can yellow version join in on this or is red blue only? im interested in doing this but i noticed that the "yellow monotype challenge thread" is lifeless. yellow version is the only one i have. edit-regardless of whether me using yellow counts or not, ive started it and im using psychic types. and i stupidly spent over an hour wandering through grass above curelean (def spelled wrong) looking for an abra until i went on the internet and found out abra is only there in red and blue.

k well im lazy but so far ive caught abra near the daycare, walked that one place where lt surge is, went through digglet cave and traded for "miles", then i went past digglet cave and caught a drowzee. my team so far is

I really don't see the logic behind excluding yellow, but anyhow, I'll take on the fighting monotype challenge! (and get horribly, horribly destroyed by sabrina...) on Red version.

Upon closer inspection, one cannot do a fighting monotype without trading, so I'll change this post again to reflect what monotype I want to do.

Why can't you do a fighting monotype on red? You can catch a Mankey just outside Pewter City. Catch a Machop in the Rock Tunnel. Fish for a Poliwag anywhere. And get a Himonchan or Hitmonlee in Saffron.

Ok I get it now. There are only 4 usable fighting pokemon in red version. Dang I never realized that.
