6th Gen Redesigned Hoenn

It's always fun to see a game completely remade in 3D to every small detail, or at least for me, but I think it wouldn't hurt to change some route aesthetics as well. Add some new areas to compensate for new items like evolutionary stones or TMs, things like that. Don't lose the essence of the original area in RSE. Wouldn't mind them giving the routes names like X and Y too :]
They did that in Emerald so I see them doing it again.

@ DJLew you can check out the redesigned gyms at Serebii and or in our gym thread here as some have posted images of them already (also be sure to talk about them there) :3

Thank you for that, I didn't realize how far behind I am at catching up on recent screenshots. They are exceeding my expectations to say the least, it's making me sure glad I am getting back into Pokemon. Lavaridge in particular is one I am looking forward to most!

I hope they show off the hot springs next time :3. Tbh I was starting to fall off the Pokemon train after Unova, and even Kalos didn't do much to pull me back in. I hope that ORAS will do the trick :)

I actually never played Gen 5 for the same reason of just falling off the Pokemon train. I agree that Kalos wasn't exactly all that I wanted to come back to, just knowing that ORAS were confirmed made it seem necessary to at least play X just to get the new mechanics down with Megas and stuff (the Megas in ORAS really look amazing so far). I really believe that it will be a lot better than Kalos, even if nostalgia is the reason why. :L

Seeing Hoenn redesigned like this seems weird tbh. It feels cramped for some reason. But, I still like the change, nevertheless.

I think most of the route's names will be a combination of the town's names, like Rusturf.

An example would be Route 101 being Littledale Path, and Route 102 being Olburg Road?

My favorite graphic style will always be Gen 4's. However, seeing Hoenn in Kalos's 3D is really just amazing, and has changed my view of the overhaul completely. I wasn't too fond of how RSE looked, but damn, do they look amazing now. The colors and 3D just breathe life into the region.

I actually hope for the redesigned music in ORAS. The original soundtrack to R/S/E was perfectly designed and I want to see how they remix it into the routes. (And I really hope they do not change the storyline to make a new Hoenn but the original Hoenn)

Cramped because X/Y gave us so much space? L. City was the largest city in the poke-world.

Still, I agree that it adds life to Hoenn, though I loved Sapphire anyway.

They sure did, but of course France is known for it's wide open country spaces, with Paris being the largest city by far so they did a good job at doing that.
In places with lots of Forest like Hoenn towns need to be cramped or they'll take over the surrounding forest. So the design fits nicely still :)

I'm hoping Petalburg Woods gets an overhaul, that place was tiny and didn't do it for me, the maze wasn't the best and there was no sense of adventure there, however, I do hope some cities get an overhaul.

I didn't even think about the music, that's definitely something to look forward to. I know for a lot of WiiU games they upgraded the soundtracks a ton and this I'm assuming will be no different. Good call. xD

It was simple. Hopefully they make it bigger, or at least add a post game extension to it for us to come back and further explore the forest. It is probably the smallest forest in all the games...

I do agree Petalburg Forest was small with the maze path. The Cut region of the forest wasn't much of a good one either. Maybe they can hide the Moss Rock here for Leafeon?

Maybe we'll get new underwater areas too. There are some dark blue areas on the map that I'm not recognizing.

I like the new look of littleroot town. I must say ORAS Hoenn looks like Hoenn (well it is) in Kalos+Sinnoh style. Which I don't mind as Kalos and Sinnoh are very beautiful too.

Maybe we will unlock some new area post-game where we will go in an underwater tunnel that end up in a cave and then end up outside with some grass patch with non hoenn pokemon. A bit like the Sevii islands.

That sounds good too.

Anyways away from the new areas discussion (which belongs somewhere else), I wonder how Victory road will look, especially if Flash isn't an HM any more. Maybe it'll still require Flash. If not then they'll have to make it more difficult in some other way.

Maybe incorporate Rock Climb or Dive? I remember that Dive wasnt really used in Victory Road.

Either way, I hope the cave will be more challenging to go through considering that the RSE one wasn't that hard.
