Regarding Imgur Restrictions

Hello, everyone.

Recently, popular image hosting service Imgur blocked the entirety of the United Kingdom from seeing any images uploaded to its site, whether on the site itself or hotlinked across the internet. This affects PokéCommunity as users from the UK or other blocked regions can no longer see signatures or embedded images that may have been uploaded to Imgur in the past.

In order to ensure that embedded images remain visible to all users, we urge everyone to use PokéCommunity's galleries and attachment system or another image hosting site*.

You may upload images to your own galleries and then link to the gallery or embed specific images from your gallery in your posts. To get started, click Media -> Add Media in the navigation bar at the top of the page or click here. Uploaded media may need staff approval before it is visible, especially for newer users, so please be patient if that is the case for your uploads.

* Please note that images uploaded to PokéCommunity may only be viewed on PokéCommunity itself. We do not permit hotlinking images on other websites. If you opt for an alternative image hosting site, it is possible that they may implement similar restrictions to Imgur in the future.

You could try Img.bb, or possibly other websites that are image hosting besides imgur. But, I also agree. Especially for people who have media threads, 15 files is pretty small but, I understand due to the stress it'd put on the server why this limit exists for attachments. So, I am not asking for it to be increased, or anything.

If only Photobucket weren't a useless piece of shit that demands money in 2025 to be able to host more pictures! Wouldn't it be awesome if that weren't the case? /s Mods, don't bite my head off for this photobucket comment, please.

You don't need to attach the files - you can get the image url from the PC gallery and use those inside e.g.

tags. I don't think we're keen to increase the attachment limit per thread especially given you don't need to share images via attachments in a thread.

Failing that, use another website for hosting like Palamon said.

Given my own image-heavy project ages back, a screenshot LP, was hurt by photobucket doing that change, I'll allow such statements. :v

Well, you know what they say: restriction breeds creativity. :P

But yeah: you can link any image you uploaded to your gallery on PC. It's what I did with the images in my signature.
