Caelyn had strolled along the impossibly long train, hands tightly grasping the book she held. Her little pet slept inside the hood of her shirt, and she was thankful for it. She could already feel her heart racing, cheeks turning pink for no apparent reason; if her Jay~Jay wasn't near her she didn't know if she could fight her growing anxiety. She would probably faint! It didn't help that she couldn't find any compartments that were empty: that would mean she would have to talk to someone, which just raised so many fears she had. Fears which, really, made no sense to her.
Despite only spending minutes with the students from Hogwarts, she couldn't but feel relieved. The students seemed really nice; the first-years were so enthusiastic and buoyant that she couldn't help but feel delight washing over her apprehension. So, she couldn't quite understand what was troubling her. This was already thrice…no, make that ten times better than Beauxbatons. No girls forcing her to do something embarrassing—she'd rather not think about it—and no one poking fun at her for her not-so-good use of French (not that she was so horrible, but for them, it was the worse).
It wasn't until she heard voices before she had snapped out of her thoughts. There were three of them seemingly conversing, albeit one was far back, leaning against the door of the compartment. Almost instantly, Caelyn's cheeks reddened and her hands were clutching her book ever firmer, it was Shakespeare, just so you know. Her amethyst orbs briefly scanned the compartment the girl was in front of and, with lips faintly quivering, walked towards the younger girl. The other two, students who looked like her age, seemed busy with their pets so she decided not to bother them.
"H-hi, there," She began, mustering whatever courage she had – if she even had any – before continuing, "do you mind if-if I, um, sit in your compartment?" Her cheeks were rapidly turning shades of red, she wasn't just used to…speaking. No, not speaking speaking: she meant being the first one to speak, speaking without being spoken to. Ugh, it's complicated. "I've checked everywhere and I-I just can't seem to find an empty one and…" She stopped herself, smiling apologetically at the girl for rambling, which was just ironic.
