Request an Individual Move Set Thread

Not open for further replies.
I don't know about the moveset but that's your idea for the moveset but this is my suggestion.

Name: Salamence @ Choice Specs
Nature: Naughty/Adamant
EV'S: 232 ATK/252 SPD/24 SP ATK
Ability: Intimidiate
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Fire Blast

Eww, i so hope you meant Choice band

Anyways, as for my query is this

[PokeCommunity.com] Request an Individual Move Set Thread

Deoxys speed.

I know what my set is going to be but im really uncertain for one of the slots. Its the fastest spiker in the game, so i want to abuse that.

Deoxys-S@leftovers
220 HP / 252 SP.ATT / 36 speed
Modest Nature
Trait : Pressure
- Psychic
- Spikes / Stealth Rock
- Recover
- Thunderbolt / Ice Beam / Toxic / Focus Blast / Knock off / Taunt ?.

The last slot as you can see is a huge problem, each move so useful, however im not sure what to run. Thunderbolt for Gyarados, Ice Beam for dragons, Toxic breaks stuff, Focus Blast for Tyranitar and weavile who want to pursuit me, knock off is awesome and cripples stuff. Taunt stops stuff using me as set up fodder, and me getting statused.

im also thinking 160 HP / 252 SP.ATT / 96 Speed @Timid to outrun scarf chomp, but Deoxys base hp is suckage. Base 50 =/

I need alot of help with this

Cough ^^^^

Why is Choice Specs gross, he said that he needed some examples for his SPECSmence.

You have all physical attacks with an Item that powers up Special attacks =/. He also wanted a MIXmence. Read

Salamence @ Life orb
Rash
Intimidate
EVs: suggestions?
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Roost
- Brick Break

I keep playing with various EV spread, suggestions?

120 ATT / 252 SP.ATT / 136 SPEED works like a charm ;)

I'd need a moveset for my Magneton, it would be preferable if he could be half annoyer and half special sweeper. If by any chance there is a better pokemon with about the same moveset , could anyone tell me (with a moveset) thanks!

Here he currently is:

Magneton @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
Evs: 58 Hp, 200 Speed and 252 Special Attack
Jolly Nature (so I can put a bit of Hp Evs)

- Thunder Wave
- Supersonic
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute

Also if the stronger Pokemon also have Confuse Ray instead of Supersonic.

someone wanted a Staraptor set?

Staraptor@Choice Band *This is going to hurt you more than it's going to hurt me.*
Jolly
252atk/252spd/6HP

Brave Bird
Return
Close Combat
U-Turn/Pursuit

Pursuit you'll have to breed for, but it'll nail pokemon swapping out, namely Exeggutor (If Raptor is considered BL), Azelf, and a few other threats. Brave Bird + massive attack + not-resisted = major pain. Use U-Turn to just Intimidate something, damage your opponent, and get out of there to a counter.

Scarf is an option, but go Adamant and less speed, more HP in that case (since 299 speed + Scarf is commonly overkill.)

Is the Magneton is a FireRed/LeafGreen/Emerald or D/P?

I need a decent Bulky Sweeping Gardy set. So far:

Gardevoir@Leftovers/Life Orb/Choice Scarf
Calm Nature
252 Sp.Def 252 Sp.Atk 6 HP
Calm Mind/Psychic
Grass Knot/Energy Ball
Thunderbolt/Focus Blast/Toxic/Thunder Wave
Shadow Ball

As you can see...I'm stuck.

Me Likes CMVoir :)
But yeah, base 70 HP isnt all too bulky with only 4HP EVs, so move them around a bit. I use CM/Psy/TBolt/EnergyBall for mine, but ill go find the standard
*Scurries Away*

Milotic

I have a BOLD Milotic. I would like to have a good moveset and EVs. So far my moveset is:
Surf
Ice Beam
Rest
Sleep Talk

Ok, can I get the EVs? And can a mod please move this to where it belongs.

If you don't mind I can help make the teams for people via Action Replay.

Um, AR isn't allowed on this forum, and nobody would really want to do it the lazy way.

I mean, if you use it, fine, whatever floats your boat, but most others doesn't wanna cheat to make the team.

Most importantly, this is about helping to build your OWN team, not magically making one for oter people. Nice to offer, though.

Thinking of this for a Lucario. Please give any suggestions about it. Also, can someone give me suggestions about Vacuum Wave? I can't get a Hitmonchan even when I train a Bold natured Tyrogue. I know how to get one but attack is always higher than def which annoys me so I might swap out Vacuum Wave. Anyways, this is what it looks like.

