Well, seeing as my stall team was a big success, I decided to shift gears back to standard. My first Shoddy team needs much revision still, but I'll do that later. Anyway, here's Shoddy Team Version 3. It's rather standard to be honest, but I need a few fixing points.
This new version has given me a 10 win streak as a start; not bad if you ask me.
You're in a lot of pain (Yanmega) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 252 Spd/252 SAtk/6 SDef
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
- Hidden Power [Ice]/Hidden Power [Ground]
- Hypnosis
Scarf Tinted Lens lead Yanmega. It hits things rather powerful thanks to coverage and good STAB, and has Hypnosis to boot as well for anything that I don't even want to try fighting. HP Ground in consideration for Magnezone and Heatran, two common Yanmega counters.
Over past battles, I've learned something. Nobody on the face of the earth expects ScarfMega as a lead. Ninjask wants to Substitute, but then gets downed by Air Slash. Other Yanmega wanna get the speed tie, but they're downed as well. What I'm saying is this: Try out ScarfMega because it has a big surprise value (not for much longer though at the rate I face people, but still, think about it for the ladder since I don't use the ladder.)
---
Overrated (Swampert) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Def
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Stone Edge
- Waterfall
CB Swampert is an extreme rarity, so its surprise value is pretty nice. It's also a good rock resist, but I may have to resort to standards again... I don't want to, but hey, standards are usually top-value. Quake 2HKOs Blissey, and Waterfall has a chance to as well. This thing looks nice, and I just wanna give it a whirl.
---
Your Wife (Blissey) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 42 sp.atk/252 Def/216 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Softboiled
- Seismic Toss
- Ice Beam
- Aromatherapy
Honestly a complete standard, but what do you expect of your wife? *shot* Ice Beam helps deal with Gengar and makes sure I can at LEAST damage ghosts...
---
I am not Blue Dragon. (Salamence) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/38 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Dragon Claw
- Roost
- Roar
- Wish
Even better fighting resist than before, WishMence helps to fill some useful niches on this team. Pass Wish, Roar out something setting up (*stares at SDLuke*), and Dragon Claw is always nice to have around.
---
a duck that floats (Cresselia) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/108 Def/150 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Reflect
- Rest
A duck that floats makes its return as a Rester, so it requires Blissey's clericing. Reflect is godly in terms of messing up Dragons that use Dragon Dance or Outrage, and I Ice Beam into oblivion.
---
Thing (Forretress) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 254 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Gyro Ball
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
My standard Forretress; I enjoy the insane amount of physical punishment this thing takes, but it seems like it can only last a while. Spins and sets up Toxic Spikes.
---
The team has some major problems fixed, but with Swampert as an unreliable Rock resist, yet a very powerful hitter, it's a trade-off I'll still risk.
