A lot of people have been saying they've been working on it for a while however we actually do not know how long they have been working on the game so there are some unknown variables.

It is known (or leastways from articles/interviews) that they have been working on it for three years so far - but that's not too uncommon for game production at all, and it doesn't tell us how much they've worked that whole time as well (perhaps, for instance, they started slowly, or progress slowed during Platinum?)

Only guesses can be made for it so far, really - it's a bit silly to claim it'll definatelybe sold such-and-such a month (especially as Japan's release date isn't yet known - and although it is unlikely, it can get pushed back as well (look at Brawl)). But it's not that silly to just speculate on it, I suppose. =)
 
Okay, the game has been in development since three years ago, or at least since Diamond and Pearl were in development for release as stated above. However, your pattern looks good, it isn't promising as the game is still in development as we speak. It has been confirmed that Kanto will make a return to the remakes and all of that will take time before the game is released. If you look at it, September or November may be the time of release as all we know it is Fall of 2009. However, we don't know exactly when as we cannot pin point that as yet.

Not knowing the exact release date for Japan only makes it harder to figure the release in the USA for the most part. However, even if you look at a pattern you can't bet everything that it'll turn out that way. Things do happen and things can be changed. So, even though the speculation and theory on it seems beneficial, I wouldn't try to bring up hopes for the fans here because if it doesn't go through then their high hopes have only coming crashing down to wait a little longer. So, for right now it is unclear exactly when things may be released, but at least we were given an estimate for Japan's release. Not to forget, seeing as Summer has almost started on the 21st of this month, I wouldn't expect to hear the Japanese release date until a month or two from now. After that, then I would say we can probably figure a rough estimate, but it still wouldn't be exact at the time for the US.
 
If what you say is true, then we should be expecting a release date of around October. Rumor has it that these games are going to be released on the 10th year anniversary of GS's release in Japan to the date (November 21 if I remember correctly?) So, it's sort of a wait but well worth it :) Oh, and that's in the U.S., sorry Europe!

The original release for Gold and Silver in Japan was on November 21st of 1999. In the US, the release date for Gold and Silver was on October 15th of 2000. This was basically almost a year difference in release, but I wouldn't think it might be extended this far as release date differences seemed to have gotten closer and not so far apart. However, I wouldn't expect the game to be released in February for the American version as it just seems a little too soon.
 
Spring 2010 is the given release time. Fall 2009 in Japan, and Summer 2010 in the UK and Europe.
 
September 12 in Japan.
For the US, that'll probably be sometime around March or February if we're really lucky.
As for the rest of the world, bugger if I care know.
 
probably around the same time as platinum was released, so near-ish 22nd march for USA, 22nd May for UK (>____>)
though, considering the fact they already have most of the speech & maps it could be sooner, and US could get them in february, january if they're EXTREMELY lucky
i wish it was like November...
 
My esoteric guess is around March. I don't know why I keep thinking "March" but I do.

Do not worry as you're not alone in this thought. March seems to me the most probable release date for these games in the US. Seeing as Platinum was released on September the 13th last year, and these are being released like a date earlier, I would think the remakes may come out around the same time as Platinum did in the US. However, this is going by basic speculation on a pattern, while anything is possible to happen from today's time frame till that of next year. Though, my range is at least late February to early April for these games to hit the States next year.
 
All of Europe always have to wait ages for the new games.. I think we have quite a wait ahead of us.
 
Every game takes a different amount of time to translate, my guess is this game will take the longest to translate, due to the pokemon following you. My guess is sometime in 2010, it would be cool if it was December 2009 so I could get it for christmas, but until then us Americans will be playing the Japanese rom (when it comes out)

Even though translation for the game does take awhile and new features keeps back the progress, I wouldn't count them as a large issue of keeping it back. Translation for almost the same expressions or words that will be used for the Pokémon following you would be basic repitition except for minor changes depending on the Pokémon following you. Some of the phrases used in previous games have been used before in the newer games and will be easily formatted and translated. So, yes translations keeps back progress, but there is also the fact of disabling the Game Corner because of new European laws and the fact of issuing millions of copies and shipping around the world as well. So, translation is just a small fraction of things that will keep back the release of the game, but basically the main part of that fraction as a whole.

However, I still would expect March to be around the time for the US release and about mid May to early June for Europe's release of the games. I don't think nothing should be too far spaced from what we had with Platinum. However, like said, things can happen during a time period like this, but I wouldn't count on much delay. As for December, that is actually when I think we may get word of an estimated release date for the US, but I wouldn't think it'll come out that fast [I would love for that to happen though].

Nintendo did hold back the release of Fire Red and Leaf Green to Sept. 2004 so it would be the 6th Anniversary of Red /Blue and 10th for Japan. The games should be held back to exactly October 2010 for American Audiences if the trend continues.

If not, the remakes very well could be released early April 2010.
