OOC: Lol, that name doesn't quite match the methods. XD Originally it was just a day when the whole sibling-set (All of them parents now) got together with a whole lot of alcohol involved. The story was that they were drinking in memory of the innocent children of the world. XD I suppose they just decided to make it more family-friendly later on. Not to say that alcohol wouldn't still be in the picture, mind you. ^-^ They've been up to a lot of that kind of stuff, actually. My dad and his drinking buddies once put together an organization called 'The Friends of Soberity' and they actually had a plan to request government funding for it. XD They decided against it though, even though technically they had a good chance of succeeding. ^-^

And yes, you are the pro of clothing Charon, I'll give it that. All hail! ^0^

But aye, there is always something new to be learned about the subtle art of insomnia, ne? XD

{Umm...here!} Kaika replied, nudging towards the fence, {Him bes goings straight over, right here.} the little Vulpix sniffed a bit more at the iron fence, {It-it bes smellings real fresh...} he added thoughtfully, his brow furrowed as he tried to puzzle through this dilemma, {Almost as if him bes goings here just now...}

"I'm telling you, there was more than one!"

The frustrated cry of a guardsman sounded from the other side of the fence, the voice's owner, a somewhat pudgy man in his mid-thirties with scruffy light brown hair, dressed in a somewhat dirty guardsman's uniform, massaging his stiff joints and the back of his head intently "I was going right over there to investigate a noise when some crazy bastard snuck up from behind and jumped me!"

"Another person, eh?" asked another man, this one a definitely older, more pompous and far more self-important looking one in a far more decorative uniform, his hair concealed beneath the cap, also significantly more decorative than the regular guardsman's, and a carefully trimmed black moustache hanging down below his nose, serving as the only piece of visible hair on his face, except for the man's heavy black eyebrows, "Then perhaps you could describe these mysterious intruders for me, hmm?" he leaned towards the guardsman with a definite air of triumph in his voice.

"Of course I can't." the other man replied irritably, "I told you, I was jumped from behind before I could check it out. I heard his voice, though..."

"Oh, splendid work!" the pompous one said sarcastically, "I suppose you're suggesting that we should now go and line up all the people in this city for a big voice auditioning, eh? Your story reeks of an overblown imagination a long way lad, we'll have to-" the man cut himself short, suddenly spotting Maxie and Kaika by the fence and striding over to them.

"Here, here." he declared pompously, "This is a private area missy, what do you think you are doing hanging around here, hmm?" he leaned closer to the girl, "I daresay that it is mighty suspicious for one like to you to be loitering about the scene of the crime. Now before you respond, keep in mind that I am well-versed in the Schoffhausen method of lie detection, and should you try to pull some kind of tricks I will find out. Now speak up, girl!" he said in an authoritan voice, "What are you doing here?"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile in the Azure Town pok?mon center, Rai exited the room he shared with Kayley and Jena in a much more positive mood than he had been in when he had entered, the peculiar object he had recieved from Tenari now securely latched onto the silver chain, it had been a surprisingly simple matter really, as the surface had given in under significant enough pressure to allow the chain to get through but had hardened back to its semi-solid state the moment he had withdrawn his hand. It would hold, just as long as someone didn't decide to simply pull the object straight off, and it wasn't really second to a gemstone in any visual way. Far less incriminating than his pendant too...

Walking downstairs, the boy could immediately notice a significant change in the reactions of others, noting with relief that the old Rai was indeed back in all aspects, and it didn't take too long for him to find someone to direct him to Amelia. The trainee was currently busy feverishly scrubbing away at the mountain of dishes she had been assigned, Kuro standing on the side and handing her dirty dish after dirty dish while the trainee did the actual cleaning. She had a definitely unconcentrating air about her though, her gaze frequently shifting towards the kitchen window when she thought no-one was looking, and Rai felt a definite sense of impending doom as he approached her, knowing how jumpy Amelia tended to be about such things.

"Excuse me." he said as softly as he could, still not succeeding at preventing Amelia from nearly dropping the plate she was currently holding onto the floor and turning around with a shocked look on her face.

"Oh, it's you." she said, sighing in relief as he recognized the boy's face, "You were with Zachary and the others, um...your name is Rai, right?"

