    I love Pokémon, but I also enjoy the frog-dancing, karate-punching, airplane-badminton-playing, Lizard-music-playing, turnip-stomping, candy-catching, monkey-watch-ticking fun of rhythm heaven! Does anyone else?
     
    I thought I was the only one in this forum who even played Rhythm Heaven!

    Yes, I love it. My second favorite video game franchise as a whole. Wubadubaduba is that true?

    If you never played it before, yes definitely. If you started with Rhythm Heaven Fever expect to be stuck at row 2 for a long while. Eventually you'll get used to it and it gets better from there. You'll find everything easy if you keep playing, but getting a perfect in a level can be a big challenge...and very tense. >_>

    Rhythm Heaven DS is probably the hardest one to start with with all the different (and weird) control options but then Fever's row 2 is pretty brutal for a newcomer (having the infamous monkey watch) as well. Rhythm Tengoku is the best entry to the series but it's japan only, so eh.
     
    I thought that Rhythm Heaven Fever was actually kinda easy! I have a medal in every level. At first, Rhythm Heaven for DS was impossible for me. It took me a week to get past Rhythm Rally because I wouldn't let the Barista help me.

    By the way, does the air rally song sometimes sound like the rhythm rally song? It kinda sounds like it to me.
     
    I would say that out of them, Rhythm Heaven was the hardest, with Fever being challenging. On the other hand, Rhythm Tengoku has some songs (well, one, really) that is pretty much trial and error if you don't know Japanese, but once you pair up the vocal patterns to the actions, you'll get goin'.

    As for which is my favorite...that's a tough one. It's a toss-up between Rhythm Heaven and Fever, no doubt. This isn't to say that I didn't like the GBA one, I liked it a lot, but I think in terms of the songs themselves and the gameplay, it really is between Fever and Heaven.

    It's actually funny how I got into the Rhythm Heaven series. See, when I'd first heard of it, it was on a commercial on TV featuring Beyonce. I almost immediately assumed it was shovelware...that is, until I played the demo. Boy, was I wrong. After that, pretty much the first chance I got, I bought the game, and I've been a fan ever since.
     
    When it comes to perfecting each levels Fever is probably the hardest of the three. The DS game is only hard imo because it takes time getting used to the variety of touch screen controls but once you get a medal there's not really much of a challenge in getting a perfect. (I'd say both versions of Moai do Woop, Rockers and Rhythm Rally are the only hard ones to perfect, really. :P)

    Fever got the devils that are Monkey Watch, Tap Troupe (funny story, I managed to get a perfect on this one without the chance, but after that I never managed to do it when I did get it), Love Rap, Figure Fighter, Lobster March, Fishing, etc. Fever is the opposite of DS, where getting a medal is easy but perfects can be beyond frustrating. And of course, Fever has the hardest remixes in the series. (Godammit remix 2, 8 and 10.)

    Tengoku is the easiest of the two but it's so varied and diverse I'm willing to excuse that. <3
     
    Some of the songs in rhythm heaven are actually serious and could be... like regular songs! Think about the ones with words, like "Struck by the Rain" and "I Love You, my One and Only". I really enjoy singing those, as well as the other ones.

    Favorites:

    Fever: Figure Fighter/Remix 8

    And yeah, I love the songs from this series. I Love You, My One and Only being my all time favorite, but I love Air Boarders as well. After playing Tengoku, WISH is definitely up there.
     
    You know, I never did play Rhythm Heaven Fever. I originally played Minna no Rhythm Tengoku, which is essentially "Everyone's Rhythm Heaven/Paradise", or Rhythm Heaven Fever's Japanese incarnation. I still have yet to play RHF in English, but I've played it twice over in Japanese (which is part of the reason that I couldn't name the names of specific songs or minigames if I tried, just what happens in them).

    I originally played Rhythm Heaven in English and then years later in Japanese. I'd say that one was a split case. In Japanese, the Fan Club song and Love Ooh Ooh Paradise are done much better, with a lot more heart put into them. Struck by the Rain is done well in both languages. The "Old Fashioned Rock and Roll" song could go either way. Though I think various soundbites are also more enjoyable in English, such as the one's for Munchy Monk, Glee Club, etc. Oh, and then there's the "half-way point" song, which is more a thing of preference than quality, since I'd say they're on pretty similar fields.
     
    I played both Fever (European version!) and obviously Tengoku in Japanese. DS is the only one I haven't, but I have listened to some of the songs in Japanese...of course, Airboarder is still at the top. I can play DS in German, French and Italian though, and the French version of Struck by Rain is ACE.

