Having a bit of trouble...

Deoxys-D, Leftovers
Calm Nature
252 HP/176 Def/80 S.Def
Pressure
Recover
Cosmic Power
Ice Beam/Toxic
Thunderbolt/Superpower

Was trying to make a Deoxys-D that could boost it's defenses higher, but still be able to attack. I was thinking of Toxic, but Steel-types became and issue...

The thing is, Cosmic Power really only gets you into an enormous stall war. You can't really hurt your opponent besides trying to toxic them, and even then you're totally walled by steels. None of your attacks will hurt enough to KO anything, so you're basically relying on toxic to deal damage. I'm not too experienced with Ubers, but I'd say it's probably not a good idea.

Was thinking of making a clefable for a staller/blissey counter

Clefable@ leftovers
252 hp/252 def/ 6 speed
Relaxed
-drain punch
-protect
-toxic
-softboiled

Drain Punch with no attack EVs isn't even a 2HKO on Blissey, so you won't be able to beat it. This set is also totally walled by steel types >.<

What Aura said.

Clefable beats all blissey one vs one with nearly all its sets anyway (minus its specs set) even the calm minder owns blissey 1 vs one, but Drain Punch is a really poor option.

It seems like you are trying to mix support with offense, this wont work stick to one job and that is what clefable shines at. You have a whole host of sets to choose from so either offensive or support.

How about this?

Deoxys-D, Leftovers
Calm Nature
252 HP/176 Def/80 S.Def
Pressure
Recover
Calm Mind
Ice Beam/Toxic/Shadow Ball
Hidden Power Fighting/Thunderbolt

Same Pokemon, different moves? HP Fighting to deal with Steels.

Special ones should have higher Special Attack and Speed IV's.

Yeah, I'd like him to be a special sweeper so I should look for high in speed and sp attack and I'm going to get a timid nature to boost speed.

If I were to get 30/31 in speed and 29/31 in sp attack, should I keep him or is there a big benefit to having 1 or 2 different.

Also, what's the bare minimum IVs I should have in the other stats?

Erm move this if it needs to be moved but...

...how do you EV train? And what do they do? What do certain natures do? I just put it here because I thought it'd different for D/P/Pl than other games so I didn't put it into general gaming.

Natures affect stat growth.
They give a stat a 10% increase, but also decrease a stat by 10%

What would be the best moveset for my Empoleon?

I reccomend this.

Empoleon@Petaya Berry
12 HP / 12 DEF / 252 SP.ATT / 232 SPEED
Modest Nature
- Agility
- Substitite
- Surf
- Ice Beam

Agility to increase your mediocre speed and then Sub down to activate the Petaya Berry AND Torrent and start smacking things about. Evs let you beat + speed nature Scarf Tran after an Agility and other pokemon just above.

This is good with Toxic Spikes support to cripple potential counters such as Vaporeon, Rest-less suicune and S-Toss-less Blissey and other waters.

How do you do UU? I suck at it so bad.

Here is my most recent attempt at a team:

• Clefable
• Mismagius
• Hitmonlee
• Honchkrow
• Weezing
• Pikachu

The only two Pokémon that have have even come close to working are Toxic Orb abuse Clefable and… Mix Pikachu… no really… Pikachu…

I have no idea what the threats are, and I am stuck between going with what I know in OU (All-out offence) and trying to create something with Spikes and Toxic Spikes and Roar and that sort of thing.

I am SURE I want to use Clefable because its been in every team Ive made, and been the only thing close to useful on Shoddy, but other than that I am completely lost in UU.

Help?

Ninetales help.

Basically i want a ninetales:
So i want the energy ball, hypnosis, will o wisp and flamethrower move set. So i need a male stantler with both those moves and also a female ninetales.

So am i right in thinking, that i should get a timid nature? But then what shall i raise with ev training (this is the thing where you battle specific pokemon to boos the raising of certain stats upon level up?) Sp attack so it packs even more power to its moves? then what about the power brace items etc? what shall i give it?

Yeah, you're going to want Timid nature.

Speed and Special Attack, those are its best stats.

Power Lens while EV training it in Sp. Attack, Power Anklet when EV training it in Speed.

So what shall i do, battle speed boosting poke while wearing a sp attck boosting item???

No. battle a speed boosting poke while wear the speed boosting item, and same goes with sp. attack.

So say the max evs you can get is 200 battle 100 speed boosting poke with speed item, and 100 sp attck poke with sp attck item?

How many evs can vulpix get, (shall i train it as vuplix then evolve it at the end?)
so how many of certain pokemon would i need to battle?

The max EVs you can get in 1 stat is 255, but the max EVs you can get period is 510.... If you have Pokerus, you're going to battle 25 Gastlys (or another 1 Sp. attack EV giving pokemon) and then battle one without the Power Lens. You're then going to want to do the same thing but with Starlys (or another 1 Speed EV giving pokemon).

^, and it doesn't matter.

so i want to battle 260 1 sp attck pokemon while wearing a sp attck boosting item, then 260 1 speed boosting pokemon while wearing a speed boosting item???
what are these pokemon? is there nay set level they need ot be or will a level 7 ghastly give them same as lvl 72????

sorry to keep going on but this is very confusing!

Should i replace tropius with torterra?

Either way why?

and if so, what should i ev train it to do, moveset etc? im a total newb, so im a bit hard to explain stuff too.

Fire Punch or Overheat

I ev trained my dragonite in attack and speed. 252 each and its nature is speed+ and defense-

Its current moveset is

Earthquake
Outrage
Fire Punch
Aqua Tail

I was wondering, would Overheat do more damage than Fire punch in this situation?
