Latest!

Spoiler:

My annual Halloween Hunt is finally a success! 1/1365 on X with Shiny Charm. XL form but it didn't pick up the hidden ability. 😢

With that, I'm off to chain some Hawlucha before Halloween is over. I just love its spooky shade of purple which just makes me think of Halloween for some reason! 😅

When you're just climbing random cliffs for items and you see a green/blueish bat :coolcat:
Spoiler:

Caught 2 random shinies while exploring the SV DLC. =3

A shiny bat the day before Halloween. I don't celebrate Halloween, but it seems fitting anyway.
Spoiler:

Actually thought this was the very next day, but there's a day in between. Was cruising around exploring when I noticed an odd color out of the corner of my eye. Turned to see a shiny Sudowoodo. =3
Spoiler:

After wrapping up stuff on my child account I went to my main account for a short shiny hunt on Iron Bundle... which somehow resulted in me getting 3 different shinies lol

First, I went to a Lechonk outbreak to boost the shiny odds by defeating an outbreak.... and then I suddenly saw this:
Spoiler:

So first shiny, Lechonk:
Spoiler:

Then after defeating the Outbreak I entered Area Zero and was just defeating some Frosmoths near the entrance... when I noticed my Ceruledge refusing to attack one of them...
Spoiler:

So that's a second shiny I happened upon that wasn't even my target. I already shiny bred the Snom line in Sport Balls in Shield though, so the Frosmoth wasn't all that exciting. A shiny is a shiny though =P

Did not see a shiny Iron Bundle during the same Ice types shiny sandwich sadly. Might've been possible if Area Zero allowed you to Picnic for a fast area reset.
Anyway.. made another shiny Ice sandwich. Switched to a different area as I wanted somewhere with no other Ice types spawning in. Came across this sight at 10 minutes into the sandwich:

Spoiler:

I present to you... Iron Bundle, the Cloud Watcher:
Spoiler:

Yep... my shiny Iron Bundle came with a Mark =D

I also caught a shiny Quagsire on my child account in the DLC prior to this, and although I did take screenshots of it, I seem to have forgotten to take screenshots of my other child account shiny, which was a Pawmi (now Pawmot). So I'll leave those for later I guess as I'm already in a shiny breed in Shield that I don't want to interrupt.

Found a Shiny Excadrill and Autumn Deerling bouncing between Eelektrik and Karrablast these past # months. I've mainly been focusing on Pokémon whose real-life counterparts I've encountered or Pokémon I could imagine myself using in the Pokémon world (as non-Shinies), but I wasn't convinced that either would become especially significant to me and decided to shift gears. Why not hunt my favorite fish-mon, one that happens to have a beautiful Shiny?

This guy turned up last night (as a Horsea):

[PokeCommunity.com] ~>{*Shiny Hunters Club}<~

His nickname references the island from the Lugia movie, as he was found right outside Lugia's chamber. (I know that the Whirl Islands aren't part of the Orange Archepelago, but seeing as Lugia was originally created exclusively for the movie and not the games, maybe there's a connection!) I learned that it's actually a type of orange, which I guess fits Shiny Kingdra's orange belly.

Kingdra's kind of special to me. Not only is it nostalgic (particularly its Neo Genesis card), it also indirectly inspired the "Dark Magician" of my imaginary card game. I immediately made the connection after seeing a leafy seadragon on TV, inspiring me to create my own spin on it. I'd learn years later that it's actually based on a COMMON seadragon, but I'm still partial to Kingdra even now that we have a proper leafy seadragon (Dragalge).

Saw this when I was running around Kitakami on my child account before going back to my main account:
Spoiler:

The Tera glow made it a lot less obvious to me for some reason. Stood and looked at it from afar and just kind went 'it looks off, doesn't it?'

Spoiler:

Probably would've cared more for it if I hadn't caught 6 shiny Quagsire already during Ultra Wormhole shiny hunting =P

And here's my other child account shiny, a shiny Pawmi that's now a Pawmot:
Spoiler:

Met that Pawmi all the way at the start of that playthrough, before you even interact with Miraidon for the first time so I used it on my playthrough =3

And of course, my last shiny eeveelution, Umbreon, which was bred and hatched on the 1st day of the new year =D

bumped into this little fella while I was going from Raid Den to Raid Den, preparing a new team for the Indigo Disk DLC:
Spoiler:

While in the Terrarium, upon entering the Coastal Biome, right as I was about to save and quit for the night, something caught my eye:
Spoiler:

Whilst briefly in the Canyon biome for a BBQ picture task, I hopped on a ledge and came across an orange boulder with arms:
Spoiler:

And here's the shiny Munchlax I got for ousting ogres with Lavender =D

Spoiler:

And I caught another shiny earlier today, but I'm already past the attachment limit lol

The shiny I mentioned in my last post:
Spoiler:

Orange boulder with arms the 2nd, but this one has a mark =3
Spoiler:

Both of those were on the same day =3

And like 45 minutes ago I was about to fly off from a mountaintop with treecko's on it after catching 3 for the dex, and right as I opened my map something yellow with wings spawned in in the background and caught my attention:
Spoiler:

Kinda would've preferred Swablu here as I already caught a shiny Altaria during my Ultra Wormhole shiny hunt, but I'm not complaining. Altaria is a nice mon.
Nearly missed it too. Spawned in right as I was about to fly away via the map xD

Was on a Fighting type Shiny Sandwhich when I bumped into this little one:
Spoiler:

Pretty much gave up on the Fighting shiny sandwich to capture the little oinker in a Moon Ball instead =3

Sandwiches seem to be bugged for me. If I used the exact same recipe for a shiny sandwich twice in a row, the second time it will be bugged. It'll list the sandwich buffs and puts them on the effects tab... but then nothing of that sandwich type actually spawns and I just get normal spawns. I can still do for example 2 Shiny Fire Sandwiches in a row... just not with the same recipe.
Pretty sure that Fighting type sandwich was bugged anyway... I should've been seeing like 95% of encounters as Fighting types. There were no more than usual without a sandwich.

