Hey there! I would like to join the Shiny Hunters Club since I search for shinies quite often in my free time.
Recently I have been chain fishing a lot, I got these shinies: Magikarp, Gyarados (didn't wanna evolve Magikarp), Seadra, Alomomola and Sharpedo (I think I forgot one)
And when hatching a competitive Tangela (I know, Tangela isn't competitive, but I tried) my first egg actually was a shiny.
Plus yesterday I was looking for a Hidden Ability Wurmple and I thought about DexNav chaining while hunting for it.
Yup, #PurpleWurmple.
Meet Snivy! With 4 perfect IVs (-Atk, -Spd), a Timid nature, and her HA, I couldn't be more thrilled with her--particularly with that awful female ratio that starters have.
Back again! I was trying to get a Male Shiny Ralts today. This time trying to chain it with DexNav on OR. Got a shiny Ralts within 10 encounters. Sadly it was female.
So that makes 3 in about 24 hours. Winguill, Weepinbell and Ralts.
I tried getting ralts and taillow in the weekend but i was so unlucky.
250+ Encounters on ralts with dexnav
190+ Encounters on taillow with dexnav
But nothing. I will try it again next weekend.
My latest Shiny is a Shiny Luvdisc called Valentina caught in X on Valentine's Day. It was my longest ever Shiny Fishing chain with 193 casts.
Slightly off-topic but my favourite Shiny is my Shiny Lilligant Jessica that I caught as a Petilil in a Mirage Island in Alpha Sapphire a while back. Here is a Contest Picture.
I've now done over 20,000 encounters since my last shiny! "lol" but I'm having a lot of fun. I did a bunch of encounters throughout Hoenn on Valentine's Day, since I decided to go fishing for a shiny Luvdisc by Ever Grande Falls as razer302 once did (By the way, huge shout-out to Razer!! I was reading some posts from way back in 2006, and when I came across a post by him, the blue circle next to his name was filled, and sure enough, when I got to the bottom of the page, it said that he was online and viewing this thread!!!! Huge props to him for being an awesome shiny hunter, even 10 years later!!!!). I ran into a bunch of Pokemon on my way from the Jagged Pass to Ever Grande (yes, I walked/Surfed! :D ), but none were shiny. I'm still fishing, and hopefully I'll have a shiny or two before I return to the main Hoenn island! :)
I noticed a couple of cool things about Emerald that I hadn't realized before while hunting along the Jagged Pass. When in the battle screen and selecting your attacks, you can hold the D-Pad in an outer direction to exit the attack menu! Like, if your cursor is over the default attack, you can hold Up or Left to go back to the FIGHT/BAG/POKéMON/RUN screen! Likewise, you can hold Right or Down when at the bottom-right attack to exit the menu. You don't even have to hit B!
As I've said before, the Jagged Pass is a very dangerous piece of land. The ledges are very narrow, and there isn't much grass - without my Illuminate Lanturn, it'd take forever to get encounters done! The best spot for hunting, I've found, is a small patch of grass towards the bottom of the escarpment. I bike back and forth east and west, and as soon as I end a battle, I look for another one - I'm a shiny hunter! But sometimes I absentmindedly try biking north/south, as I'm often doing something else while hunting (like reading this thread, "lol"). In the Fiery Path, the best way to hunt was to bike north/south, so I'm pretty used to that as my default direction, and many times I've found myself holding the Down button as soon as I've run from a battle.
As a result, I've fallen off the ledge many times. "lol" the trainers nearby probably think I'm crazy to keep jumping down the ledge and coming all the way around again from the top of the mountain! {XD} I always use the Mach Bike to shiny hunt since it makes the encounters go by much more easily, so I don't have Acro abilities to jump back to where I was. Having fallen off the cliff, I have to traverse all the way up top again, sometimes stopping by Lavaridge Town to restore my Lanturn's PP (I've taken to occasionally fainting some of the wild Pokemon to train Lanturn up a bit so it can use its Illuminate Ability in areas with higher-level Pokemon) and resuming my hunt.
This means one very important thing: I've used the Cable Car a lot!! I've probably ridden it more than anyone else in Hoenn, "lol." I enter the base, speak with the attendant, enjoy a leisurely ride up the mountain, watch the serene forests behind me slowly start accumulating ash from Mt. Chimney, and then exit the car, thank the attendant, check the trash barrels, step outside, mount the Mach Bike, and dash down the mountain, jumping dangerous ledges in pursuit of my next shiny. I've done this many dozens of times by now, and the little sojourn has been the same every time.
Except once. Just once, I caught a glimpse of something that shattered the monotony of my days; while riding up the mountain in the Cable Car, somebody was running around on the mountain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sure of it!! This definitely happened. A green Camper trainer was exploring the mountain, and at one point, she stopped to look around. I've checked for her every time since then, but I've yet to see her appear again.
We all know that shiny Pokemon exist: every encounter with a wild Pokemon has a very minuscule chance of resulting in an extremely rare occurrence, with a Pokemon of a different color appearing instead. But what if there are other events like this? What if there's an alternative to what happens when you ride up on the Cable Car?
"lol" have any of you experienced this? I might've discovered something really rare, although I have no idea for sure since nobody really travels on the Cable Car that many times, "lol."
Sweet, congrats on those shinies, asphodel!! Way to go on getting two Grass-types already, haha! Which one do you think you'll go for next?
Your team's coming along quite nicely so far! If I were you, I wouldn't evolve the Cherubi - I can't stand the nonsunlight version of its evolution, haha. It's fine in sun, but without it, it just looks like some ugly vegetable, "lol."

