ok ive added the shadow moves from the wiki to the moves.txt pbs file and added the pokemon (in this case squirtle) to shadowmoves.txt with a shadow move set but it does not seam to give squirtle any of these moves but only shadow rush but even that has no pp, and an incorrect description.

any ideas what i can do (tried with other pokemon and same, also tried a new game with same effect)

Add the Shadow type to types.txt. That solves everything.

The only issue then is that there aren't any graphics for the Shadow type (i.e. an icon in types.png, move boxes in battleFightButtons.png). For the former, the Contest type Cool's icon is used instead. I haven't checked what happens for the latter, but I imagine no graphics are used.

The reason your Squirtle only knows the one move is that its Heart's Door is fully closed. Open it up a bit (there's a Debug option to do that) and it'll relearn some more moves. At least, that's how it works in Colosseum (I haven't played XD so I don't know if it should be different).

The same thing, but some pokémon have two, three or four shadow moves when it is caught (and battled). When the pokémon have 4 moves (in total, shadow or non-shadow) it stops learning new ones until purification.

ok well thank you guys everything seams to work fine

also here are updated type files that contain the shadow type for those who are intrested

I'm a bit confused. When you turn a normal pokémon to a shadow Pokémon, it only knows one shadow move (Shadow Rush), even you have two or more moves defined in shadowmoves.txt (e.g. Lugia). Is it a purpose or a bug?