Anyway I digress, that little Tepig kinda had me go down a little Starter shiny hunt marathon, hunted the entire Tepig line, though only the original one before the sandwiches went into a Moon Ball. Then moved onto hunting a certain white cat:
Spoiler:

Caught Two shiny Tepig in 1 sandwich, though just barely as the second one spawned in with 4 seconds left on the clock lol
Caught two shiny Littens in 1 sandwich. Then caught the 3rd at only 3 minutes into the next sandwich, so uh... kinda went to a place nearby where I knew I could find two other Fire type starters so as not to waste 27 minutes of a shiny sandwich and found this:
Spoiler:

So basically 3 Fire type sandwiches, with only 1 dud Fire type sandwich that had me reload between the 1st and second ones. And a bugged Fighting type sandwich...
And now I got the entire Tepig and Litten lines shiny + a Scorbunny =D

Mashed their status screens together to save on images to upload. Tepig + Litten + Scorbunny:
Spoiler:

Pignite & Emboar:
Spoiler:

Torracat & Incineroar:
Spoiler:

Except for the Moon Ball Emboar which was the first Tepig which was caught yesterday... all of them were caught today lol

Two Picnic screenshots:
Spoiler:

Two Picnic screenshots:
Spoiler:
Emboar's shiny is so good! and I have yet to hunt the litten line, I'm still mostly busy with shiny hunting regice, which just reached 1000 encounters today, lol.

Decided to give Scorbunny a whole family

Spoiler:

Caught two more Scorbunny on the same shiny sandwich... after reloading twice due to nothing showing up =P
Spoiler:

After that I tried Cyndaquil for a bit, but after 8 sandwiches in that tiny cave and nothing to show for it I abandoned that hunt and I'll have to hope for an Outbreak I guess.

I then went to the Savannah and caught two shiny Charmanders:
Spoiler:

Both of which were on individual sandwiches, so no 2 for 1 luck there D=
Had to reload twice and got the 1st one on the 3rd attempt. Then after saving that I had to reload once more and got the 2nd one on the 5th attempt.

And then I brought over my accidental shiny Charmander from breeding years ago in Shield:
Spoiler:

And then united the three in SV:
Spoiler:

I find it weird how I saw not a single shiny Chimchar in 4 shiny sandwiches and yet got 3 shiny Scorbunnies pretty fast. The two spawn in the exact same areas, basically side by side.

Two screenshots of encountering a shiny Scorbunny and a Charmander:
Spoiler:

Wasn't expecting to post here again for a while given that I ditched Violet and was going to do some videogame backlog cleaning...
... but then I decided to clean up some breeding backlog first, had 9 HA/Aprimons just sitting a in a box in Shield for like a year. Partially forgotten lol

Anyway, this wasn't a shiny breed at all. I was just having them forget moves and empty move slot breeding moves onto them to have all the moves for same species mon match, as well as breeding the HA onto a couple 'new' apriballs.

And while I was processing the Sport Ball HA Growlithe this guy pretty much 'just showed up':
Spoiler:

My mind just went 'well I guess that just happened, huh?'
I ain't turning down a free Sport Ball Growlithe :sneaky:

No Masuda for this either. They were just two same English language Growlithes. Would've made more sense for it to happen when I did the German Moon Ball Munna, but whatever. RNG is just weird at times =D

Shiny Eelektrik get! I'd been hunting this one on and off since finding my first lamprey in back in 2021. Now I have a Shiny version of all the Pokémon on my TrainerSona's team at full odds!

Still thinking about a nickname. I'd been considering Brook, after our local least brook lamprey, but I honestly prefer it as a feminine name.

EDIT: Maybe Beckett? From beck, a synonym for brook. Its "weird" design does kind of make me think of those early Gen. II illustrations from Beckett's unofficial Pokémon magazine.

That sounds like a creative and fitting choice! "Beckett" has a unique and meaningful association, and the connection to a synonym for "brook" adds a nice touch. It's always fun when a Pokémon's name reflects a personal or local inspiration. Best of luck with your Shiny Eelektrik and its new name!

I mentioned in the mental health club that I had sad experience with a lonely, abandoned cat in my neighborhood in need of medical care. I took him in, tried to nurse him until I could get an animal specialist, but he did not survive. I called this delicate kitty Lynx, because he had a muted color scheme and markings on him. In his honor I caught a shiny eevee, and named him Lynx too. While I couldn't keep him in this world, I can have a little of him within the Pokemon one.

I have acquired other shiny pokemon this month, but for sentimental reasons this one is the closest to my heart.

Took a break from my Karrablast hunt to participate in Egg Month. Why I decided to hatch Glameow instead of Karrablast idk but I hatched the purple kitty after only 171 full-odds eggs!

And it's a 25% male! Was kind of hoping for a male since Glameow does remind me of my cat a little. Y'know, if you mixed it with Espurr and Purrloin/Torracat.