Rai nodded, unable to resist smiling as he noticed that the trainee was peering hopefully behind him, as if expecting to see someone else, although at the same time there was a certain look of fear in her eyes, just in case there would be more of the group about than she had bargained for, "That's right." he replied, "You wouldn't have happened to see a Vulpix around here, would you?"

Amelia shook her head, "Um...no, no I haven't." she said, giving him a quizzical look, "Is-is something wrong?"

Rai bit his lip. Not here? he thought for himself, But I told him... "Oh, it's...nothing." he replied, "Just a little complication it's all. Sorry to bother you." he turned to leave.

"Umm...okay then." Amelia replied, dutifully accepting the lie as always, that kind of guilability had to be some kind of crime "Tell Zachary I said 'hi'!" she called after him.

The boy couldn't resist cracking a smile. "I will!" he called back, walking out of the kitchen, and the pok?mon center, until he managed to make his way to the exit, at which point he broke of into a full run, heading towards the place where he had seen the Vulpix last, right outside the factory. Perhaps he had returned there? It was a long shot, but at the moment, Rai didn't really have anything else to go by.

Innocent Children's Day?We only celebrate Chinese New Year at this time.^^;;
Anyway,all my cousins are in Hong Kong and LA.x_X

Ic-

Jena turned to Ryne and Cascade for their opinions,whether to follow Maxie or not.Ralts and Mudkip shrugged back instead.The girl sweatdropped,before realising that something was tapping her shoulder.

{Yoo should go after zem'!Yoo could proteec zem' if zey gett into trouble!}Tania lifted her head from pecking the Coordinator's shoulder.The Tailow held it high,proud of herself for thinking up such a good plan.Jena raised an eyebrow,all that was heard was "Tailow,tai!Tai,tai!"The Flying type frowned,why'd the girl have to go and spoil the moment?

{Yoo,go,after,zem'!}Tania was getting a tad bit irritated,waving her wings round,pointing off in the direction where Maxie,Fang and Kaika ran off.

"Eh?Why.."the human was confused by the fact that she understood what the Tailow meant,they movement of her wings didn't mean nothing now,did they?As Kayley stated she would stay with Zachary and Raven,the Tailow on her shoulder let out a laugh of triumph.

{See?Keylee shall stay back too prozect' Zackeree!Yoo go an' help Maxee!}she gestured to Kayley,then back to where Maxie had run off.

"I'll just end up messing everything up."Jena gave up on trying to logicly explain why she understood Tania,telling the bird with a neutral tone of voice.Which was true,she'd end up tripping over something and spoil everything,yes.

{Aw!Come one Jena!You go and Ryne'll stay here with Messa and Fishy,yes?}Cascade kipped brightly,leaping infront of the girl and wagging his tail.{I'll follow because you need me,yes?}

{Cassy,you shouldn't go off giving pokemon responsibilities like that.But,I agree.Jena should go.}Ryne hugged her trainer's leg,before tugging on the girl's skirt.

"Eh,I'm not going,and you can't make me."Jena folded her arms like a little brat who wouldn't take orders.Still,she was rather worried for Rai,what could've happened to him?The Coordinator bit her fingernails,before turning to Kayley.

"I'm going,Ryne'll stay here and,eh,watch out for you guys.."she sighed in defeat,forcefully grabbing her Mudkip by the paw into her arms.

---

{This way!Turn left there!}Cascade pointed in various directions with one blue paw,the fin on his head swaying back and forth.It was enjoyable,being able to order his trainer around.The Mud fish let out a small chuckle as Jena stopped near a clearing plant.He nearly choked as the girl tightened her grip on his neck upon seeing Maxie,Fang and Kaika confronted by a scary looking man.She leaned against the fence and listened in to what the man was asking Maxie.

{Go!Help zem'!}Tania didn't like the look of that dude.And he was bald to begin with.The Coordinator just gulped,she had to help Maxie.Besides,had the girl not said any kind of help would be appreciated?Yes,that would be a good reason if she ended up doing somthing wrong!

"We're just here to look for a friend.Eh,we didn't do anything!Don't just jump to conclusions like that!"Jena walked towards them,stopping beside Maxie to glare at the guardsman.She instantly regretted including herself using 'we'.

