The great thing about old consoles? You can get them for like twenty dollars. ;D

There are still whole bunch of GREAT games for Gamecube, including some Pokemon games I played a while back but never was able to finish (Colosseum, GD) but also others such as Mario Sunshine and Super Smash Bros.

I have PS3 but so far I've really only played FFXIII on it. I bought a PS2 a while back in 2009 and have had great fun with it (FFX, FFXII, KH1&2) which shows money isn't everything.

So what do yo think? Should I spend the money (let's say 30+40 for GC and like 3-4 games) or save up for PS3 games?

I'd say Gamecube! You seem to enjoy those kind of games, which so far the PS3 hasn't really offered much in those style of games ('cept for FFXIII).

Get a Wii then, backwards compatibility + Wii games themselves. Then you could just buy a GC controller.

Or buy/download the Ratchet and Clank PS3 games.

The Gamecube had a good amount of true gems released for it. I'd say go for it, lots of good games are cheap, and add another console to the collection is always fun. And get a GameBoy Player too. :o

I'd say go for it. I have still have mine from 2001, and I don't regret not trading it for a newer system.

By the way, you should really try Odama if you get it.

oh the Gamecube. My very first game system. Super Smash Bros Melee is really a great game.

    yeah get the Gamecube.

    Soul Calibur II (2)
    Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess
    legend of Zelda Wind Waker
    Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness
    Burnout something something Revenge
    Tony Hawk 3...
    Metroid Prime
    Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
extra controllers, likely those made by non-Nintendo guys
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg...
    Sonic something
    Mario Party
    Mario Kart Double Dash
    Mario Golf Toadstool Tour
Lego Star Wars the Video Game (Teacups!!!)
Lego Star Wars II The Original Trilogy
Red Faction II (first person shooter with local multiplayer)
    Timesplitters
    Crazy Taxi

I still have my Gamecube from years ago. Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon: it's a Wonderful Life and The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker made having the gamecube the best investment I have every done console wise -- I own an Xbox 360 And have the same amount of games but have played it 1/1000th of the time.

The Gamecube, It was and still is full of win. Even if you're getting a Wii, I personally would have one for Novelty purposes. For some reason NES games don't feel the same on PC/Newer Console copy+paste.

Get the gamecube I got mine cheap.

Get a Wii. :D You get to play Wii games, and GameCube games! Also, you get to use the GameCube's memory card thingy and its controller. :D

If you don't have the money for a Wii, the Gamecube is a great thing in itself. I'd do it, but we already managed to get a Wii. Still gotta get that second controller, though...

i would say get a gamecube. but i would suggest getting a wii as others have said.

Wii, if not, GameCube. There are still a lot of great games for it.

I don't care that most people seem to think that the Gamecube was a flop, I play it more than anything. I have a Wii now, but to be honest, I just now figured out where the GCN controller ports are. Haha. But even still, the Gamecube showcased some amazing games. Also, you might want to pick up a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition. 4 Zelda games. :D

But yeah, if you don't have enough money for a Wii, I'd say your best bet is a Gamecube. :)

I'd say definatley. Gamecubes are awesome! Still has many great games that I'd still play if I could be bothered to find all the wires. Doshin the Giant, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, Mario Kart, Donkey Konga.. The list goes on.
