Saving Celebi [14+]

"I don't know? Is it coming from the egg?" Cobalt said as he started to bounce around, whether consciously or otherwise. He obviously wanting to touch the egg, but preventing himself from doing so. Ah, at least he's obedient. But getting back to the phenomenon, the mutt was probably having the same thoughts he was having. Was it indeed hatching?

....No. It wasn't. The feeling wasn't right. Maybe it was trying to communicate?

Wait, what?! What was he thinking?! "The feeling wasn't right?" What was that supposed to mean? He shook his head a bit just as the Roselia decided to speak.

"It seems you actually care for the egg! Maybe you should treat others better to! Like, not calling Cobalt 'Dog.'" the spunky plant spouted from her trap.

"But... I am a dog. I don't get how that is bad. You guys are strange," Cobalt said with confusion and curiosity in his tone.

Ambrose turned to little miss important a few feet away. "I tried calling him Cobalt. I didn't care for it. 'Dog' works much better for me."

"....yelp."

Gah! The noise again! What's going on here?! Ambrose turned back to Cobalt with scorn in his face as he shoved the egg into the nose of clumsy puppy.

"I obviously wanted to you to smell it, you imbe- Dog." He stopped calling Cobalt "imbecile" because he wanted some answers. He didn't want to frighten the thing and get murky, hasty results.

Cobalt was very worried about Ambrose now. He was acting like a madman! He looked at Cobalt with hateful eyes and shoved the egg in his face.

"I obviously wanted to you to smell it, you imbe- Dog." the Spinda said angrily. Cobalt shrunk back from him. He had never been this scared of another pokemon before! What was he supposed to do?! His nose was good, but how was he supposed to get anything useful from the egg. He sniffed the egg. The pokemon inside it was moving around. That was a given. It was clearly agitated, or perhaps frightened. Cobalt couldn't get much more than that.

"Um... I can't tell if it is the one making the noise only you can hear. But it's moving around. A lot. And something is making it scared or angry, though from inside the egg, they smell the same," Cobalt said, the panic sounding clear in his voice. He just didn't know what Ambrose Flannigan wanted him to say! How was he supposed to help. Regular Poochyena eggs didn't do this!

"Scared or angry?" Ambrose said, obviously seeing that he had failed at not scaring the poor dog. Sigh....

Ambrose started to think. Was he pissing off his egg? Could it read his thoughts? Well if it was only speaking to him in his head, then that could be possible. But how could an egg do that?! There had to be something real special about the Pokemon in the egg or one talented Poochyena egg.

Ambrose was interrupted from his thoughts by a sudden crash of thunder. He looked up to the sky. The rain finally picked up speed and started to become more than just an occasional drizzle. The egg wobbled frantically, throwing itself out of Ambrose's hands. It teetered over back to him, snuggling itself against his side again taking comfort in his fur.

"The poor thing is frightened," he said with a hint of concern. He coughed loudly. That was out of character. "Ahem," he said as he regained control of himself. "The storm is looking violent. We need to get to Fortree now or we might find ourselves under a tree, dead."

He picked up his egg and held it close to its body. He didn't want this thing rolling out of its hands again and dieing, unless he wanted to hear it from the pompous plant that calls herself Amethyst, apparently she supposed to be a "gem" to life.

"Dog. Let us on your back and we'll ride to the city."

[OOC: As much as I am happy that you're enjoying the RP, I'm a bit sad that you made a whole page without waiting for the others to catch up :/ Can we please put a cap on one page a day unless everyone has posted on that page?]

Daiyu finally ate and stretched out on the grass. "I guess we're on our own now, pal," she said.

Riz heard the others argue about the strange egg and shook his head at them. He didn't care about it enough to try and jump into the argument. He realized soon that they were going the other way. Back north to Fortree. Cobalt was coming with them... without saying goodbye. Riz sighed. There goes a friend. He hoped he'd get to see them again. Probably would, as Cobalt was now the leader of the Mightyenas in this area.

"I guess they are going after Kyogre since Ambrose seems to be rather dominant in that group and wanted to do that," he said to Daiyu as he watched them go. "Which means there are only three of us left going to Registeel now. Me, you and Nova."

[OOC: bunnying sllllliiightly Nova but not much]
Nova was still standing close to Daiyu and Riz, watching the others argue and leave without much interest. She was rather wise, at least, Riz thought.

"We could have used Cobalt's strength and nose, but I think we'll be able to find the hill on our own as well. Come on, we've rested now. Let's find that old garbage can already."

And he rose and resumed the walking south, away from Cobalt, Amethyst and Ambrose. Soon, he started noticing something... the ground was rising. He was walking upwards. Could they have reached the old hill?

[OOC: Maybe it's better to split up the group, since Kiyoshi and Nideous (and probably Blayze~ too) are more active posters than me, fortworth96 and NightOfRemorse xD]

(OOC: Sorry, I kind of got carried away. Oops.)

Cobalt was startled by the thunder. He hadn't even noticed that a storm was coming in. But sure enough, it was.

"The poor thing is frightened," Ambrose Flannigan said with a hint of concern in his voice. He coughed loudly. "Ahem," he said, "The storm is looking violent. We need to get to Fortree now or we might find ourselves under a tree, dead."

"C'mon then! Let's go!" Cobalt said. He sniffed the air. It smelled a lot like rain. Just like his mother the Houndoom, he had a great dislike of the rain. Although he like playing in the mud when it was done, or going swimming in the lake after it filled up really full!

"Dog. Let us on your back and we'll ride to the city." Ambrose Flannigan said. That sounded good to him! He was really fast! He could get them there in no time at all! Without waiting to hear what Ame had to say, he picked her up and gently set her on his back. He did the same with Ambrose Flannigan, making sure that the egg stayed with him.

"Hold on tight, but please don't pull out any of my fur!" Cobalt said. He then ran as fast as he could toward Fortree City and his old den that he had made for himself. He knew it would still be there. It was in a place no humans could go. It would keep them alll out of the rain!

The egg twitched a bit in Ambrose's arms. The smoldering warmth had finally stopped, and it seemed like whatever inside was calming down. Ambrose felt a slight bit of relief, seeing as he didn't have to deal with an egg freaking out anymore. They just had to get to shelter.

Cobalt was surprisingly fast, must faster then they could've done walking separately. The rain was starting to pour down now, making a decent shower. The thunder rippled through the air once more, causing the egg to shutter.

"This egg has one vibrant personality," Ambrose thought. "It's going to need a name that's just as fitting."

Wait. No! I'm not even planning to keep this thing, why should I name it? But I do have to call it something. Hm....

The trio made their way and stopped at what seemed to be a den or something of the sort, where monsters go to seek refuge. Cobalt stopped and Ambrose got off his back with his egg in arms.

"Where are we? This isn't Fortree." Ambrose said, looking around. They were all pretty drenched by now, and the thunder never ceased to seem menacing.

Suddenly, a new sound approached the scene. It wasn't any other the trio.... nor was it the weird sound from before. What-

Footsteps. The sound was footsteps. Not just any footsteps, though. They were quick and didn't put much pressure on the ground. It sounded feminine for some reason. A- a human?