"Hmm.. well, I guess we'll have to climb this thing, get-"
she broke off, hearing voices from the other side of the fence. As they rounded up their discussion and trotted over, Maxie already had an excuse lined up in her head. She couldn't do maths, or read, but when it came to excuses she was really on the ball.

Maxie blinked.
Jena had appeared out of no where, and she was already making a big pig's ear of it. Maxie cringed, and slung one arm over Jena's shoulder. If Jena said a friend, well, that would get Rai in trouble. There was bound to be surveillence inside. Still, Jena had meant well.
"Yeah, our friend, he's a zubat. He got scared by this boy, and flew off, we think he came in here." she said, putting on her highest, softest, girliest voice. "You wouldn't have happened to see him, would you sir?" she gave the guard a sorrowful look. This whole act probably would have worked better if she was blonde, slender, and garbed in a skirt, but that couldn't be helped. In her baggy dungerees, she was hardly going to persuade this man on looks alone.
Self-conciously, he held her gloved hands behind her back. They were the easiest way of recognising her, other than Fang, and she didn't really want her police record to get any worse.

OOC: Like, yay for Chinese New Year! ^0^ Anyways, check thy e-mail, Yibber. *Pokes* There's something there.

IC:

The pompous man lifted an eyebrow at Jena's exclamation, now turning to face the other girl instead, "Just looking for a friend, eh?" he asked sceptically, "A likely story! Now what if I said that you two ladies just came back down here to disrupt our investigation, hmmm?" he leant closer to Jena, letting out a breath that smellt quite a bit like garlic, "The guard here was adamant about there being two perpetrators, and as it just happens I see two suspect individuals here, quite the coincidence, wouldn't you agree?"

"But sir-" the guardsman protested, "There's no way those skinny little girls could have knocked me out like that! Besides, that one guy's voice was definitely-"

"Silence!" the pompous looking one interrupted, raising a hand warningly, "You are obstructing my investigation." he turned back to Maxie, listening to her little act, "A Zubat you say?" he asked, "Ah-hah! Definitely a pok?mon of shady character! No doubt an accomplice in your little scheme, eh? And there's no point in trying to pull that 'sad little miss' act on me! I'll have you know that I am well versed in the Schoffhausen method of lie detection!"

Titan actually e-mailed me?!o.O

XD

Anyway,the bes thingy bou Chinese New Year is that we get funny foods to eat.Like,rice dumplings!Yey for rice dumplings!Oh,and red packets loaded with cash,mwahah!

Too bad my mother always takes the red packet money from me,so I can't use it.Me granparents from Hong Kong are real generous too!Giving like..200 hongkong dollars.Each.^^
And before anyone starts slapping me around for being conceited about food and money.I get to see my family together.I've no relatives in Singapore,so tis very happy to be able to see them.^0^

I could so make Jena do something stupid right now.XD

Ic-

"A Zubat?Eh?"Jena was utterly dumbfounded,Maxie had placed one arm over her shoulder and was now talking in this funny voice.What exactly was going on?

"Yeah,anyone,why'd I want to hit you when I could easily take you down?"the girl mentally shrugged, and decided to play along trying her best to sound brave when the Guardsman turned to her.His breath was evil,even worse than those of a shoesalesman.

{Boo to you!We're only looking for Rai,yes!}Cascade stuck his tougue out to the mean man,coughing at the smell of garlic.

{Oooh!I feel faint!}Tania covered her beak with one wing.

{ooc| ooo, chinese new year, that's cool! We had chinese food last night.}

"Don't be so predjuced, Zubats are very loyal, cute and intelligent creatures!" she spat, and clenched her fists.
"Look at this logically. This is a cleaning plant. We have no reason to break in, other than to look for our pokemon. Can't you just...?" she looked to Jena for support.
The girl, however, was far too busy worsening their situation.
"Fang flew away, remember? Sorry, my friend has memory problems!"

Meanwhile, Fang was busy circling the building. He had sent sonar waves in all directions, but there was no sign of Rai. The boyhad disappeared into thin air, or... The zubat paused. He had just noticed some footprints in the mud. Leading outwards. They could belong to anyone, he told himself. Still, he beat his wings and fluttered back to Maxie.

