Still pretty beefy in OU, with support. Garchomp with a Swords Dance boost & Life Orb using Outrage does about

Move Damage: 139 - 164
Damage: 39.27% - 46.33%

On a Max HP/0 Def Steelix. And he can counter with Ice Fang, or Big Bang. Or just Gyro Ball. Just something to throw out there.

But that's something he counters :D I'm talking about his weaknesses. A reliable wall and/or tank should be able to take a hit from something that can hit it for SE.

Nope, not entirely. Just talking about his weaknesses doesn't make him weak. He has plenty of good points. So little pokes, hell, so little steel type can't switch in, nor can they counter it. He walls what he walls, and he walls em pretty good.

Still, the lack of an instant, no sleep recovery hurts. =-[

And I'm talking about UU in OU >.> And Cress doesn't get destroyed by Pursuit like a lot of people think. They stay in, take it, Reflect, and heal up. Steelix can only rest, thus making him subjectable to repeated Surfs.

Yes, and in the same vein as Cress can set up reflect steelix can Toxic your bulky water on the switch in.

Of course its subjectable to repeated surfs, but in all fairness, who in the right mind would keep it in.

"X pokemon cannot wall/ perform well because of X weakness" is a moot point. "Oh noes we cant use Ceelbi, cos Scizor owns it", "oh noes, every team has an ice move so we cant use garchomp", see, its a useless arguement

if you read my post i was infact naming UU pokemon that wall electivire and that it wouldnt impact the metagame much, (Jokingly) not how steelix walls in ou. Of course steelix may now do aswell in OU as it can in UU, but thats because things hit harder, but i reiterate, i DID not at any one point, suggest that steelix should be used in OU. Still it can fill niches, like switch into Outrages even in OU like sims said.

Oh my, yes. So we gotta use him carefully. He doesn't wall like he used to, so we use him towall specific threats. I use a RestGrumpig, and it works wonders. But that's besides the point. Yeah...

Still, he can be used in OU indeed, if ya know what your doing.

You're making it seem as if I was trying to point out bad things with your post. And very rarely can Steelix survive a Surf with something that has a high SpA

Grumpig is cool, counters Mixape. A huge accomplishment for a UU Pokemon.

.

I give up seriously.

You didnt read my previous post did you ?

"No one in the right mind would keep it in, thats what the rest of you team is for"

"X pokemon has X weakness, so cant perform well" is a moot point.

You weren't paying any attention either, right? It doesn't suck at all, nor is it unplayable in OU. As I said, Garchomp doesn't even 3HKO a 0 Def, max HP Steelix.

Everybody's so testy today :( Let us join hands in song. Not a hymn to war, but something cool, calmm, like the Canadian national anthym.

UUs are great.

Bibarel ♥

There are two Bibarel sets I just love.

First is the Smogon Special Attack set
Bibarel @ Leftovers / Life Orb
6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Simple Ability
Modest Nature
- Charge Beam
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Grass Knot / Super Fang

Simple will make Charge Beam give you +2 Sp. Atk with each boost, which is just awesome. On UU, use Grass Know for Lanturn and Quagsire. On OU, use Super Fang so Blissey thinks twice before switching in.

And the other set is an original one I've used with a lot of success;
Bibarel @ Leftovers
232 HP / 100 Def / 136 SpD / 40 Atk
Unaware Ability
Impish Nature
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Waterfall
- Super Fang

Those EVs provide one of the best defensive spreads for Bibarel. Just Super Fang everything you can- and finish them off with Waterfall. Then you can just Rest all damage, but still get some Super Fangs with Sleep Talk. With Unaware, they can't set up on you, and you can send this on stuff like CM Suicune even after it has used 6 Calm Minds, resist the Surf, and take out 50% of its HP. It's a quite fun set. :3

Best weezing moveset anyone.

Weezing @ Leftover
Nature : Bold
EV's : 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe

Sludge Bomb
Thunderbolt / Will-O-Wisp
Haze
Pain Split

Physical wall and a great fighting (especially Heracross) counter. Generally I go with Will-O-Wisp in place of Haze but that is the Smogon set right there.

GLISCOR SUXX CUZ HE CN'T LIEV A IEC BEEM OLOLOLOLOLOL

XDDDD

Ummm, dont you mean Powder Snow ? lol

Best weezing moveset anyone.

You can use the one posted above, or there is this.

Weezing@leftovers
252 HP / 176 DEF / 80 SP.ATT
Bold/Relaxed Nature Nature
- Pain Split / Explosion
- Hidden power Ice
- Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower / Fire Blast

Basically anti dragon, hera and Gyara etc all in one (Sweeper buffer). Its a more offensive set, so boom is perfectly acceptable, if you want sacrifice durability and for those people who think Blissey is a good counter =).

80 Sp.att evs guarantee a 2hko on yache Chomp which is cool, Fire Blast can OHKO Roserade, so that may be a worthwhile investment

EDIT @ Archer, this is the most useful set ive used for Bibarel >_>

Bibarel@leftovers
Jolly nature
232 HP / 80 Def / 80 Sp.D / 116 Spe
- Super Fang
- Waterfall
- Taunt
- Thunderwave / Yawn

Bulky Beaver, Yawn/T-wave then punish those switches with probably the most broken move in the game, super fang, Taunt recovery attempts etc =).

Speed lets you outpace Bulky Gyara and no speed Gliscor.

Oh how I'd love to link for this...

One of my set developers on Defender made this set and gave me clearance to advertise it. He says it works, but I've never used it.

Clefable @ Toxic Orb
EVs: 84 HP / 164 Atk / 132 Def / 100 SAtk / 24 SDef
Nature: Brave (Atk+/Spd-)
-Facade
-Fling/Toxic
-Fire Blast
-Softboiled

It's a Toxic/Facade set that takes no damage from being poisoned. Fling is a once-off Knock Off and Toxic in one move, though if you want to spread poison Toxic is better. Fire Blast kills a lot of stuff that can wall you, and Softboiled to heal.

It looks good on paper, but I really don't know how well it works. I'm taking the word of one of my analysis writers here, so don't flak me.

Does anybody know any good movesets for Clefable?

Clefable@Leftovers/ Life orb
252 HP / 152 Def / 104 Sp.At
Bold Nature
Trait : magic Guard
- Calm mind
- Thunderbolt
- ice Beam
- Softboiled

I however, prefer Hidden power fighting + Shadow ball on this for attacking options, as it covers everything in the game for at lest neutral =)

Ivs also used this set, its kinda funky

Clefable@Leftovers / Burn orb
252 HP / 252 SP.DEF / 4 DEF
Calm Nature
Trait : Magic Guard
- Softboiled
- Stealth Rock / Light Screen / Wish
- Toxic / Thunderwave
- Seismic Toss / Ice beam / Flamethrower

Blissey with weight loss =p.

Thanks to both of you.
But would you recommend using Clefable in the first place?
I'm also curious about a moveset for Drifbloon's evolution (Blimp-something...)
