The question speaks for itself. What do you guys think? I think CoD should get rid of them they make the game a lot less fun.
I think they are overpowered... in MW1 and WaW they were balanced, but MW2 ruinied it all with the Nuke, AC-130, Pave Low and the EMP

You never see anyone with 5 bars, it's so rare that it's not in the game. It only goes to 4.You very rarely see someone with 5 bars say in Black Ops get a Huey, Dogs, Rolling Thunder, Blackbird, or Gunship etc.
I had a post mostly typed up and I guess I got sidetracked by Guild Wars 2 again and forgot to finish it up...
They shouldn't get rid of them all together, but I think they should go back to 3/5/7. It was simple, no switching killstreaks or anything like that. Go back to them, bring back Stopping Power, take away anti-air support, and make it where Ghost/Assassin (or whatever perk they'll call it) not stop an attack helicopter. The reason why I want anti-air support gone is because if I earn a killstreak such as a Chopper Gunner on Black Ops... I don't want it to be shot down as soon as the door opens. The players are dumb/bad enough to give me 9 kills (8 with Hardline) so they should suffer for it. Why should I waste my time getting that only to have it shot down by someone going 2 and 18? In CoD4 you know what you did if a helicopter was called in? You pulled out an LMG/RPG and hoped others on your team did the same. You didn't switch to a UAV Jammer (Ghost/Assassin) class and run around the map. The only way to not be killed by the chopper was to run inside or shoot it down. And that thing was like the Pave Low in MW2 it ripped people apart, you were good enough to get 7 kills so you got something for it.
But they'll never go back to them days, days where the game wasn't flooded with kids and cry babies. Where if you were good people noticed and wanted to be on your team. These days if you're good you HAVE to be a hacker, cheater, or you have no life. Skill and outplayed never crossed their mind.
Hell, I think if they made a CoD4 remake most people would go back to MW3/BO2 (whatever came out before the remake) because these days people couldn't live without their cheap weapons (not to say CoD4 didn't have some OP weapons. M16 anyone? The original G3 before they killed the fire rate. And others), perks, or classes. They know nothing about map control and holding the best areas so the other team doesn't get them, and so on.

I will agree that connection is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) probs with CoD. If they had servers then a lot of probs would be fixed. I used to play some BF3 (both on the 360 and PC) and I never saw bullets go through people like I do on CoD. I never shot someone not moving 3 times in the head only to have them turn around and one shot me... due to connection. And so on.
I do agree that a host gets gimped somewhat (I get host sometimes and it's not the best host connection and so my shots won't kill), and it is sort of stupid.
But if you think you lose everytime due to you having 4 and them having 3 then it might be you being outplayed (you can blame lag compensation all day long doesn't mean it's the reason). As someone who plays on both a 3 bar and a 4 bar (depending on the group I'm playing with) I know for a fact that I'd take a 4 bar over a 3, and I know for a fact I do a lot better on a 4 bar. I know for a fact on the great 3 bar you talk about I see bullets not register, I see the killcam I fire 2 bullets when on my screen it was half a clip. I see my sniper shots go right through someone. Not saying it doesn't happen on a 4, but it doesn't happen as often. On a 4 I get less unregistered shots, I get less hit markers with a sniper and shotgun and more 1 hit kills with them, and over all more kills. I wouldn't have a prob if everyone had a 4 bar. That way it didn't come down to me getting ripped off due to me having a 3 bar and them having 4.
And just because someone kills you when you have a 4 and them have a 3 doesn't mean it's always connection based. Yes connection is a factor, a big factor. But like I said, I get 3 bar (again... when I wished I had a 4) and I can still go 20 and 5 in a TDM with no prob at all. And that's in a full party of good players, so I'm fighting against them for kills. The score would have likely been better had I gotten a 4 bar but that's beside the point. My point is, you're complaining about the wrong thing... complaining about having 4 bar... wow that's a new one.
