Return to Hogwarts

'Uhh... FREAKY!' Zameena stated firmly, slowly backing away a few steps from Lia. Rehan, a bit surprised himself, paused for a minute, but couldn't help but chuckle at the expression Zameena gave.

'You might want to get used to it, considering you'll be seeing a lot more like that at Hogwarts!'

'So what's with this Slytherin thing, then? They're all stuck-up snobs?' Zameena asked, after hearing what Lia said about the boy's strange behaviour for a slytherin.

'Well... Not all. They're known to be very.. Proud people, I guess? And generally, people with a proud demeanor are more... Uhh...'

'I get it.' Zameena responded with accordance.

'And your from Gryffindor? That must be the loser-house...' She added, playfully.

'So... Wait, those jerks were spraying graffiti on the walls... And you tried stopping them? That was nice of you... But wait -- YOU,' Zameena swiftly pointed at Lia,

'How did you do THAT!?' She asked, referring to the transformation that had occurred earlier.

As I noticed the start I had given Zameena, I burst out laughing. Itwas so funny, the face she made! "I'm sorry! Didn't mean to scare you like that." I appologized. "I'm supposing that you're new, since you were suprised by my transformation?" I asked.

I stared in amazement at Zameena, suprised she didn't know about those jerks! "Heck yes! Most are pretty stuck up and totall creeps!"

"Gryffindor's a pretty cool house! It's one of the best!" I told her. "I mean, in my opinion. The other houses are pretty good as well."

I stared astounded. "No need to be scared, I'm good!" I defended myself. "It's something called being an animagi. It allows you to turn to any animal that you wish, but only one. It takes a lot of years of hard training. It takes a lot of practice to become one, but once you perfect it, it's pretty awesome!"

*pokes Davey-Davey* How could Mari not know you? :3 Oh, and hi~hi! <3

Caelyn heaved a sigh of relief as the girl, Zameena, allowed her to sit with her and what she suspects was her brother. It was comforting to know that she wasn't being made fun of, not yet, and that the students here were very kind. Perhaps Zameena was a little intimidating, but after seeing her smiling, she couldn't help but feel at ease.

Everything was getting…better. Much better.

She took Zameena's outstretched hand, shaking it, before smiling brightly at her. After she released her hand, she took a breath and attempted to speak again. "M-my name is Cae—" But before she had a chance continue, the other girl – the one speaking to the boy Zameena referred to a while ago, Rehan, was it? – had introduced herself as Lia, her confident and friendly tone drowning out Caelyn's timid voice. Despite the sudden coyness she could feel, her smile only widened. "Um…"

Unfortunately, her attempt to speak out was yet again interrupted when Lia ran off, claiming she heard something. Rehan had followed her, then Zameena. Caelyn mentally scolded herself, for being just so…Caelyn-like, before quickly following the three. She made it just in time to see a wolf transform into, into Lia?

She suddenly felt so lost, and when she spotted another boy with them, even more bashful.

'Wow, you must be good at this stuff then!' Zameena stated. She was starting to grow fond of the confidence Lia had been expressing. Then she noticed Mari, almost the exact opposite.

'Hey... Why don't you 3 come with us to our compartment! Let me see if I can remember the names... Caelyn... Lia... And the... Mmm... Askan, did I hear right?' Rehan proceeded, recalling each of the names.

'Well let me start out... My name's Rehan, I'm 16, year 5, from Gryffindor. This is my sister Zameena, she's 13, Year 1, and... It should be interesting to see where she's sorted. And this is Patches.' He added abruptly, leaning over Zameena's arms, and petting the short-haired, white, orange-patched Cat softly on it's head.

As I heard Zameena mention Caelyn I turned around to her. I felt really bad for cutting her off when she was trying to talk to me. It probably didn't help her self-esteem at all. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to cut you off when you were talking." I apologized to her.

Finally! I got the guy's name. "Nice to meet all of you!" I said smiling. "My name is Lia, as I've already told you. I'm in Gryffindor as well, and I'm 15. As of the thing I hold in my hands, it's my puppy Schoocha." I told all of them.

"I'm just as good as all the others. I just really practiced a lot." I said. "Oh really! That would nice, I think mine was taken up by other students. Thanx so much!"

"Hmm, a wolf animagus..." I muttered to myself as I placed my hand on my chin. A cliche jesture, but one I had become accustomed to nonetheless. It took a moment for the question I was asked to sink in. "Oh, sure, I'll come to your compartment. The guy I was with earlier ticks me off anyways. My full name is David N. Blackwater, however I go by the name of Askan most of the time. Also, I'm 16, and I'm in my 5th year this time around. That was when she caught my eye. A new girl had appeared, she looked frail and had auburn hair. She was also... kind of cute.

Maybe... just maybe, this year would be decent. Buut, I still had my little fanclub to endure when I get to school...