He was halfway there when he noticed two guards by Maxie - and Jena. Fang did a doubletake. It was definetly Jena. He flew down, and perched on the wire fence above Maxie.
She glanced up, sensing him above her, and grinned. "See? we were looking for my zubat~! He's back now."
Fang leapt onto Maxie's gloved hand, winding his tails around her finger.
The problem was, bathed in shadows as they were, Maxie and Fang now looked stirkingly similar to the wanted poster at the station...

"And mighty conveniently he came!" the man declared as Fang decided to join his trainer, "Almost as if it had been worked out in advance." he cast a glance at Jena and her pok?mon again, noting their expressions, "And quit that grimacing you disrespectfull louts!" he added, breathing another cloud of garlic smell into their faces, "You obviously seem to have some kind of problem with authority figures...hardly unusual for girls of that foolish age." he began circling around Jena and Maxie, "Are you feeling rebellious...by any chance? Rebellious enough to damage public property perhaps?" there was a definitely accusing tone in his voice again as he paused, sniffing indignantly. "Very well, for now you shall have the benefit of the doubt. Run along, but don't forget..." he leaned closer to both of them, apparently completely oblivious to how conspicious Maxie now looked, odds were that he hadn't even looked at the poster, "...you have made a dangerous enemy here today. I'll be watching you..." he let out one last, large whiff of garlic-sceneted breath before turning around, "Come on you!" he called to the guardsman, "We have better things to do than waste time on interviewing these shameless louts!"

As both of them proceeded to walk away, Kaika, who had been covering silence out of fear for the tall man with the projecting voice and stinky breath now finally relaxed, heaving a sigh of relief and casting a glance across his surroundings, only to spot...

{Rai!} the little Vulpix squealed, dashing of down the street where the boy was approaching at an equally fast pace.

"Eh,well thats all very fine and good.And I'm not rebellious!"Jena frowned,half still angry at the Guardsman for accusing her and Maxie.Though,the other half seemed to feel a little lighter,in all that fuss of talking back,some of the supressed feelings she had kept underwraps(or so she thought) had managed to get out.Now the girl seemed a great deal better,even though she knew that they had just gotten away from a very bad end.
Now that she noticed at,Maxie and Fang seemed oddly familiar,like she had seen them before,not in person,perhaps in a picture..

"Eh Maxie,you seem familiar.Know Zhena the gym leader?-meep!"the girl covered her mouth with both hands.Looked like she had too much of her negative feelings out,she had to learn how to stop spouting the truth someday.

Thank Feebas,it seemed that Kaika had found something,hopefully Maxie would follow the Vulpix and forget about what she had just said.

"Hey,the Vulpix found something!"Jena smiled,running after the Fire type.Tania had to dig her talons tighter onto the material of the Coordinator's shirt just to make sure she wouldn't fly off.

{Yay!Rai!!}Cascade held his paws up in the spur of the moment.

{ooc| I love Sundays. My friend randomly came round and gave me a poster so we spent like... a hour in my room making room for it. I have too much crap on my wall. She convinced me to take down my Buffy poster (nooooo~! It had spike on it! Sexy spike!) and then we moved my Kingdom Hearts Poster over, and loads of my paintings got moved to my wardrobe, and it was very hard work... xD There's barely an inch of paint showing anywhere. All the colours clash too. Fwah.
Then we came downstairs and I drew on the pc while she told me aaaaaaall about her boyfriend and it was very interesting.}

Maxie laughed, as Jena squeaked and sapped a hand over her mouth. "No, I've never met Zhena... Is she a friend of yours...? And..." she laughed again, "how do you mean 'I look familiar'? I've known you for two days now Jena!"
Fang chuckled under his breath.
{At least that guard's gone. We blatently didn't break in, I mean, who does he think we are? Common vandals? He- hey, where's Kaika going?} The bat jabbed a wing tip after the fox. While Maxie strained her eyes, Fang's ears twitched frantically. {Maxie, it's Rai!}
"Well, so it is..." Maxie murmured under her breath.
{Aren't you glad? You were really worried...}
Maxie didn't answer. Rai looked...well, different. Dressed all in dark clothes, they cut him a striking figure. He looked... older, fiercer, and very important. Maxie averted her eyes, and stared at her filfthy trainers instead.

{Rai!} Kaika repeated, lunging straight at the boy who staggered slightly under the sudden increase of weight but managed to catch the little fox and keep them both upright, hugging the fire type to his chest.

