Well gimme, I can tell you that I know noting of this war one of which you speak. As I've only just returned to this board after a long absence, and the only rp's I've read to any degree is the Fallout one. So I haven't ripped off any ideas or rewritten anything from another rp, just thought I'd drop that note just encase people were wondering.

What do you guys think of a PMD roleplay, but focusing more on the ''team'' aspect than the ''dungeon'' aspect? It will have multiple factions, each very different. A list i thought up:
Pirates
Brutes
Mages
Thieves
Smart guys
Archers

I've been itching for a good PMD RP, ever since the Final Fantasy Tactics A2 one fell in long ago. If it can be utilised well, I'd love to see what you can do!

Okay, well . . . hmm, I have a Freshman thesis paper coming up soon. We have nearly two months to do it, so it shouldn't, but I do hope it doesn't interfere with my time on here too much. For now, that delays some of my roleplay ideas, though.

@Lucciola - It can most definitely be done, if you get into detail and figure out a proper system . . . but let's just say that I myself am not too excited to see one pop up. Lol.

I used to have a PMD RP called Darkness Lurking but i sorta stopped using PC for a while then. Also, do you guys know about the webcomic Olympus Overdrive? How about a RP based on that but with Pokemon instead of humans and Legendary Pokemon instead of gods?

I am positively in love with this idea OwO However, I like the idea of keeping Humans over Pokemon and bonding them to different legendaries.

And, if that's the case, I hope you don't mind if I elaborate on the concept. I'll come up with something and hopefully have it posted sometime today for you all to chew on~

Now, will your map have as many mysertious dungeons as, say, Explorers of Sky? And, also, what will be the main drive of the RP? I know you said you wanted it to be "team"-centered, but are these exploration teams, treasure hunters, or rescue squads, or are they a mixture of all three?

A mixture of all three! They do their jobs in different ways, and some are more focused on one of the three. The Stealthy Sneakers are more like treasure hunters, but the Lost Learners are focused towards explorations. Ah, I see. Now, is this a free-roam RP? Or do you have some sort of plot driving it? You may have not gotten that far, I'm just curious~

As for the Olympus Overdrive idea, I was thinking that each human is already in possession of maybe one or two Pokemon (Varying stages of evolution depending on the RPer's characters). In order for the Legendary/Human teams to progress ahead of the other pairs, they must engage in a Pokemon battle that ultimately ends with the Legendaries facing one another. The winner is then given the opportunity to capture the opposing Legendary, effectively wiping out that pair from the game.

Still debating as to whether or not the winning pair should be allowed to use the captured Legendary.

Also, each Legendary would have a fixed moveset that expands as they grow stronger by defeating opposing pairs and also have Special Abilities (Not related to actual abilities) that they can utilize for the RP:

Example:

Legendary: Darkrai
Typing:

Rank: Basic (Rank is basically the degree of power this Legendary possesses. It increases as other Legendaries are defeated, allowing for more moves to be used and to enhance their special ability).
Special Ability (Basic Level): Capable of putting humans and Pokemon into a very deep slumber. Downside is this slumber is plagued by nightmares and usually only lasts for a few minutes before the subject wakes up terrified and drenched in cold sweat.
Moveset (Basic Level): Ominous Wind, Disable, Quick Attack, Hypnosis, Faint Attack (Moveset is based on the Legendary's in-game moveset. When they rank up, the Legendary's moveset is expanded to accomadate more moves maxing at 8. TM and Move Tutor skills can be learned by various means within the RP).

I'm thinking of allowing about 8 RPers (Any more than that may be too much for me) and having them select any legendary except Arceus. Then, the remaining legendaries would be NPCs that the players can battle, defeat and obtain Legendaries from. As a way to keep anyone from being cut from the RP, everyone would have the opportunity to defeat once of these NPCs to obtain a second Legendary and form a new chain if they are ever defeated.

I like the map and how each team has a town that is within their alliance. Are there rivalries amongst the clans? And does Medius Town act as a sort of central hub for the teams?

I'm working on a PMD roleplay at the moment...

...which takes place in a war setting and focuses on a contract made by Legendary Pokemon and other Pokemon. This contract is called a 'Soul Contract.' This gives the Soul Contractor (normal Pokemon) the powers of the legendary for a year, while the Legendary takes control of their body once a week and/or makes a request every month to do something they couldn't normally do with their status. They've become increasingly more common as the Pokemon world is on the brink of a war induced by rebellions in Arceus's kingdom- who has strangely turned into a tyrant ruler of the entire world and demands insane things since he has come across a strange artifact that no one can seem to place. It is called... the Death Plate.

It's not finished right now, but... thoughts on it?

Some of you may have seen my RP: Hoenn ReBURST. Yes people, it's still alive T.T Only problem is, everyone suddenly... evaporated or something. Almost no RPer is around the OOC/IC anymore. This leading to spots opening up out of the blue.

So, what I ask for is for you to fill in those spots before the RP itself sinks in the ocean of dead RPs we all fear our precious creations could join. Yeah, I guess that's it... More cookies? :3

Either that, or restart it fresh, same story and maybe even name all but with new energy and not a bulk of dead players haunting the place. But it's up to you :3

Well, there's a bulk of dead characters, but we had the cleaning crew take care of the bodies. Only two remain, so practically everything's been opened up.