[OOC: Well, I guess that's alright. So if the next page if filled up by today we'll have to stop.]

[OOC: so, I'm starting Toodles' story.]

Toodles

The Marill was in a rage. He couldn't believe that his mother hadn't told him about the pokémon who were leaving to help Celebi. He was running around inside their home, throwing a tantrum. His siblings were watching from the corners. After a while, his mother had had enough. She sprayed a Bubble attack towards Toodles, that effectively stopped him.

"Calm down, young boy! You didn't need to be there and you wouldn't have been allowed to go with them anyways. So calm down and eat your dinner now."

Toodles wanted to retort something really... nasty... but he couldn't. Not to his mother. So he did as he was told.

...

Later that evening, when all his siblings had fallen asleep in their leafy beds, Toodles was still awake. He couldn't drop the subject. He wanted to go with them... if he managed to do good stuff on the mission he'd be recognized as a strong fighter for sure! And Riz was there, what could happen to Toodles when the strong Raichu was with him? He only needed to find him...

Toodles jumped out of bed and exited the house. "Toodles..." he whispered as he closed the door silently behind him and giggled a little. He made his way across the village to Celebi's tree, climbed it and knocked on the door. A ver drowzy Celebi opened up.

"What..."

"Hi! I'm Toodles!" Toodles said and shook her hand quickly. "I'm going after Riz and the others who are helping you. Do you know which way they went?"

Celebi stared at him. "Dear boy... aren't you... a bit too young?"

"No! I mean, I'm young but not too young! I'm strong, look!" And with that, he blew out a couple of enormous bubbles into the air. They floated in the moonlight for a while, before they hit some leaves. They didn't pop, they just bounced and soared onwards. "See? Strong!" Toodles proudly said.

"Oh, alright," Celebi said, still very tired. "I think Riz went to find Registeel... he was last seen deep inside a hill to the south of here..."

"Thanks!" the Marill said and rushed down the tree again. Celebi shook her head and went to bed again.

...

The jungle was very dark in the night. Many creatures were roaming it and would love to have a young Marill as a midnight snack. Of course, Toodles didn't at all think about that. He just bounded happily on south, feeling the right direction with his pokémon mind. After a while, he heard an eerie sound. It was some kind of dog's howl. The Marill stopped and listened. His big ears were good for listening with. He could hear... lots of dogs some ways away. Maybe he'd better avoid them.

Before he could move again, someone was standing in front of him. It was a Mightyena. It was growling at Toodles. "What are you doing here?" it said. "These are our lands."

"I'm just passing through, thank you very much, mister!" Toodles said, boosting up his chest. "I'm on a serious quest to help save Celebi!"

Something made the Mightyena close its scary mouth. "I see," it said. "Carry on then."

And it was gone. Toodles shrugged his non-existing shoulders and kept running south. He was getting a bit tired though... he'd better find some berry bushes for breakfast soon. And Riz. He'd better find him too.

"I guess they are going after Kyogre since Ambrose seems to be rather dominant in that group and wanted to do that," Riz said to Daiyu as he watched them go. "Which means there are only three of us left going to Registeel now. Me, you and Nova." Daiyu looked back at the others. "Hmph!" she said and followed Riz through the dark jungle.

When they made it farther south, something was different about the ground. It was rising upwards, possibly being the start of a hill. Daiyu looked at Nova and then started to ascend the newly discovered slope.

"I think we're definitely near Registeel. I feel as if I'm being drawn in by my cheeks," Daiyu said as she scurried up the hill. Thunder boomed and the rain began to pick up. Getting wet wasn't important at the moment, however. The circumstance they should be worried about is whether Registeel would agree with their request, or if they'd have to fight him. Daiyu was sort of hoping the steel monster would protest. She wanted to beat someone's ass right now.

"So much… for furball's… firefang!" Daiyu complained in between breaths. This hill was steep! It wasn't helping that she was trying to run up the hill, so she slowed down to a steady pace.

"Where are we? This isn't Fortree." Ambrose Flannigan said, looking around. Cobalt shivered a little. He wasn't a happy puppy. He hated being caught out in the rain.

"Look. I really don't feel like running all the way through this rain to reach Fortree. I'd get sick, you'd get sick, we'd all get sick! And that egg needs to be someplace that's warm and dry! So stop complaining for a minute and get in the shelter!" Cobalt snapped. He regretted it instantly. He turned to look at the two pokemon on his back.

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to snap at you like that! But... This rain really will make us sick. And the egg really does need to be kept warm and dry. Neither of those can happen if I'm running in the rain! And look over there. Those lights are Fortree. We aren't that far away. I could run there in a very small amount of time when the rain stops. But right now, I'm staying in the den!" Cobalt said, sounding apollogetic and stubborn at the same time. He was not going to negociate on this one. He walked them all in the shelter. It was cramped, but he managed it. He lay down next to the opening, and a strange scent caught in his nose. It smelled like a human. He hoped she wouldn't come this way!

Riz

"I think we're definitely near Registeel. I feel as if I'm being drawn in by my cheeks," Daiyu said as she scurried up the hill. Riz felt it too, now that he thought about it. There was something inside this hill alright.

He wondered where there could be an opening. A cavern of some sort. They were getting higher up now and trees no longer grew on the sides of the hill.

"So much… for furball's… firefang!" Daiyu complained in between breaths as she struggled. Apparently it was too much of an effort to run up the hill.

"I hear you," Riz said rather bitterly. "Should we go around the hill or something? I don't seen an opening and I don't know if..."

He suddenly stopped. They had reached the summit. The hill wasn't bigger than this. From the top, covered in grass and a few cliffs, they could see over the treetops, but not very far. He thought he spotted Fortree City somewhere to the north, but he wasn't sure. The dark clouds were hanging above them and rain was pounding down on the trio.

He sniffed around them, to find anything despite all the wetness. And there it was.

"Daiyu, come over here!" he said and pointed. Behind a cliff was indeed an opening. Steep, down into the hill's inside. "Well," Riz said, "we know what awaits us. At least eventually. We don't know how far and deep we'll have to go in order to find him though. Wanna find out?" he said, looking straight at the Pikachu girl.

He hoped Nova wanted to enter the cavern as well. Without her, they'd lose some Dark type attacks that would probably come in handy down there. And she didn't want to stay out here in the rain, did she?

"And don't worry about the darkness," Riz added and lighted up his tail all of a sudden. It shone brightly enough to easily lit up a cave. "I know the move Flash."

"Geez! We have to find out a way to Fortree soon!" a voice said. It was in fact female, and sounded somewhat young. Maybe sixteen, at least.

As the girl revealed herself from the brush, Ambrose found himself right out in the open with his egg in hand, completely frozen watching the human approach. Cobalt and Amethyst were hiding in the den, perfectly safe and sound.

The human teenager wore quite inappropriate attire for the weather, wearing a transparent black-and-white horizontally striped shawl over light purple short sleeved t-shirt with some kind of company logo over it. She also had on slightly tattered jeans and rose-red running shoes. The only thing keeping her from being soaked was the large black umbrella she carried over her. She was carrying a small Vulpix in her arms, obviously not fond of the rain and cold.