"Vulpix, there you are." he replied, stroking the fox pok?mon's furr, "I thought I told you to go to the pok?mon center."

{Kaika is sorry...} the fox pok?mon replied apologetically, {But the city bes so big, him bes gettings all lost and-}

Rai smiled at the Vulpix's explanation, not understanding a word of it but realizing the urgency behind his words, "It's allright." he replied, "I was just worried that you'd gotten into trouble. But really, we shouldn't be standing around here, it might seem...conspicious." he lifted his gaze away from the Vulpix in his arms, finally noticing Jena and Maxie and experiencing a sudden sinking feeling as he realized that he owed his friends and explanation, and that he should give it now, but didn't have the words with which to express himself.

"Hi." he started, slowly walking over to the two, "I think I've got some explaining to do..."

Last edited:
"Yes, you have!" Maxie snapped, putting her hands on her hips, "What on earth were you thinking, just running off? You could have got kidnapped or mugged, or..." she paused for a second. What on earth am I talking about? Maxie took a deep breath. "And leaving your vulpix to find his own way home, do you know how irresponsible that is? He could have got stolen, or eaten, or he could have fallen down a hole and got stuck and no one would know, and-" Maxie sniffed loudly, "-And you stopped to take a bloody bath, I can still smell the pokemon center's lavender shampoo on you!"

{That means she's glad to see him.} Fang told the little fox, grinning. {Maxie has strange ways of showing things.}
"Sh'up, Fang."

Maxie grabbed Jena's hand, and began to stroll in the opposite direction. "Come on, then, you can explain while we walk away." she told Rai.

{ooc| Maxie's got her biatch hat on.}

Meh, I guess it would be nice if I posted an IC, but I feel like waiting for LA.. >.<

But yeah. Go Chinese New Year. :O

Jena let out a small laugh as Maxie commented on Rai's new clothes and the fact that he had a bath.Yes,well,he did look a tad smarter in clean clothes.

"Eh,you make bathing sound like a bad thing."the girl said,infact,she probably needed a good wash as well.Getting sick and feeling dirty wouldn't be a good thing now would it?She'd hopefully remember about doing that in the Pokemon center they could get to.Oh,but Maxie was still correct on what she had said.

"Yeah!You had us worried back there!Eh,using mugged and kidnapped might be a overusage.But next time you should,tell us where you're getting off to.So that,eh,we wouldn't need to worr-"Jena would have continued if not for the fact that Maxie had grabbed her hand and started back towards the direction where they had come from.She gave a small nod and a weak smile to the girl,letting herself being pulled along,afraid to go against her.

{Oh!Maxie had a strange way of showing her feelings,yes?Its okay.Sometimes Jena's mother does that too!Which makes Jena does that sometimes,no?But,I think that Maxie does it better!}Cascade grinned at Fang's statement,not really having anything else to comment on.Tania on the overhand peered curiously over Jena's shoulder,shyly listening in to the pokemon's conversation.

Rai remained quiet as Maxie began scolding him. Granted, all of those accusations were true, and although he felt like there was a defense for each one of his actions he knew they would all sound completely stupid and selfish if he tried to voice them; how could he get Maxie to understand how essential it was for his progress in the search for Kaika that he washed of the dirt and changed his clothes first? Or to understand that he had considered risking Kaika to go out alone rather than letting the Vulpix get caught by security guards? Still, from despite the harsh words she was sending his way, Rai couldn't help noticing that Maxie did seem to have been honestly concerned for his well being, indeed, there seemed to be something distinctly Ashuraish about her words, the sentiment behind them seeming to be quite far from their actual meaning.

Jena on the other hand expressed her feelings on the matter far more plainly, admitting that although the thought of Rai getting mugged or kidnapped was maybe a tad exaggerated, she had still been worried about him too.

"I know..." he replied to Maxie's accusations, nodding, "I know, and I'm sorry. But I did what I thought best at the time..." he took a pause, Maxie already seizing on the opportunity to grab Jena by the arm and start hauling her with her, stating that he could explain on the way, "Yes, maybe it's best if I start at the beginning." Rai said, nodding, "First off, the reason I left is because of this person I saw, Harlan...he...well, I've had dealings with him in the past and suffice to say that we're not exactly the best of friends." the boy took a pause, "Well, that would be an understatement." he admitted, "At any rate, when he takes it as his job to do something then he tends to do it, and doesn't care who gets in the way. I just didn't want to get any of you involved in it..." he sighed, "I'm sorry, I should have told you about Harlan when we started of the journey but I didn't think he would bother with me. I guess I was wrong..." Rai trailed of, feeling a slight sting of guilt. He hadn't exactly lied at any point, but he hadn't really told the truth either...well, that was in the best interest of both Maxie and Jena, so he told himself, even though they would probably not see it that way...

