    I just suddenly got an idea by looking at PGN's thread. My idea is a bad rep abuse form, for if a member recieves an abusive reputation. (Duh. XD) On this form, they provide their username, their rep comment (if one), and other reasons why they find the rep they got to be abusive. So, what'cha think? ^_^

    Showing who send you the rep.Nice Idea.

    This would be worse.=.='

    Letting people know you reported them will fuel this even more.>.<;

    No no, you misunderstand. It's a form that sends an email to the higher staff, or something like that. The person you reported won't know who it was. ^_^ The form isn't hard either, just a simple php mail command. =D

    I think they should do one of two things:

    Disable rep, and tell people to build actual reputation with others based on posting.

    Or two, just remove their responsibility from rep completely. Tell people to either deal with the bad rep, or turn it off. Simple as that. Odds are anyone who is giving you abusive rep won't start up again if you just disable it for a few days, or something. Either way, their stance is pretty unclear on this.

    Really, rep is not a big deal either way. It's inflated to be much more of a problem than it is, by the intolerant and those seeking trouble.

    Well, rep is only what other people think of you, and if they feel the need to abuse that, then good for them, but some people take it too far. For example, I got a bad rep from somebody trying to insult me with homosexual references. That's just plain abusive. (For the record, it didn't do anything considering they had a negative rep amount.) But anyway, I just got this idea when I was looking at PGN's thread, that's all. ^_^;

    Oh, I know. ^_^; Not saying you are, I'm just discussing rep in general.

    As for the one you mentioned…it happens, it's the internet. You know their comment was meaningless and stupid, and you can ignore it. You just kind of have to. It's either that, or choke rep with far too much regulation.

    To be truthful, it didn't really bug me, but other people could be really offended by those sorts of comments... (And yes, I know who it was.)

    Oh,I thought you ment a forum.=.='

    Stupid me.

    Nice idea Ty.It could be linked on the Nav bar even,and used easily like that.

    I think a solution to this problem would be to let only the staff give reputation because they would give it wisely. They were made staff because they are responsible and trustworthy so you know they will give rep, good or bad, when it is needed.

    Someone with full rep gave me some good rep just because I joined and now it skyrocketed up to almost 400 pts.

    I'd argue your first point, but then I'd get yelled at. *laughs*
    I think it'd be more favoritism if only a select group was allowed to give rep. Rep is meaningless. So many people who say that don't listen to it. If someone curses at you in a rep, shrug it off! If you don't want to see it in your usercp, just PM them. If one person does this to a lot of people, just full out ban them. Idiots should be banned no matter how they show their stupidty, be it in PMs, posts, or rep comments.

    As for the rest of good and bad rep, just ignore it, or turn it off. Seriously. No one cares if you got bad rep, and neither should you. Stuff happens. Got a bad rep? Pfft, so? Maybe you even deserved it, or maybe you didn't. Doesn't matter. No drastic measures have to be taken, this problem is far more minor than it's allowed to be presented as.

    Abby's so smart, she should be an admin. *nods*

    People that whine about rep abuse are annoying. Reputation is a karma system. Meaning that you should get as much bad as you get good.

    I'm not going into details, but certain staff have done their fair share of rep abuse. Not really much point restricting it to them.

    It's not my fault I have an insanely high rep amount either... x_X;

    Kairi and JKaizer you have good points. *goes to turn of rep* I just realized it is stupid. Your reputation doesnt show how good or bad you are. It basically shows how much people do or dont like you.

    Ah... that's where I messed up in explaining. Rep has nothing to do with what others think of you, but rather what they think of the posts they give you rep on. However, people nowadays like to give rep on random posts just because that post was made by a friend, and some people just give out rep - mostly bad - for absolutely no reason.

    I think we are all seriously taking the reputation too seriously. Anyway this is a good idea, but wont it be easier and faster if you PM a Praetor/Admin about this. Until about June, the rep system was fairly unabused, after that ofcourse everyone started getting Repz saying "DOODz GiVe mE RepZ". So currently the rep system tells you absolutely nothing about a member.

    With regards to rep in general, a person's rep doesn't reflect who they are -your posts do that. I'll basically say what i've said before:
    When you receive bad rep, just ignore it. I'm sure that most people receive a lot more good rep than bad. Some people are very petty in their bad repping but everyone should just ignore it as to be honest it makes the member who gave the rep look worse than the member they gave it to, since it is very petty and immature. If you are receiving continual bad rep, or rep with offensive language then PM one of the higher staff and we will look into it (to see whether it is given by one member, in which case it will be dealt with).
    If rep does bother you to that great an extent, you can just turn it off ^^;

    With regards to report rep system, we have had the idea put to us before: https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/23536
    The problem is that members would report every bad rep they received, whether or not they deserved it, as noone likes bad rep and wouldn't want to believe that it was justified to receive it. I've had a report before complaining about a bad rep which was actually defendable, and it would therefore be a worry that if the report system were set up most of the reports would just be from people who dont like receiving bad rep, irrelevant of the reasons.

    I'm surprised rep bothers some people this much ^^; -rep is really just a nice extra where you can read comments left and feel good that someone appreciated your post, as opposed to actually being a physical display of your true reputation on PC. Pointless bad rep is immature but nothing to worry about (however if it is continual or heavily abusive then PM higher staff).
    The fact that threads keep coming up based on reputation do suggest that people really cant just see it as just some fun, so the maybe the possibility of turning off rep altogether will have to be considered

    Ill lookon vb.org, there must be a hack for it

    i really wanted to see a hack to have all reputation pips invisible cause they are annoying the hell outta me.