The human finally spotted Ambrose. "Woah!" he stopped, completely forgetting about the rain. "What is that?" she said, instinctively pulling out a red device that Ambrose has seen numerous times before. A Pokedex, is what he thought it was called. The Vulpix picked its head up and looked right at Ambrose. Ambrose backed up little bit from the two. He didn't want another battle.

"Spinda, the Spot Panda Pokemon. It is distinguished by a pattern of spots that is always different. Its unsteady, tottering walk has the effect of fouling its foe's aim." replied the device. The girl kept looking back and forth from the Pokedex and at Ambrose. She's probably taking notice the picture doesn't look like me.

"Dude! This pokemon here doesn't even look like the picture!" the human said as she looked back towards Ambrose. "You're really special, aren't you?"

And thus I show the world my clairvoyance. Ambrose peered cynically at the girl. What was she planning? To catch him?

The girl, free of any signs of hesitation, immediately approached the small bear pocket monster and knelled right before him. Ambrose's eyes grew in intensity, no human he'd ever met before did this when he met them. Ambrose looked up, noticing that the large umbrella she was carrying was now shielding them both from the rain.

"Well hello there, little guy!" She said, closing her eyes in joy. "My name's Delilah."

Delilah's Vulpix bore the same expression added a "Nice to meet you!" Before wagging all of its tails in excitement and smiling. Ambrose looked strangely at the both of them. And where was Cobalt and Amethyst? Shouldn't they be helping me by now? Oh, so the pup is afraid of a human but not an entire pack of rabid mutts? Wuss. Guess I'm on my own here.

Suddenly, the human used her hand to pat Ambrose's head, scratching him behind the ears. "You poor thing, getting caught in the rain. You must be so scared."

What was with everyone today doubting his capabilities?! In a small fit of anger, Ambrose swatted the hand from his head.

"Back it up there, sweetie. I'm not scared." He said with distain. The human was taken aback to why he did this. That's right, humans only hear us say our species name. All she got fro that was "Spinda, Spinda Spin." Crap. But the Vulpix looked at him curiously. Why the sudden anger?

Delilah looked over to what Ambrose was holding. An egg! "Oh, I see what's going on here. You don't want anyone coming near your little egg there. I get it." She got back up. Ambrose nearly forgotten he was holding an egg. The girl was eyeing it as she stood. Crap. She wants it.

"You're feisty. I like you," she said with growing interest in the pair. The Vulpix giggled a little.

"You can shut your trap, Fluffy." Ambrose said to the fox.

"Hey! How did you know my name?" The Vulpix said back with breathless excitement.

Oh you've got to be kidding me. That's its actual name?

"Heh. Looks I'm going to have to take both of you back to the PokemonCenter for rest. Ironically though, I still have to weaken you first." The girl was obviously referring to Ambrose and the egg, sparkles in her eyes as the thoughts of them together ran through her tiny head.

Heh?

"Alright Fluffy, take battle position!" Delilah said as she jumped back and dropped the hold of her fox, letting it land to its feet impressively. The Vulpix tensed its muscles and growled playfully. Mother f-

Ambrose knew that this was enviable anyway on his trip to Kyogre, so might as well get some battle practice in. He gently placed the egg on the ground. It squirmed a bit in the mud.

"I'm saying this once, whatever you are." He said, raising a finger at it. "Stay put. I don't you getting hurt because you had to be stupid and get in the way of this battle." The egg shivered quite less intensively, noting the fierceness in Ambrose's egg. Looking it understood what he wanted by the tone of his voice, Ambrose turned back to "Delilah."

She was clasping her hands together near her face and blushing. "That was so cute! You're such a good daddy!" she said as she could barely contain herself.

A look of anger painted Ambrose's face. Time to take care of this moronic obstacle. He immediately got ready to battle.

"Alright Fluff, use-" The human started.

Ambrose quickly stared into the Vulpix's eyes and sent signals from them. The Vulpix stumbled a bit before lying on the ground asleep, falling victim to his Hypnosis.

"No! Fluffy! Get up!"

Ambrose ran up to the fox with good speed and smacked its jaw with a Dizzy Punch. It flew backwards and landed in the mud, being coated with the dirty substance.

"Dude! Take it easy! That's my pokemon you're battling with!"

Like I care. Ambrose casually walked over the Vulpix as it twitch in the mud and lightly cry in pain. He grabbed the thing by its throat and it clenched its eyes, still asleep after all that, thinking that it was having a nightmare. Ambrose swung his head to the side and head butted the Vulpix's face with a Double-Edge. The Vulpix screamed in pain, reaching quite a pitch. As water streamed down its face. Ambrose then tightened his grip on the poor thing's face and positioned his body like he was about to thrown a playing dart. He threw it to the ground near them head first. It didn't make a noise this time, obviously knocking out as it made contact.

"Fluffy!" the human cried out in desperation. The fox didn't reply, and its entire face was buried under the mud. Should I suffocate her? Hm.... Ambrose started to walk towards Fluffy, planning to make her have a real dirt nap. Let's see Delilah mess with his progress then.

"….ep!" the faint noise that taunted Ambrose previously had returned. Ambrose stopped dead in his tracks. He looked over at the egg, which was standing perfectly still. Quit it! Why should I listen to yo-

Before Ambrose could finish that thought, the girl returned her pokemon with a bright red beam that sucked it up into a ball. She put the ball on her belt and stared angrily at Ambrose, hands on hips. "So, you wan to play that way, hm?" she interrogated.

"Try me, prick." He said. He was really started to dislike this human distraction. He was wasting time and he might catch a cold.

"Fine. We'll play your way." She said as she grabbed a different ball from her belt and threw it to the ground. "Go, Aquata!"

Where was she coming up with these names? The red light shimmered as a large Crawdaunt emerged from the beam. The ball flew itself back perfectly to Delilah.

The Crawdaunt roared with furiousness into the sky, shoving its arms to the ground. Oh, I'm so intimidated. Ambrose yawned. Did he really have to finish off an entire team of weaklings?

"Aquata, use ViceGrip!" the human said. Ambrose opened his eyes. Really? That's all you can think of-

Ambrose was scooped up in Crawdaunt's arm was being crushed painfully. Oh, screw me! The grip but more pressure on him until Ambrose let out a yelp of pain.

"….ep! ep!"

Little busy right now.

"Alright, finish him off with a Bubblebeam, Aquata!" A steady stream of tough bubbles all smacked Ambrose in the face with the intensity of a hard punch. Ambrose couldn't help but whimper after each one hit him. After the attack was over, Ambrose recovered and looked angrily at the Crawdaunt. The giant crab was unimpressed, to say the least. Ambrose smacked its arms with his head, doing a Double-Edge again. The claw let go of him And Ambrose jumped back. He was bleeding a bit on his belly, obviously having the tiny spikes of the claw jabbing into him.

Ambrose went down on one knee, finally feeling the affects of the Double-Edges creating a massive headache. Ambrose growled and ran towards the Crawdaunt.