    At least you got to play Manzai Birds. Lucky you. >_>
     
    I always thought that the Fan Club song was weird.
    "hey now, here is my song, for you, yeah that's right"
    I SUPPOSE that it is weird because the singer did not put her heart into it.

    PS: Check this out. In Fan Club 2, when the TV with her on it is behind her, whenever she does a peace sign, the singer on the TV only holds up 1 finger!
     
    Yeah, but it's weird for another reason as well. See, Fan Club was meant to reference Japanese Pop Singers, and the most popular examples of these are cute young women or female teenagers that wear "cute" outfits and sing songs that are, for the most part, simple and have incredibly wide appeal because of this, be it with guys, girls, kids, teens, or adults. It's basically the pop stereotype, even though many (and probably most) Japanese pop singers aren't like this.

    The song itself, from the little Japanese that I know, is actually pretty faithful to the original, it's just how this really translates on a phonetic level that really makes it sound silly in English (well, that and the singer). In Japanese, it may sound similar and the message may be the same, even with some of the words and sentences translating perfectly, but they don't sound as silly because their Japanese equivalents don't sound that way in Japanese...if you follow me.

    Oh, and I checked it out. The singer on TV and on stage are doing the same pose, but I can see where it looks like one is doing a peace sign while the other only has one finger up. What's really happening is that the singer is pointing her index finger and thumb, rather than her index finger and her middle finger. It does kind of look like a peace sign, but its clearer what she's actually doing on the TV.
     
    Oh ok. She is doing the same things with her hands, but sometimes the inside of her mouth is a different colour, which is also weird.
     
    I only found out about the series earlier this year, and I absolutely love it! After watching videos of Rhythm Heaven Fever, I decided to get the DS Rhythm Heaven and play it blind. Even though I started out pretty terrible, I was hooked! Later, I picked up Fever and played that for the two weeks I was back at my family's home (I don't have a Wii with me). I also tried out Rhythm Tengoku when I returned, but I've yet to finish that.

    Currently, I think I'm stuck on Remix 7 in Tengoku (though it's been a while). I have the biggest problem with Bon Odori. I had to have the barista skip Bon Odori 2 for me. >_< My favorite game in this one is probably the bunny hop one and Remix 3.

    In the DS Rhythm Heaven (which I play the most), I have 48 medals and 30-something perfects. Oddly(?), I've yet to superb Fillbots 2 and Space Soccer 2. Though I admit I don't really attempt Fillbots 2 a lot, being my least favorite game. As for my favorite, hmm... maybe the Blue Birds and Rocker games? It's tough to choose.

    In Fever, I think I have 43 medals and less than 10 perfects. The last medals I need are from Monkey Watch, Flipper Flop, Tap Troupe, Love Rap 2, Figure Fighter 2, and Remixes 9 and 10. Air Rally has to be my favorite, and I'd probably include Remix 8 too, if only for the song.

    I very much agree that getting superbs is easier in Fever than in DS, but perfects are the opposite.
     
    I actually just decided to replay Bon Odori 2 and good god I don't remember it being this hard. I know what the lyrics say, but I'm sure it's meant to throw you off lol.
     
    Yeah, I think the singing throws you off somehow. Does it not follow the underlying rhythm? I don't know, whatever it is, something about Bon Odori isn't clicking with me. :/ Moai Doo-wop used to be like that for me (with Moai Doo-wop 2 being the only other game I needed the barista's help for), but I was able to find that rhythm eventually.
     
    Lol I remember this game vaguely. I got this game when my brother was in 6th. grade, now he is in high school. I remember that I had beaten the game and that my favorite mission was when you were the turnip guy. This was my third favorite rhythm game on the DS, besides Guitar Hero and Elite Beat Agents.
     
    I used to be so awful at Rhythm heaven DS, but now I am doing really well. I have all superbs except for fillbots 2 and moai doo-wop 2, and about twelve perfects.

    People on this thread have pointed out that it is more difficult to get superbs in the DS. I think that it is because fever is nicer. In some of the wii games, I was sure that I was going to get a ok, but I got a superb. Then, during fillbots 2 on DS, I missed one robot, and got an ok.
     
    I hope Fillbots 2 really isn't like that... D: Maybe it's a certain robot that knocks you down to OK? The rank you get usually depends a lot on particular parts in each game. Like in Built to Scale (DS), you absolutely have to get the last one for a Superb. But then again, the Shoot-'em-Ups seem like you can't miss a single one for Superb, so it might be like that.