Caelyn blinked as Lia apologized to her, head cocking to one side. "Huh? A-ah, no, please don't worry!" She squeaked, waving her hands in a panicky way. "It was my fault, so please don't worry." She continued, voice so soft it could hardly be classified as a whisper. Afterwards, she turned to Rehan and Zameena who had told the group to sit with them, and bowed her head in gratitude. "That would be wonderful, thank you so much." She had tried to speak louder, but it still ended up soft, only slightly louder than her tone before.

The group then began introducing themselves; not just the hi-my-name-is-somethingsomething, but with a bit more detail, like what year they were and the likes. It was like her first year in Beauxbatons, where she almost fainted from her anxiety. Hopefully, she wouldn't to say anything about herself. No one would like to know, anyway. In any case, following Rehan and Zameena's introduction, Lia did the same and Caelyn couldn't help but marvel at her confidence. Next was the other boy, 'Askan' as he said. She thought he had glanced at her, and so she instinctively dropped her eyes to the floor, cheeks flushing.

The fact that she was around two guys dawned on her and she felt increasingly self-conscious. And it wasn't as if she felt comfortable around other girls, even those she knew.

Zameena and Rehan stood in silence, waiting for the last girl to respond.

'... Caelyn, right? What about you?' Rehan asked.

'How old are you? What year are you in? What house?... How many houses are there?' Zameena finally asked, feeling out-of-the-loop.

'I'm guessing you're probably a Hufflepuff, or a Ravenclaw, right? You seem more like a Hufflepuff to me so far... But I don't think I know you well enough to say,' Rehan stated, confidently, then responded to Zameena's question.

'There are only 4 houses; Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. Each house's students generally have the same sort of behaviour and manner. That's why there are so many different stereotypes... Hence the 'Slytherins are jerks' thing...' Zameena affirmed herself with a nod, and then looked back at Caelyn.

'Yeah, so... Tell us a bit about yourself!' Zameena put Patches on the ground and began to readjust her hair-tie, starting to lead the group back to their compartment.

I noticed Askan look at Caelyn and her drop her eyes. I knew she would need some help, she really needed to work on her voice. I could barely hear her when she apologized.

We hadn't heard anything from her yet, like her year or house. "Yeah, come on! We havn't heard anything about you. You look older than a first year, but I still haven't seen you at Hogwarts.?" I asked her. "You can tell us while we're on our way to Zameena's and Rehan's compartment. "Yeah, she does remind you of a Hufflepuff, doesn't she?" Responding to the comment made by Rehan.

"Shure," I said, wand still in my mouth. With it there, I sounded rather friendlier than I normally did. I stepped from the compartment and took a few steps down the hall, leaning against the wall. There, I slipped my wand back into my pocket and crossed my arms over my chest. I began idly listening to the banter. There was a rather large group, they seemed to be talking about Houses. I sighed and closed my eyes, dropping my head to my chest.

As I was walking with the rest of the group with Schoocha in my arms I noticed a boy leaning on the wall of the train. He seemed like he was sleeping with his dead down and eyes closed. As we passed him, Schoocha started barking and growling. I looked at him and noticed it was the same guy from Flourish and Blotts. Schoocha noticed something was wrong with, he knew something wasn't right with that guy. I agreed with Schooch, anybody that comes out of Knocturn Alley has to have something wrong with him.

I smiled softly to myself and pulled out of my clothes, slipping in to my Hogwarts uniform and black robes. Looking to Trilla, I couldn't help but giggle.

"Okay, so I wasn't expecting that. It doesn't mean anything."

Trilla gave me a know-it-all stare, and I glared back before opening the door.

"Leito?" I called softly. "I'm through."

Zameena opened the door to the compartment, noticing Lia's dog had begun to bark at another stranger. Letting everyone into the compartment before her, she nudged over to Lia's side.

'What's with that guy?' She whispered. The small puppy obviously had a reason to be barking at the other student, so out of curiosity, she asked. Meanwhile, Rehan was sitting in the compartment with Patches, still awaiting a response from Caelyn.

'Is everything alright?' He asked, hoping it would make her feel more at ease.

Oh no.

After seating herself next Zameena, Caelyn's grip on her book tightened even more, her nails practically digging into the cover – it was an assurance for her, in a way. It made her feel safe. As usual, her pearly whites automatically bit down on her lip while she forced herself to lift her head.

'Is everything alright?' Rehan had asked, seemingly trying to comfort her. She nodded slowly, but her eyes still refused to make contact.

It would be rude to keep them waiting, so….might as well.

"I'm Caelyn Hayle, and I-I'm fifteen years old," She began, slightly stuttering. Now, as for her house, what was it again? It wasn't the one Lia claimed she was fit for, not Hufflepuff….oh, right, Ravenclaw. "I, um, think I was placed in Ravenclaw." She said uncertainly, again biting down her lips. If her memory was correct, that was what the 'Sorting Hat' told her when she visited a few days ago, right after she was told about transferring to Hogwarts.