"Aquata, quick, use Swords dance!"

The Crawdaunt raised and made an "X" with his arms, infusing power into them. Ambrose kept running, preparing a Dizzy Punch with his fist. Just need to time it right.

"….ep!"

Crap! Ambrose tripped and was tumbling head first towards the Crawdaunt.

"Aquata, use Crabhammer!"

The Crawdaunt released itself from the "X" and looked at Ambrose tumbling towards him. He charged his fist and….

Ambrose went flying backward, a good five feet in the air and landed the mud hard, even sliding a bit disregarding the composure of the mud. His eyes went fuzzy as Delilah came near him, Crawdaunt at her side.

"Good battle, deary. Now time for you to get some rest."

The vile young woman threw an Ultra ball at his face, it smacking him and beaming him up in a red blaze.

Everything was dark and silent. Ambrose had been in several of these before, all he had to do was find the special spot where he could re-open it. But unlike the other times, he was exhausted. He squirmed the dark, wobbling the ball as he moved. Gotta find it, gotta find it…

A blue ray of light suddenly and rapidly flashed before his eyes, and a loud "ping!" noise followed. Ambrose had found the spot where he could get out and touched it. It did nothing. He tried moving. He couldn't.

The entire area around him faded to show what was going on around the ball. Everything outside was huge now, and the girl stood like a giant. Ambrose looked at himself. He was standing perfectly still, unable to move anything but his head. The girl's hand grabbed the ball's back and looked straight at him. He face was large and filled with pride and happiness.

"You're gonna be a great addition to my team." The girl said, before turning her head to the side. "Isn't that right, Aquata?"

"Craw!" The pokemon happily replied. Ambrose shook off the shame of being defeated by that thing as he watched what the girl would do next. She dared to walk over to egg and pick it up in her hand. "I guess this one's mine, too! Huh! That finishes me off with a perfect team of six! My lucky day, right?"

Freaking wench! How dare she touch the egg! The egg shook rapidly back and forth. Ambrose felt it in his heart that it was scared to death.

"….ep…." the voice said, as if it was crying.

"The poor think is cold to its very bone!" Delilah said as she clipped Ambrose to her belt and took off her backpack, reaching in and pulling out a towel. She wrapped the egg carefully in it. "There! That should do it." She said, smiling.

Thunder crashed violently. "Geez! Time to run, dude!" She said to her Crawdaunt. The girl started running away from the den, clutching the egg to her chest.

Ambrose looked back. Cobalt and Amethyst were looking dumbstruck in their wake. Finally! All they have to do now is chase and get me! Phew. And I actually thought I was going to have to stay with this-

"Cover my back, Aquata! I don't want to delay our trip to the PokemonCenter any farther!"

….Freaking girl.

(OOC: If you try to tail after her, the Crawdaunt will stop you and she will continue to run off, so they're no saving Ambrose at this point. I'm doing a bit of independent story development as of now, so Cobalt and Amethyst can go on a little tag-team adventure in Fortree or something if they like. :3)

(OOC: You predicted Cobalt's reaction perfectly.)

Cobalt looked at Ambrose Flannigan. He was just standing out in the rain. Hadn't he heard a word Cobalt had said? Then a human girl with a vulpix ran up. Cobalt shrank from the cave entrance. He hid himself in the back as far away as he could. He watched Ambrose begin to battle, and lay down and put his paws over his head and began shaking.

Soon, he was caught in his own memory, unaware of anything else. It wasn't Ambrose Flannigan out there battling anymore. It was him, a small blue eyed Poochyena. And he was battling a smug looking boy with a mudkip. He cried out and was attacked again and again, but he couldn't faint. He was so scared. At last, the boy threw the pokeball, and he was caught in the darkness. He ran and ran and ran, crashing into walls until he found the bright red spot. He urgently rammed into it, and found himself on the ground.
"Oh well, I'll just beat you up some more!" the boy had said. Cobalt ran as far away as he could, with the boy screaming curses at him.

Cobalt snapped out of it. He looked around. Ambrose Flannigan, the egg, and the human girl were all gone. He put his head down, and kept shaking. Even now, he was still scared. But his friend was gone! He felt terrible, but he didn't want to go after them. Humans were just too strong! What could he possibly be able to do? He was just a pup!

(OOC: Warning: LOOOOOONNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG)

Ambrose, feeling ill, passed out while in the Pokéball. He was quite hurt by the oversized seafood entrée, and he needed to sleep. Besides, rest was how pocket monsters naturally regained health. Well, at least monsters like Ambrose.

Ambrose lightly re-opened his eyes. ….This is wrong.

He stood up, realizing he was no longer in the Pokéball. Instead, he was in the middle of a clearing. It seemed oddly familiar, but not quite. It was the wrong season, too. The air had a dastardly chill to it, obviously hinting that winter was coming. Ambrose held himself and shivered a little bit. Ambrose turned himself completely around. Right there in front of him, was the Mightyena camp he'd been at hours before. Bloody blimey, this place again?

Ambrose placed his hands on his hips and was extremely annoyed. What, the girl thought she could just release him here and take off with the egg? Dang it. Well at least I don't have to worry about it-

Canine footsteps started to become present behind him. Just what I needed. Something obviously wants my day to go completely wrong.

Ambrose turned around to see that his assumption was correct, it was a Mightyena. It was feminine in shape and looked like a middle-aged adult, so it couldn't have been Cobalt. There was something odd on her back. It looked like…. a bulge? Sort of like a Numel hump. It teetered back and forth as the dog walked.

Ambrose looked back at the camp. Probably going back home…. But from what, exactly? Ambrose remembered that it was usually males that went out and hunted and the females took care of the camp and kids, as Cobalt said. But, she does look fairly strong built. Maybe she's an exception?

Ambrose didn't really care for the slightly sexist order of the Mightyena, but maybe they weren't so stubborn with their code. They were filthy mutts, but, there had to be some decently intelligent ones that would see that some males are better suited for chores and raising kids and some females were better off hunting. Ambrose stood and stared at the Mightyena. She was shifting her eyes and head constantly, never missing a beat. Was she nervous about something?

"Hey," Ambrose said. "Have you seen a human with an egg around here?"

His voice echoed with odd intensity through the landscape. Even so, the Mightyena didn't reply, or even act like he was there. Seriously? Throw me a bone here, will you?

"Hey!" He said again. Again, no response from the woman.

Bloody moron. Best not to waste my time. Ambrose started to walk away, but found himself walking into an invisible wall. What the-?

He turned to the female Mightyena again. She was much closer now, and the lump on her back revealed itself to be an egg. It had red splotches on it that used a gradient to fade naturally into the black color. Wait a minute. That's my egg!

"What do you think you're doing, stealing my egg? Give it back!" Ambrose said angrily. He didn't know why exactly, but not having the egg made him slightly furious. And as tested and proven before, the woman didn't even acknowledge he was there. "What is your problem, lady?!"

There was the sound of something slashing through the air and a loud thud to Ambrose's left. There was a muscle-bound male Mightyena in front of the woman now, causing her to stop with a little accompanying gasp.

