a suck-up for trying to befriend you, only because your name is bolded in red? Hmmm, that's odd. Same for reputation, they're automatically a suck-up for trying to befriend you if others don't take well to their posts? That's odd. XD;

I don't care. It's a better chance of me talking to you if we've talked before, lol.
 
I love them, it makes me feel wanted. It also gives me a chance to talk to new people but if they are horrid people, I will delete and put them on my ignore list. Even tough I have been here a month I already have 14 people on my ignore list. o.o;
 
I don't have anyone on my friend list nor have I requested anyone.

I doubt I would turn down random friend requests on here considering what the forum is for. I don't expect to know people that well on here besides their likes and dislikes regarding pokemon.
 
Sometimes I accept and sometime I deny. Doesn't really matter to me; my true friends don't need to be on a list to know who they are.
 
If weve talked a bit, and i've got to know you, then sure. :D. But if i get a totally random one, I reject immediately.
 
My friends list was nearing 200 when I was that big noob trying to make my friends list huge so it would make me look good... lol. 3:

Then I pruned it down to 85 and I think it needs one more pruning but I'm too lazy to do it.

I used to back in the days, now I don't. @_@
