Why the hell is this thread so empty? SGDQ's a super fun time, people. Honestly, I'd really love it if VG got into this event a bit more because it's just really good energy for a really good cause. It never really had a huge following here but this is the place that I found out about it at and every year since I've watched both AGDQ and SGDQ. It opened my eyes to how fun speedrunning is as both a spectacle and a hobby- but really, even the people alone are fun to watch.

Generally we get a lot of cool runners that like to interact with the couch, the audience, and the online viewers, and even when they don't it's pretty often that they're personable or fun. And experiencing an event like this with others is just comfy as hell.

Pretty psyched about this one. I didn't get to watch a lot of AGDQ this year so I'm hoping I can make it up this year. I'm excited by some of the new entries though I am a bit sad that we won't be seeing a Breath of the Wild speedrun. Say what you will about the game, but a speedrun of it on the world stage would be pretty wild crazy.

1001 Spikes will be very interesting. I've played that game and it's absolutely infuriatingly brutal. Similar to Super Meat Boy, the deaths are because of your own mistakes. And if you die, you restart at the beginning of the level. If he can beat 22 minutes, I will be very very impressed. That's shits going to be intense.