"And I...I just transferred from Beauxbatons." She added quickly, before lowering her gaze to the floor once again.

As everyone began to sat down, I just stood up against the wall with my arms crossed. It would be rude to take up space in a seat while in the presence of girls whom may want the space themselves. Besides, standing suited me just fine. Eventually, that girl I had noticed earlier finally introduced herself as Caelyn Hayle, from Beauxbatons.

"So, Caelyn, huh?" I asked aloud, before continuing my train of thought. "That's a nice name, and I've visited Beauxbatons before on... business. Also, Ravenclaw is a nice house. You should like the people there. One of my best friends is a Ravenclaw, actually. I can introduce you to him later if you'd like?" I'd also noticed that she was constantly looking at the ground. "It's okay, you know. I doubt anybody here bites, and I certainly don't. You don't need to be afraid or nervous."

'Actually I'm starting to feel a little hungry...' Rehan joked, hoping he could cut the tension.

'Askan's right, Ravenclaw's a nice house. The people there are normally very friendly, and some of our school's most academic students are from there. You'll have a good time with them,' He concluded, now beginning to think about what house Zameena would get put into... He was becoming more and more excited to find out as each minute passed. Not that he had any preference. He just wanted to see what her expression would be like... Would she know what her house means about her? Or would she sit still, confused. Either way, it would be a site to see.

'Beauxbatons, hm? Je pense que ce... Means... That... tu parlez francais? Wow that was terrible,' Rehan laughed, trying to put his little knowledge of the French language he'd learned from school to use.

'What made you decide to come to Hogwarts, if you don't mind me asking?' Rehan continued. Maybe they could have a steady conversation now to keep the group busy until they reach Hogwarts.

I was finally able to quite Schoocha down. I answered Zameena's question. "I don't know, but I saw him and another girl comeing out of Knocturn Alley. Which in my opinion isn't a good place to be comeing out of. When he fell in Flourish and Blotts, I noticed a couple of markings on his skin." I told her. I thought to stay away from him as much as possible.

I noticed that Askan wasn't sitting down when I entered the compartment. "Why aren't you sitting down? There's plenty of room for all of us." I finally just decided to sit down, without waiting for him to answer. I tried to make as much room as I could.

"So, she came from Beauxbatons?" Thinking to myself. I heard it was a pretty good school. Though I did feel sorry for her for haveing to be stuck with all those girls and no boys. "Ravenclaw?! She seems much more suted for Hufflepuff, but no big." I thought. "Yeah, what made you decide to come here? I've heard that the other school had very good teachers." I asked her. "We'd all like to know, if it's not too much to ask." I added quickly.

Caelyn giggled at Askan and Rehan's remarks, although she was trying hard to cover it. She suddenly felt that all her qualms were just childish, idiotic. It was as Askan had said; it wasn't like they would bite. She finally had enough confidence to actually look up at them, her amethyst eyes brimming with bliss. "I'd love to meet him, Askan," She said in response to his question, "it…it would be easier if I knew someone from the same house, right?" She giggled again as she smiled brightly at them. If anyone could make it past her coy side, she could actually be quite talkative and fun to talk to.

Looking at Rehan, she tilted her head to one side and tapped her lips pensively. She winced a little when he spoke in French but it was hardly visible so she just complimented at how better he was than her. So, anyway, why did she go to Hogwarts? Of course, it was mainly because of the distance-thing, but it was also because… I didn't fit there and all the girls I've met weren't so nice. But she couldn't say the latter part. "Oh, um, it was difficult to go to France then all the way back here. The headmistress thought it was easier if I was transferred here." She left it there, afraid she might say something...unnecessary.

'Ah, well that makes sense.' Rehan stated, feeling a lot more relaxed than before, now that he had some company other than Zameena to spend the trip with.

'Knockturn Alley?... What's that, now? So much to learn...' Zameena thought to herself, keen on finding out as much as she could about this new world without asking anything out-of-place. She figured a question like that was better suited for when fewer people were around, just incase.

'So... How much longer do you think it'll be before we get to school?' she asked the group, sticking to one of the safer questions she had. she pulled her hair to one side, and pulled of her hair-tie, wrestlessly toying with it from wrist to wrist. It didn't take much for Patches to get involved too, as he began to happily bat around at the fabric-covered elastic, feeling a bit wrestless as well.

"Oh, that makes a lot more since." I said. I'd felt kinda stupid now. I felt a lot better when I noticed Caelyn was actually talking to us while looking at us. Looked like we were helping her self-condince grow, a little at least!

I sat there getting really bored. Found some enjoyment in watching Patches and Zameena playing with her band. It was cute to watch them play. "I don't know. But I really hope it's soon this ride has gotten a little boreing. I'm looking foward to getting back to Quiditch!" I said. "How about the rest of you?"