"Hey! You, male dog! Get my egg for me, will you?" Ambrose asked the mutt. No response or notice. What's going on here?! Ambrose crossed his arms in annoyance and smugly looked the two.

"You there. You're invading on Mightyena territory. State your business." The male one said.

Oh, she gets the chance to state her business, but I get mouth-lifted to the camp center. Stupid dogs.

"I- I was just passing through." The woman whimpered. "I need to get my egg to safety. I don't want trouble."

"Well you got trouble, lady. Men! Surround her!"

Suddenly, an entire group of Mightyena pushed through the air and ran to form a circle around the female Mightyena. One of them pushed down Ambrose, causing him the lay on the ground.

"Bloody mutts!" Ambrose said, cursing them all. He watched as the woman panicked as she was surrounded while he picked himself up.

"Please, just let me go. I mean you no harm." The woman cried.

"Well, that's good. But we were getting pretty hungry. So, it's better we eat you now and satisfy our need and your punishment."

Crap. This woman had his egg! If she goes, it goes. "Try me, you moronic lot of you!" Ambrose said, marching towards them. It took him a second to realize he hadn't moved an inch. What's with these walls, anyway?!

"No, no, I just need-" The woman was able to say people the group pounced on her. Her screams shook the very air they traveled in, being accompanied by the snarls of the Mightyena tearing her apart and the squishing her flesh in their teeth.

"Dear Arceus." Ambrose said, being cursed to watch what was happening. The woman's screams eventually ended with just a gradually fading gargling sound, the poor hyena being silenced by the rapid flow of her blood to her throat. The group started to disband from the murder, saying things like "That was sure weird. Did she look like that before we attacked her?" "The meat was different. I liked it!" and various satisfied laughs.

"Hey guys, let's keep this egg and wait until it hatches to eat it." The original male Mightyena said, putting the egg on his back. "Or maybe, I'l give it to my son. I'm sure my boy would appreciate this baby as his first kill when his teeth finally grow in."

"You filthy bastard!" Ambrose said to the mutt, "Give me my egg! I'm its parent! Hey! Get back here, coward! I'll cut your throat! Hey! Hey!"

The Mightyena finally went over the slope and disappeared back into their camp. Furious, Ambrose cussed under his breath and turned back to look at the woman who previously stole his egg. A blood covered corpse littered the floor, but it wasn't like a disfigured Mightyena. It had long, puffy red hair hiding most of its body from afar. Its figure was that similar to a human, but completely black.

Then it got up. Confused, Ambrose continued to stare at it. It didn't move at all besides the slight twitches of it trying to balance itself, obviously having difficulty to stand after being ripped to shreds. It was dead silent, not even the sound of the wind that was obviously blowing made a sound.

"….Hello?" Ambrose said.

What Ambrose saw next was the unrecognizable bloody face of the woman, her mouth gaping and shouting a rough, cackling scream that echoed all around Ambrose and scared him to his very core.

A couple of red flashes completely took over his eyesight, along with an annoying tune.

"Your Pokemon are at full health, Delilah!" a woman's voice said.

Ambrose opened his eyes. It was a dream? That was extremely vivid for just a dream.

He felt movement and was apparently in a tray of some sort. The said tray was given to Delilah and she re-equipped all of her Pokéballs to her belt.

"Thanks, Nurse Joy. I appreciate it." Delilah said.

"I see you got an egg there, too!" this Nurse Joy pointed out.

"Yeah, the odd 'Spinda' I just caught in the woods on my way here was carrying it! Talk about lucky."

"What's so odd about it?"

"Here, I'll show you!" Delilah unequipped Ambrose's ball from her belt and shouted "Come out, Spinda!"

Ambrose was launched like a rocket in a beam of red light. It blinded him until he found himself standing on the counter of the Pokemon Center, the red light disappearing.

"Wow! Just look at it! It has actual eyes! What a rare find!" Nurse Joy said, looking at Ambrose with happiness for Delilah. "Hey there, little guy."

"Wha- I," Ambrose started.

"Heh, he looks confused to what just happened to him. I bet he's never even been to a Pokemon Center before." Delilah bent down to be at eye level with Ambrose. "We put you in that special machine over there to heal you to full heath, Spinda."

Ambrose shoved his shoulder in front of Delilah, showing resentment. "I know what you freaking did, wench. I'm not stupid, unlike you, you dimwitted waste of oxygen!"

"Don't worry, it's supposed to be helpful," The girl replied.

What? That didn't make any sense. Why did she- oh right. She only hears "Spinda." I can't get a break today. She probably thought I said "I don't trust it" or something. This is annoyingly hilarious. Ambrose rolled his eyes at the girl. The girl smiled as she interpreted it as spunkiness. She stood right up again, and looked at Nurse Joy.

"So yeah, I don't know what the egg will hatch into, but it sure is warm! I can literally feel the pokemon moving in it!

Egg….? Egg! My egg! She has my egg! Ambrose quickly shot his face in the direction of the girl. He hadn't noticed that she still was holding it, it wrapped up in a towel.

"Hey!" Ambrose said, raising his fist to the girl.

Delilah looked surprised at Ambrose. "What is it, boy?"

Ambrose wasn't going to play any games anymore. He jumped up and smacked the egg out from under the girl's arms. It flew slightly into the air, and Ambrose managed to catch it.

"….ey~"

Sigh, you're welcome. Bringing himself out of that slight trace, and looked angrily at Delilah and shoved his arms containing the egg away from the girl. Delilah was dumbfounded, and looked down at her arms which only contained the towel now. She looked at Nurse Joy, who giggled after coming out of the same expression.

"He seems very protective of that egg. It's probably his." She said.

"….I didn't see that coming. Usually all my Pokemon come out of battle mode once I catch them."

Well think again, you wh-

"It probably just isn't used to being captured quite yet. But I'm sure that's nothing a little disciplinary training can't fix." The nurse said.

Ugh….

"Well, I guess I should be happy! I've got two unique black-and-white Spindas. Maybe I'll trade the other one for something really nice."

Wait, she's willing to trade off a newborn and take it away from its father? What kind of human does this?!

"I heard that Spindas with heart on them are sometimes traded for Bagons nowadays. Maybe you should look up that, you never know if it's going to be that special!"

Apparently all of them.

"Sounds like a plan! But it's probably best for it to hatch and be around its dad for at least a week. Hm, maybe I'll give the cutie to my Mom as a present instead. She always wanted a unique pet."

Ambrose jumped off the counter. He didn't want to hear any more of this awful drabble. He headed for the door of the establishment. It was about time to re-find his sidekicks. Delilah ran and confronted him playfully.

"And where do you think you're going, my dear? You haven't even met my entire team!"

"Piss off!" Ambrose said, trying to get past the girl. Delilah picked him up from the back and lifted Ambrose into air. What am I, a teddy bear?!

"Now, now, darling. Training can wait until later. For now, let's wait out the storm."

Ambrose growled, and she responded with a giggle, thinking it was just feistiness. Delilah walked down stairs and they ended up in a large corridor, filled with doors. Delilah walked a bit and turned to her right, opening the door.

