The problem with this poll is it doesn't give a option for people that would rather have ash go for someone else, which is why the shipping thread is good. It doesn't tell you that you HAVE to ship ash with the main girls or anything else.
I would love for Ash to go with Misty, being the big pokeshipper that I am, however, at the moment, it seems that he only cares about pokemon and I do not think that will change anytime soon.

It might just be me, but I find Duplica to be one of the most detestable characters on the show. Its probably her stupid name.

She's a recurring character who so far has only appeared in the Japanese episodes. However, assuming the US broadcasts keep to one a week (with no breaks) she should appear in the first episode of 2009 (January 3rd).
oh.....well since she's only been in Japanese episodes, that may be why I had no idea who she was xD Anyway, thanks for the info.
AND getting back on topic, I dont think it matters who we want/think Ash should be with, we all know its gonna be Misty in the end, May and Dawn being close second guesses...unless Ash gets his head on straight and goes for other girls, like Aoi, or....um.....Annabelle, I think was her name in the dub? Anyway, the Frontier Brain who could mentally communicate with her Pokemon who has a crush on Ash (stopped paying much attention to the anime after Battle Frontier started)

I always thought it was so stupid at how Ash and co. thought Anabel was a boy(we are talking about the idiots who fall for team rockets disguises). Is as if they had no other plot ideas. I saw her the first time and she nor her voice look THAT much like a boy. With Aoi i really fell for it. Most likely her name will be something like Alex to make her more suprising.

I've always been a Pokeshipper, even if it's pretty much one-sided. They have been friends from the very beginning. I believe if Ash was to mature (also known as becoming older) and start to take notice in something other than Pokemon and battling he could be in a relationship with Misty. Then again it's wishful thinking.
I think they leave it open because Pokemon is a children's show and let it up to the viewers to use their imaginations.

...did you seriously just call it a children's show? That is exactly the problem with Pokemon now, why its so crappy- because everyone thinks its for little kids, which if we all look at the older episodes and manga and video games.....total opposite, ITS MENT FOR EVERYONE FROM AGE 1 TO AGE OVER 9000!!!!!!
Now don't think I'm flamming you or anything....it does sound like it at first, but I mean no harm by it. But yes, I think if people's mentallity would go back to how it used to and relaize Pokemon is not just for kids, Ash MIGHT mature and might look at Misty and think what any kid his age would think:
"Wow...she's kinda hot."
I'm sorry, but the televison show is seriously intended for younger children. I love Pokemon don't get me wrong but that's how it's seen as. .__.; I can't help if the world happens (and even myself) to view that way.

Yes, I know....which is why I wish the dubbing companies had stayed the same...ya know, 4kids and Viz never split up, and PUSA never got the rights to Pokemon....because it at least wouldn't be seen mainly as a kids show. Seriously, its sad to see something like Pokemon degraded to a little kids Saturday Morning cartoon.
I want the old Pokemon back.
lol the reason everyone isnt mentioning May or even Dawn (much) is because we all know Ash will end up with Misty, though May or Dawn would be a good second guess.