Name:Lucario
Item:Choice Specs
Nature:Modest
EV Spread:252 Attack 252 Speed 6HP
Moveset:
-Aura Sphere
-Dragon Pulse
-Dark Pulse
-Psychic or Vacuum Wave

~Going for the Special Attacker/Sweeper. Aura Sphere never misses and Psychic just wastes a lot of things that come in his way.Dragon Pulse to help with those pesky Dragon types and Shadow Pulse for Psychic/Ghost type back-up. I don't know how common Psychic is but I think it will work better than Vacuum Wave. 2 Fighting moves is bulky IMO.

Vacuum Wave has one use over Aura Sphere; Priority. Hi Weavile! Bye Weavile!

Lucario@Choice Specs
Modest
252sp.atk/252spd/6HP

Aura Sphere
Shadow Ball (these two hit everything at least neutral)
HP Ice/Dragon Pulse (Dragon pounding vs. neutral coverage)
Vacuum Wave/Psychic (more coverage vs. Priority)

Mine runs the first 4 moves. More are personal preferences. Also, just keep on trying for Hitmonchan. You'll enjoy that Vacuum Wave.

Lucario@Life Orb
Adamant
252atk/252spd/6HP

Swords Dance
Extremespeed
Close Combat
Crunch/Stone Edge

Crunch lols at ghosts. This set is also a major beast. Extremespeed is priority and hits things much quicker than you for a lot.

Also, I think you mean 252sp.atk/252spd/6HP on your Lucario.

Yeah, I meant Special Attack. Sorry if I confused you. Yeah, might just do that, take a whole bunch of Tyrogue's with me to the pokemon league and own them over and over again until I get a Hitmonchan. Then train that until it learns VW (Vacuum Wave not Volkswagon) at LV26 (I think). I was just thinking Psychic because Hitmonlee and Hitmontop were pissing me off. I trained them both to level 24 (whilst they were Tyrogue) and still I couldn't get the Chan. This may take longer than I thought. I'll replace the Psychic if I get the Hitmonchan by the end of tonight.

Lol celebi

getting hitmonchan is easy.

for

Hitmonchan, tyrogue's attack>defense before it evolves
hitmonlee , tyrogue needs more def than attack
hitmontop, tyrogue needs equal defense and attack.

so use vitamins >.>

instead of shadow ball, you can use dark pulse and get a chance to flinch them, but fighting types can resist dark pulse.

i got a question.

could someone recommend me some good physical leads?
im planning on using weavile at this stage, but not too sure.

I use a set like that aswell, but the one i have most success with is Rest/Sleep Talk/Rapid Spin/Surf. Weird, but it works =p

I need alot of help with this

I'd personally go for Ice Beam if you are using the 160 HP / 252 SP.ATT / 96 Speed @Timid set, as what is the point in outrunning Scarfchomp if you can't have a shot at KOing it (correct me if I'm wrong), I also don't see much point in Psychic, I know it gets STAB, but Psychic doesn't have too good coverage so you could replace it with Knock Off or Taunt to cripple walls. However Thunderbolt, Focus Blast and Toxic are all useful options.

I can see why you're having trouble choosing a set, it has so many options, I guess it depends on the rest of your team, and what your team is most weak to, then you can decide on the moveset, I hope that helped.

EDIT: @ Kirioroshi

Top 20 Leads according to Shoddy Battle (March 2008)

Gengar (16590 leads)
Bronzong (14887 leads)
Gyarados (12517 leads)
Tyranitar (11043 leads)
Salamence (8894 leads)
Yanmega (8120 leads)
Hippowdon (7595 leads)
Ninjask (7485 leads)
Azelf (6478 leads)
Infernape (6109 leads)
Abomasnow (5957 leads)
Weavile (5770 leads)
Swampert (5621 leads)
Metagross (5484 leads)
Crobat (4933 leads)
Jolteon (4682 leads)
Roserade (4665 leads)
Aerodactyl (4329 leads)
Zapdos (4166 leads)
Ambipom (3452 leads)

I know they're not all physical leads, but that is a list of the most common leads. Weavile does make a good lead, and a good revenge killer.

Yeah, i suppose i could drop psychic, by me thinks that it will be useful for Tenta, gengar etc, so meh.

Ill probably just end up using Knock Off/Ice Beam or Thunderbolt/Recover/SR or Spikes, then i can Knock Off whatever wants to come in on me to see what item they pack, namely a Choice band from T-Tar or Weavile so they cant ohko me with Pursuit. <I love using the move Pursuit, but hate it when its agains me XD

Thanks anyways, thats helped me quite a bit.