Once they got inside, Ambrose was seated on the bed and Delilah went back to close the door. The room was fairly roomy and cozy, and the bed was paradise compared to his leaves back home. How he wanted to lie down and roll around in it. But now was not the time for pointless ecstasy. Nor did he want to give off the vibe that he was started to warm up to his situation, which he certainly was not.

"Okay, time to meet your new friends!" Delilah said, taking off four Pokéballs from her belt. "Come out guys!"

The trainer threw them up in the air, and the all released simultaneously. The technology was amazing and admirable, but notheless morally questionable to keep Pokemon prisoner. When the red lights vanished, they revealed the playful Vulpix and Strong Crawduant from earlier, but also a timid Snorunt and Graceful Chimecho.

"So! Role call! Fluffy the Vulpix!"

"Hi!" It said, directly addressing Ambrose with a smile that made him shutter.

"Sweetheart the Chimecho!"

"Here, my master." it said mystically, twirling in the air as it did so.

"Scaredo the Snorunt!"

"Ah! Don't call me so suddenly like that!" it said, shaking like a leaf in a hurricane.

"And last but certainly not least, your conqueror, Aquata the Crawdaunt!"

"Sorry about earlier. Just following orders. Heh." It said with a smile to Ambrose, obviously asking for his forgiveness.

Ambrose took a second to look at them as a whole. All bloody moronic peons.

"Okay! Now we need to give these two a name!" Delilah said with disturbing enthusiasm.

"My name is Ambrose Flannigan, you bi-!"

"How about Teddy?" The Vulpix suggested.

"No, no, I think Gill is much better fitting," Aquata said.

"Hey! Idiots! My name is Ambrose Flannigan!" Ambrose said with anger. He was done being ignored by these pathetic excuses for existence. Silence befell them all.

"Nah, Amcoze Flanni-whatever doesn't have that certain special ring to it," The Chimecho said, shaking itself and making a bell-like sound.

"First off, yes it does, and second off, like I care! It's my name."

"Yipe! Stop screaming! It's frightening me!" said the cowardly Snorunt.

"Gain a backbone, you shrimp!"

"I've got it!" Delilah said suddenly, not having not paid attention to the conversation the creatures around her were having. "How about Alberstein? You like it, boy?"

A- Alberstein?

"No! My name is Ambrose Flannigan! A, M, B…."

"That does it! Your name is Alberstein!" Delilah said in joy.

What in the bloody world is going on?!

"And our egg friend over there will be named, um…. Eggles!" He said, giggling somewhat.

"Over my dead body it will!"

"….ep."

Dad is a little busy making sure you don't end up with a moronic name, sweetheart. Hush.

"Oh, I see. Your its dad so you want to name it. Well, um, sorry to tell you, but I'm both you guys' trainer now. So.... tough luck. Sorry!"

"You freaking-!"

"Okay guys! I'm going to go hang out with the other trainers upstairs. Have fun socializing and getting acquainted!" Delilah said, closing the door behind her; leaving Ambrose all alone with the group of monsters. There was a bit of awkward silence for a moment.

"So what's inside the egg?" Fluffy the Vulpix asked.

Ambrose sighed, defeated. "I don't know. However, I did get my scent on it so now it's going to hatch thinking I'm its fath- Scent!" Ambrose said, picking up his egg in panic. "Don't say that she got her filthy scent on it!"

Ambrose looked around frantically for a way to tell if she did. He wasn't good with smelling scents- The fox! Close enough to a dog.

"You, fox," He said as he jumped off the bed and approached the Vulpix. "Can you smell very good?"

"Why yes I can!" She happily replied. "In fact, this one time-"

Ambrose threw the egg to her nose. "Smell it and tell me if your trainer's scent go on it."

"Um…. Okay." The Vulpix said, confused to why that would be a bad thing. She smelled it quite thoroughly. "Unfortunately, no, her scent didn't rub off on it. There is absolutely no Delilah on this little guy."

"Probably because of the towel she wrapped it in before." Aquata added in.

Oh thank Arceus. At least one thing worked out for him today. It's a good thing my daughter won't hatch thinking that Delilah….

How did I know it was a female? Weird. Notheless-

"Also, it smells like it's going to hatch tomorrow! Congratulations! Delilah will be so pleased!" The Vulpix said.

"Yeah, yeah, by the way, can you- can you tell me what's inside the egg?" Ambrose asked. Why not? Maybe she knew more about eggs than Cobalt.

"Okay!" She said, resuming her smelling. "Hm…. definitely dark type. It also smells a lot like a fox, like me! From what I can tell, it has…." sniff "red fur on it. That's all it notes."

R- Red fur? His mind shot back to his dream earlier with the red-furred corpse. Did the egg's history play before his eyes? Was that- was that the little one's actual parent?

"And it's almost screaming that it wants to meet you and hug its daddy! You must take good care of it."

"Y- yeah." Ambrose said, withdrawing his egg.

"Dark-type fox, hm? That sounds like it's going to be a wonderful addition to Delilah's team," said the Chimecho, blissfully twirling around itself in the air above them.

"Wouldn't say that too soon, I might end up having to kill Delilah by day's end." replied Ambrose. His egg warmed up and positioned itself back into Ambrose's fur.

"….ep."

I was beginning to get tired. I was never a good runner, but I couldn't stop. But I felt that if I kept going, my legs would fall off. They were killing me. Finally I decided to stop in a corner and to rest up for a little while. As I wished the humans thought I was a kid over and over again, I gasped while my legs hurt more and more with every passing second. Dammit, I should've stayed at my pond today...

I looked around me, and it was unbelievably crowded with humans, and the buildings wouldn't let me see the horizon. I shook my head when something flew towards me and hit my face. It was a bunch of papers, with some text and pictures. Perfect. I grabbed the paper with both my hands and covered my face with it, and pretended I was reading it. Why didn't I think of this before?

Every once in a while I removed the paper from my face to see where I was going. Humans still weren't watching where they were going, but I was happy they probably didn't know I was one of them, and they were too busy to find out. With a smile on my face and some relief in my heart I kept on walking towards the north of the city. Regirock was awaiting me, and I just couldn't wait to leave that city, never to return again. But then another question appeared inside my head. How do I get back to Celebi without having to go through this city again?

(OOC: Oh my,, another long post. Please don't mind, I just have a lot of thing that have to happen to Ambrose while he's caught by Delilah.)

The group of Pokemon all gasped at what Ambrose had said. They stood still for a moment, not moving a muscle, like a bunch of statues. When they finally released their tension, they all were laughing.

"What's so funny?" Ambrose had to ask.

"You are!" said the Snorunt. "Kill Delilah! That's rich! Hehe!"

Blundering imbeciles. Time to leave. Ambrose made his egg comfy and walked to the door, ready to operate the knob. He made a reach for it.

….he couldn't grab it.

"Hey, Crab." He said the Crawdaunt, who got his attention but was confused to if he was actually referring to him. "Open the door here."

"Why?" The crab asked back.