Sweet, congrats on those shinies!! You got as many in a day as I've gotten this year, haha. Hope you find the male shiny Ralts soon (with your luck, I'm sure you will! :))!

Welcome to the club, Slowpoke13!! Congrats on those shinies - getting a shiny on the first egg is amazing!! And I'm loving that you were breeding for a Pokemon that "isn't competitive" - that's one of the most fun things!! It's boring when everyone has the same Scizor/Ferrothorn/Heatran team; using Pokemon that aren't often used is super fun!! Those teams are always the coolest ones, haha.
Good luck on your hunts!! #PurpleWurmple is an awesome idea, "lol!"

Congrats on the Luvdisc! It's a really sweet shiny, and I'm trying to get one myself now, haha.
That's an awesome picture! And posting cool things about shinies you've gotten isn't offtopic, and discussion about your favorite shiny and stuff is definitely something we love to hear!
But also, we allow offtopic posting here, and it's actually encouraged! As long as you mention something about how your hunts are going or what you're looking for, you can post whatever you want! This is a Club thread instead of a "Post Your Shiny Captures" thread, so we have a lot more freedom. Feel more than welcome to hang out with other shiny hunters here, and anything's good as long as you mention your hunts/targets somewhere in your post! {:3}
EDIT: Actually, you don't even have to do that. Even replying to another post makes yours ontopic, "lol!"
Congrats on the Zigzagoon!! I could never tell what the difference was between the shiny one and the regular (despite finding a couple myself, "lol!"), but that picture makes it really clear. The shiny one's a lot brighter!! That makes it cooler than I had previously thought, haha. That picture substantially improved my opinion of shiny Zigzagoon! :pink_laugh:
Shiny Zigzagoon actually looks like a Zigzagoon that's shiny, hahaha!! {XD}
Hi. I'd like the join the club. While most of my shinies have been acquired through trading, I have encountered a few by random chance, and have now started actively hunting them.
These are the ones I've actually caught: Skorupi (now Drapion), Phantump, Oddish, Zorua (now Zoroark), 2 Eevees, Magikarp (now Gyarados), Swablu, and Joltik.
Shiny Male Duosion - I have extensively been EV training my Pokémon for the Unova PWT and whilst training my Gardevoir on Route 9 I ran into this fellow. Amazingly it was my first encounter of that training session. My thoughts were unusual...
'Duosion, Special Attack, that's good...wait aren't they meant to be Green?'
*Sparkles popped from the Mitosis Pokémon with that brilliant Shiny Sound*
'Oh Shiny. Full odds Shiny. Really nice Shiny. Gardevoir Hypnosis'
*Gardevoir used Hypnosis, Shiny Duosion broke out of three Pokeballs before waking up.*
'Master Ball maybe? No. It's not going to kill itself is it?'
*Gardevoir used Hypnosis again but needed three shots to hit. Shiny Duosion fell asleep*
'Timer Ball maybe'
*Shiny Duosion was caught*
My Shiny Duosion is male, Level 37, Quirky nature and met on Route 9. The stats judge says it has two 'fantastic' stats of Special Attack and Special Defense. This guy's going to hit like a train. :D
I plan to evolve him into Reuniclus (Another brilliant Shiny) and train him up for the PWT and Battle Subway.
So a random Shiny, the most aesthetically pleasing Shiny on that Route. And it has solid stats. Certainly one of my top five Shiny captures. :D
Happy Leap Day!!! I'm so glad we get an extra day to hunt this year, haha. This only happens once every four years!!!!!
*tries to break personal record for most shinies in a year*
*madly attacks every Pokemon that comes down the waterfall*
I've still been fishing at the base of Ever Grande Falls, but I haven't found a shiny yet. I haven't been counting my encounters, and it feels like it's taking a lot longer, haha. I like being able to keep track of my pace and whatnot when I'm counting my encounters, and the tally always makes it seem like the encounters are going by more quickly, "lol." I understand the independence of trials, but I still like to think that I'm making some sort of progress, haha. But I won't give up!!!

Oh dear, seem to have missed quite a bit! Welcome new members and congrats on everyone's shiny haul!
I've been trying to catch a shiny Minun in OR for the Shiny Badge Quest but no joy yet. Taking a break to play through Yellow but I might have to visit AS for a quick hunt as I'm getting withdrawal symptoms as not caught a shiny for ages!
Shiny Female Gothita (Cassandra) - Now this is a Shiny I have been looking for for quite some time. She finally appeared on a Chain of about 80 Dexnav Encounters and after 804 Dexnav Encounters.
I was looking away from the screen as the encounter started and looked back at the screen as I saw the sparkles and the purple coloured eyes.
She has a Jolly Nature with Mirror Coat Egg Move. I plan to evolve her into Gothitelle and use her for Contests. I already have a Gothitelle from a trade but it is excellent I have now caught one myself. :)

Good luck! I sure know what you're feeling - I haven't had a shiny since January! Good luck on your Minun and keep us posted on your Badge Quest progress!! :)

Sweet, congrats! Do you give your contest Pokemon moves that are great for contests? I've always had my Pokemon learn their best attacking moves and did contests with the ones who just happened to have good contest moves, so I'm not sure if Coordinators would give them TMs or level-up moves that might be useless in battling but really good in contests, "lol." Have fun with your shiny in the Contest!
