GOLDUCK
Cloud Nine
-Cross Chop
-Waterfall
-Confuse Ray
-Substitute

You need a powerful stab.keep waterfall.Get rid of cross chop for focus punch.Other options include zen hedbutt and ice punch.

Looking for a moveset and ev spread for the following mespirit i SR'ed
Thinking of Trick room,Lead sorta thing.

Mespirit @ Leftovers(?)
Brave,Levitate
Ivs : 9/29/21/15/29/0
Evs: 252 hp/124 def/96 sp.def/36 att(?)
~Trick Room
~U-turn
~Reflect/Stealth Rock
~Light Screen/Stealth Rock

Hows that?

I have a

GOLDUCK
Cloud Nine
-Cross Chop
-Waterfall
-Confuse Ray
-Substitute

EV'd 252 Spe/ 252 Atk / 4 HP and level is open for EV edit (Lv 73)

Its not doing as good as I like. I want to keep the CROSS CHOP, SUBSTITUTE & CONFUSE RAY.

Should I SUBSTITUTE + FOCUS PUNCH for the edit?

I've never seen a Golduck used as a Physical attacker. I'd suggest a mixed attacker instead because he can operate efficiently in OU battles. Go with Focus for Subpunching, and throw in Leftovers for that Sub. But still, I strongly suggest a mixed attacker if you are competing in OU.

So by 'Focus' do you mean Focus Blast?
So by 'mixed' does Golduck want Surf?

EDIT: Yeah, the Cross Chop was an Egg Move thing anyway...

So Waterfall, Substitute, Focus Punch & ZenButt? With a Leftovers?
I don't really 'know' these things.
------------------------------------------------
I have other Pokemon that are weird...

For Golduck, if you're going to use it in the standard tier, you're going to need Cross Chop, but try this.

Golduck@Life Orb
Mild, Cloud Nine
104atk/252sp.atk/152 speed

Cross Chop
Surf/Hydro Pump
Ice Beam
HP Electric/Hypnosis

This is your best bet. If you can't get Hidden Power, just pop in Hypnosis to put an expected counter to sleep.

This is for Diamond/Pearl, where Hypnosis is actually rather accurate.

By Focus, I mean Focus Punch... you asked it yourself.

By mixed, I mean:

*smogon.com link removed*
Golduck
Leftovers
Nature: Mild
Cloud Nine
EVs: 104 Atk / 252 SpA / 152 Spe

Hydro Pump
Cross Chop*
Ice Beam
HP Electric

OR you can use the Subpunching moveset as well. I all depends upon you.

I'm more for UU / NU

...you're going to need Cross Chop, but try this.

Golduck@Life Orb
Mild, Cloud Nine (Mine is Naive *shot*)
104atk/252sp.atk/152 speed

Cross Chop
Surf/Hydro Pump
Ice Beam
HP Electric/Hypnosis

This is your best bet. If you can't get Hidden Power, just pop in Hypnosis to put an expected counter to sleep.

My Hidden Power is Fire. Hit Iron Island Steelix for similar damage to Mud Bomb, but Mud Bomb tended to be stronger.

This is for Diamond/Pearl, where Hypnosis is actually rather accurate.

I seldom have Hypnosis. Sleep Powder, Spore, and Dark Void are my sleep choices.

But I dunno if Dark Void is OU viable (Double Battle Smeargle lulz)

If this is D/P then Hypnosis's accuracy is nearly on par with Sleep Powder :/
Stick with HP Electric else you'll never get past Gyarados.
Go with Mild nature, Golduck needs the extra power.

I'd go with this rather than anything else.
Ice beam for grass types, surf/hydro for STAB, CChop for coverage, Hypnosis for everything else.

I agree.

And to punch extra dents, Life Orb is a choice, but Leftovers is your best bet.

Okay, my little brother got his petty revenge on me a while back and deleted my diamond save, so Ive finally decided to start again. And it's been that long that I've entirely forgotten about movesets, so yeah ... Ive checked serebii for the stats and know about EVs still, though.
Team planned,
Weavile
Scizor
Blissey
Dugtrio
Gengar
Lucario
Just a good ol' fashioned head-on attacking team, basically. Please review and help with movesets please =3
I'm willing to change anything in there.

move set

Is this a good move set for a Poliwrath?
Blizzard
Body slam
Earthquake
Hydro pump
My poliwrath is best in hp + atk.
P.S. I know this isn't related but he's Shiny! I just wanted to brag! =)

Hey guys. Decided to make a UU team for no apparent reason.
This is what I have so far:

Lopunny@Iron Ball
Timid
Klutz
236 HP / 164 Def / 108 Spe
Baton Pass
Agility
Magic Coat
Switcheroo

Baton Passing Agility is for my Marowak that I will post below. Switcheroo an Iron Ball onto levitating/ghosts to make them vulnerable to EQ.

Marowak@Thick Club
Adamant
Rock Head
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Swords Dance
EarthQuake
Double-Edge
Fire Punch

Swords Dance might be overkill anyway, but it can come in handy. Marowak's speed can be helped with Lopunny's Agility and Baton Pass.

Now, I don't know much about Competitive Battling; but I thought I'd give it a try.
First of all, is this even a good strategy?
Second, what should I build around these two with?

As a suggestion...Maybe a lagging tail on Lopunny would work better as you're not going to be seeing Levitate/Flyers all the time...Just a suggestion.

Anyway...What EVs are best for a Scarf Infernape with this set:

Infernape @ Choice Scarf

-Overheat
-ThunderPunch
-Close Combat
-HP Ice

I was thinking:

232SpAtk/232Spe/46Atk

But...I'm not sure..What do you think? Should I change the moveset in anyway? Should I Change EVs? I'm not sure :S

I use Naive @ 192 SPEED / 252 SP.ATT / 64 ATT

Beats all scarf + speed base 100's. >: Also OHKO's Calm Blissey with SR up IIrc.

I also like U-Turn >> T-Punch because it at least does something to Lati@s (Does ~45%) and it good for scouting purposes. So its up to you really in that regards.

Choice Items provide vital boosts in damage (or with Scarf, speed) to pull off a certain role.

Here's a general example. You can take Salamence and give it Dragon Dance/Outrage/Earthquake/Fire Blast. However, to deal the damage needed, you need that attack boost. Well, throw in a Choice Band and another attacking move, and there's your damage, right on the spot.

Choice Scarf allows for revenge killing certain threats. For example, you're facing a Gyarados who has Dragon Danced and threatens to sweep your team. You send out your Choice Scarf Gengar, who is faster than said Gyarados thanks to Choice Scarf, and you happily either force it out or OHKO it with Thunderbolt/kill it with another move should it be low enough.

Anyone know a special base somewhat bulky pokemon that resists Fire and Psychic? Stealth Rock resistance would be nice too.

edit: don't say Tyranitar or Heatran, please.

Starmie's nice (though it lacks the SR resist).