"Because I want to get some air into the room it's just so stuffy- I want to get out of here, nitwit, why do you think why?" Ambrose's temper had a burnt out fuse by now. He'd been dealing with misfortunes and morons all day. He didn't need this over-glorified crustacean holding up his progress.

"We can't do that. We have to wait for Delilah."

"Screw the human; I'm on a life-saving quest here that will grant me my greatest wish!"

"….ep!"

Quiet, Daddy is talking with an adult. A stupid adult, but still an adult.

"No. Delilah's word is final." The crab said sternly. He stared down the Spinda, obviously being battle-ready. These guys are brainwashed into thinking their trainer is a deity! They've lost it!

"Oh, don't stare at me like that! What, are you going to punch me if I defy your dear goddess Delilah?" Ambrose taunted.

"Yeah. I might. Delilah might as well be a goddess." The crab said back.

Ambrose was taken aback. Was he serious? Ambrose looked at the others. They all stood still, staring down Ambrose with blank expressions in their eyes. Were they baffled of the concept of "defying Delilah?"

"Look, teddy. You're her Pokemon now. So her word is law. You're not going anywhere."
"Oh bite me, 'Aquata,'" Ambrose said, searching the room for something that might help him open the door.

"Hold your tongue, Alberstein. Or you might get it cut out."

"For the last time, moron. My name is Ambrose Flannigan. And there is zero chance this fox-to-be in my hands to going to be named 'Eggles.'" Ambrose realized this was the exact same tone that screwed him over numerous times today. Maybe he should work on not always trying to piss people off. The Crawdaunt snatched his neck and raised him from the ground, Ambrose dropping the egg in the process. He was being choked and struggled for air.

"….ep! ep! ep! ep!"

Dang, has this guy got a claw. Can I not insult anyone without getting my ass kicked one way or another?! ….Alright, now that was a stupid question.

"Look, fuzzy. You're not going to hurt or so much as speak against Delilah again unless you want to 'run away mysteriously' with your intestines rotting behind a garbage can outside. You will do everything she desires for you to do. Have I made myself clear?" The Crawdaunt raised his face in curiousness if the small bear would actually comply. Ambrose was near ready to pass out, running out of oxygen and turning purple. Suddenly, the door cracked open loudly. Before Ambrose could answer, Aquata dropped him to the ground, he hitting the wooden floor behind his egg.

Delilah was backing into the door and turned around to show she brought some snacks for herself and the pokemon. "Hey guys!" she said kindly. "Look who's a considerate trainer?"

The original four all rejoiced as Ambrose had the blood re-oxygenated in his system and sat up. Delilah set the tray down on a dresser and started to pass out pokemon treats, and then a sandwich for herself. Aquata finished his treat rather quickly, and then wobbled over to Ambrose's egg. He picked it up in-between both his massive claws and raised it to Delilah, obviously asking if she wanted to hold it.

"Hey! Take off, you wretched lobster!" Ambrose said to Aquata. The Crawdaunt shot him the same glare he did before, threatening him that he'd finish him off if he didn't conform to Delilah's will.

Hearing the cry from her Spinda, Delilah raised her hand in denial. "Nah, nah. I think Alberstein is a bit overprotective of his little one. Better leave it with him." The Crawdaunt found himself wordless and blinking at Delilah, not expecting that response. He resentfully passed it back to Ambrose.

"Hah. Piss off, Aquata." He said.

"You're welcome, little buddy!" Delilah said, thinking Ambrose said "thank you."

Delilah clasped her hands together. "Okay guys, I'm going to take you all upstairs for a battle I was just challenged to be a rookie. Follow me to the mini-stadium!"

The Pokemon (besides Ambrose, of course) all did a little cheer and walked with Delilah. Ambrose was the second to last to leave, trotting in front of Scaredo the Snorunt.

"Pst." A voice said subtly, if there at all. "Hey. Behind you."

Out of morbid curiosity, Ambrose looked behind him. It was in fact Scaredo, wearing a rather secretive face, like he was toying with clandestine information.

"What?" Ambrose replied with the same volume, lest Aquata hear it.

"Don't lose hope. Wait until Aquata is gone, and make your move with me. Don't lose hope, whatever you do. Hope is the last thing keeping me to my sanity."

"You're not in with all this moronic behavior?"

"No. I was thieved by my habitat by that wicked girl, and I started out just like you, constantly telling people off and wanting out." He peered in front of them to see if Aquata was paying attention. He was having a conversation with Delilah, so they were fine. "Then Aquata, or by his real name, Pozzi, shook me down to 'behave.' There was only me and him at the time, so there was no backup."

"And you couldn't take him down because he was stronger than you?"

"The stupid human always battles with him. Her idea of raising a balanced team is to occasionally use the others she has. So I wouldn't die, I had to develop this cute timid act. I had to lay in wait, until someone like you came by."

"What about these two?" Ambrose asked. "Didn't you look for help in them, too?"

"Of course I did. Miss floating elegance over there, Sweetheart, was the next pokemon to arrive. But Aquata was able to easily coerce, her being so faint of heart. She traded being an individual for safety before I even could talk to her. Her actual named is Monlon."

"And the Vulpix?"

"Delilah hatched that one. Notice the complete blank expression in her face all the time?"

Ambrose tilted his to get a better view. Now that he looked into them, her eyes looked like the being was almost completely ripped of a soul, completely lacking in any spark. Ambrose returned back to the Snorunt next to him.

"Yeah, scary, isn't it? When she hatched, I thought I had the perfect opportunity for an ally. All I had to do was be the one who talked to her the most. But Delilah constantly took care of it, I didn't have a window. And with Aquata pretty much adding in as a battle partner and surrogate big brother, the poor thing was easily brainwashed."

Shivers went down Ambrose's spine. He hadn't been this genuinely frightened by anything in his life. Here he was, talking to a man who would lose it if he didn't have hope that someone like him would come along, even after two attempts and failing, and having to pretend to be someone else day after day so he wouldn't be murdered. And this girl was a teenager. Imagine the adult trainers.

"Why is Aquata so bent on shaping everything to Delilah's will?"

"Because he's afraid of her."

"Why? She's just a young human."

"He was her first Pokemon back when she was thirteen, him being a Corphish. Back then, she was quite physical with her discipline. But that was just because she was a stupid kid and didn't know better, eventually stopping. But as a young Corphish, Aquata thought that he was completely inferior and that this was perfectly acceptable. I can't even tell you the correct words to even paint a slightly similar image in your mind about how hard that girl hurt him each beating. She did it for the silliest reasons, too. Like if he fouled up a simple bubble attack because he just learned it."

"Oh my…." Ambrose was disgusted. He actually was feeling sorry for Aquata at this point. Were all humans this bad?

"I know. He became so obsessed with doing everything perfectly to her expectations to spare himself beatings. Once I came along and started being rude to her, he needed to set me in my place so everything I did made Delilah happy, preventing himself being beaten for him allowing me to continue this behavior."

"How do you know all this?"

"He gave a nice little speak while he was choking me the first time. Plus, he talks in his sleep. I put the pieces together."

"I- I'm sorry you have to live like this," Ambrose said, completely unknowing what else to add. He'd never had felt genuinely sympathetic to someone before. The egg shook.

"….meo."

Ambrose looked at his egg, highly concerned for it. Even if didn't plan to keep it, he couldn't have it brainwashed by Delilah. He'd rather kill it right then and there.

"I don't want you or your child to turn into one of those over there. So you've got to work with me, Ambrose. It's our only chance out of this nightmare."

"I absolutely agree, Scar- Oh. Wait. You didn't tell me your actual name."

"It's Edder. But don't get used to calling me that, we don't want the massive idiot to catch on."

Ambrose smirked a bit. He had finally found someone that was on the same caliber of logic as he was! Hope reigned through his heart. "You can count on me, Scaredo."

"Right back at ya, Alberstein."

They both chortled a bit at the same time. Maybe things were finally starting to look up?

….Having a moment to think, did his egg just meow? Wasn't it a fox?

They all finally reached the mini-stadium. There was a smug human boy casually bouncing a Pokéball in his hand, obviously trying too hard to look cool.

A loud cry woke Nova up. The Absol's eyes snapped open, only for her to see that it was a curious Pidgey standing in front of her. She lifted her head and the small bird pokemon flew off. She looked around and saw that the others weren't any where around even though it was getting to be quite late in the day. 'They must not have come by this way,' she thought. 'Oh well. I guess I'll just go on my own. Maybe I should go for Groudon...' Deciding that that would be the best course of action at the moment, she tried to remember where Celebi had said Groudon would be. 'That's right, it was Mt. Chimney.' That confirmed, The dark-furred Absol set off to the west. She hoped to be able to reach Fortree City by nightfall so she could pass it under the cover of darkness, therefore lowering her chances of being caught. There weren't many trainers that went out in the dark and even if she did run into any, Absol were dark-type pokemon and that gave them an advantage during the night.

"Daiyu, come over here!" Riz said and pointed. Behind a cliff was indeed an opening. Steep, down into the hill's inside.

"Well," Riz said, "we know what awaits us. At least eventually. We don't know how far and deep we'll have to go in order to find him though. Wanna find out?" he said, looking straight at Daiyu.

"Yes, how else would we beat his ass?" she replied, although her enthusiasm wasn't present in her tone.

"And don't worry about the darkness," Riz added and lit up his tail all of a sudden. It shone brightly enough to easily light up a cave. "I know the move Flash."

Daiyu nodded and looked down behind the cliff where the opening was located. It was very steep, but the cliff itself wasn't so high up that they couldn't jump down.

"Alright, I'm gonna jump down," Daiyu said, leaping off the cliff. She landed on her feet. Looking up at Riz, she called out, "Come on!" She turned forward again and kept walking till she bumped into something.

"Oof- watch where you're going!!!" Daiyu exclaimed at the spiky mouse. It was a Sandslash, and it just stood there, blocking her way. She glared at it and walked around, only for it to step in front of her and block her from advancing again.

"Move it!"

Again he blocked her as she tried going around again.

"I said move it!!!" Daiyu said, releasing a powerful thunderbolt. The static ran along the Sandslash's back, doing absolutely nothing. Suddenly, a short, chubby old man wearing a safari outfit and a pith helmet walking over from behind a pile of boulders.

"What did you find, Sandslash?" he asked, removing his hat and rubbing his bald head. "Oh, a Pikachu!" he exclaimed, looking at the top of the cliff and seeing Riz. "And a Raichu, too! What are they doing here?"

Daiyu glared at the human and then turned to look at Riz as if asking for his approval to shock him. But even if she did, getting rid of the Sandslash would be a more difficult task.

"Let's catch them, Sandslash!"

"I said move it!!!" Riz heard Daiyu say down in the cave. Then came a crackle of an electric attack.

"Daiyu! Are you alright down there?" Riz said before jumping down as well. The floor was moist, probably due to rain having run down from the opening.

"What did you find, Sandslash? Oh, a Pikachu!" a voice suddenly came from in front of him. He moved his tail like a scorpion in front of his face to see what was going on. The cave lit up and he could see Daiyu standing close to him. In front of them was a Sandslash... and a human.

"And a Raichu, too! What are they doing here?" the human said.

Daiyu glared at the human and then turned to look at Riz as if asking for his approval to shock him. Riz didn't notice it at first. He was temporarily paralyzed from seeing a human so close, in here. In the middle of the jungle, inside what could be considered holy grounds since a legendary pokémon was resting here. What. Was. That. Human doing here?

Riz finally turned to look at the Pikachu. "Ever wanted to be in the teams of pokémon who venture out to the edge of the jungle to seek out humans and fight them?" he asked her.

"Let's catch them, Sandslash!" the human said, smiling. Sandslash readied his claws.

"This is your chance," the Raichu finished. "I'll handle the Sandslash."

In his eyes, it was a logical decision. Daiyu didn't have much brute force, but strong electrical attacks. Riz was brute force. If one of them could take down a ground type, it was him.

"Sandslash, Slash!" the human called out, smiling crazily. He doesn't know what's coming for him, Riz thought as he jumped toward the cave wall. Sandslash directed his attack to there, but Riz shoot off with his strong legs and jumped out of the way. The Slash hit the wall instead and made the cave rumble a bit.

Riz jumped towards the other cave wall and then took off with a headbutt attack towards the Sandslash. It hit right in the belly and made the ground type tumble over as Riz stumbled for a second to regain his balance. The Sandslash got back up. It wasn't hurt much. Riz took the risk to look over his shoulder to see what Daiyu was doing.

Amethyst watched in fearful shock as some creature she had never seen before appeared taking Ambrose and the egg. She saw Cobalt shaking and when he snapped out of it she spoke voice full of worry and fear. "C-Cobalt what was that thing that took Ambrose? W-Why did it take him! A-Are you okay?" she said all at once shaking from fear and from having gotten wet in the rain. I've never seen anything like that creature...it's k-kinda scary she thought shaking more.

(OOC: Feeling a little better but my posts will be around this length until I'm fully better and Amethyst has never seen a Human before)

Cobalt tried to speak several times, but couldn't find his voice. All that came out of him was a whimper. Ambrose Flannigan! The egg! How could he have just sat there and watched them get taken?! Now they were gone forever, and there was nothing he could do about it anymore.
Maybe you could still go after them! Maybe you could go get the pack to help!
No, he couldn't do that. He wasn't strong enough to fight a human, and they weren't on the land of the pack. There was nothing he could do.

"C-Cobalt what was that thing that took Ambrose? W-Why did it take him! A-Are you okay?" Ame asked very quickly. Cobalt turned to her. She looked just as frightened as he was. He tried to answer her and only a whimper came out. He shook himself a little.

"Th-that was a human. They are very bad things that take pokemon like us and use them as slaves to fight with, or worse. It's very scary. A long time ago a human almost caught me. It was the scariest thing that's ever happened to me. She must have wanted to use Ambrose Flannigan and the egg as hers! But, they aren't hers! What can we do!?" Cobalt finally said. He was panicking a lot. He didn't know what to do in this situation! He desperately wanted Ame to tell him how to proceed.