Meanwhile, Kaika listened to Fang's explanation, smiling shyly, {That bes worry?} he asked, tilting his head, {Ohh, human emotions be so very strange, they bes confusings poor Kaika's mind. But as long as everyone bes happy then it bes okay, right?}

"Anyhow, concerning my little visit to the cleaning plant..." Rai continued, "I only did that because there was a pok?mon in danger. It was a Dratini, a small one who had gotten sucked into the machinery from the river. I saw it go in and just couldn't walk past without helping, so I..." he took a pause, soon realizing that there wasn't really much of a chance of softening his actions, "I broke in." he concluded, "Went right over the fence and into the facility with Ashu for help, I didn't have a pok?ball to return Vulpix into and I didn't want him to get into trouble in case I was caught so that's why I told him to go wait for me at the pok?mon center. I don't think anyone saw me at the facility, though." he added before anyone could comment on that, "We managed to bypass the guards without any hassle. And once we got inside..." a slight frown worked its way on to his face, "We noticed that the security cameras had been turned off for some reason. I didn't think too much of it at the time, though, if anything it made it easier for me and Ashu. Although in retrospect, it does seem rather suspicious..." he shrugged, "Anyway, we got there just in time, and managed to save the Dratini before it ended up in the real machinery. The only problem was that we had to sacrifice one of the smaller support beams to do so...but it shouldn't have caused too much damage to the plant, I've heard they build a lot more of those things than what's necessary to keep the building up in case one or more of them fails." that was about all the excuse he was prepared to give on the subject so he moved on, all the time walking alongside the two girls, "Well, after the Dratini was secure I took her back out with me and went to release her in the river. That's when I got this..." he gestured towards the mysterious stone-like object attached to the silver chain around his neck, a section of the chain still visible inside it "I guess it was her way of saying thanks. Anyhow, after that, I went to the pok?mon center to ask if anyone had seen Vulpix around but they just refused to acknowledge my questions when I was as dirty as I was so I went to take a bath and changed my clothes, then I ran into Amelia who told me that there was no Vulpix around so I went out into the streets to look for him, and that..." he concluded, "Is how I ended up here."

The boy fell silent, awaiting the others' reaction to his story. It was all true, even if some of the more peculiar and absurd parts had been edited out. But what did that matter? It's not like he had neglected anything essential. He still dreaded the reactions to come however, unsure of how his companions would react to his little break in, done for a noble cause though it was.

{ooc| my keyboard's working again, but it's being all...suckish and not responding properly. My Dad says we don't need a new one. I say we do. I also said he was bleeping retard. I am now grounded until thursday. I'm not meant to be on the pc, but whatever. *rebellious face*}

Maxie stopped, let go of Jena, and eyed him carefully. Certainly, these excuses made sense, but.... there were holes.
"This Harlan guy... is he like, a family enemy or what? Surely it would be better to get inside the pokemon center, where there's all sorts of security, than go charging off into the wilderness?"
Maybe... she thought eagerly, Harlan's the guy we've been looking out for! Maybe we can get Sephy back! Maxie shook her head. I mustn't get my hopes up. That man.. the man with the sneasels, he had made it sound like she was looking for a friend of Rai's. This 'Harlan' definetly wasn't a friend.

Maxie paused, suddenly realising how rude she was being.
"I guess you left the vulpic behind for a reason... Oh, and Fang says his name is... Kaika. Or something...And, I'm sorry if I hurt you, Jena. And..." she paused, not really knowing what else to say.

"Eh,I can take that excuse."Jena shurgged after Rai finished his explanation.Unlike Maxie,she thought it was perfectly alright in every single way.Well,not everyway.Now that the girl had let go of her hand,she could talk properly.

"No,you didn't hurt me,Maxie.Don't worry about it.Oh,and hey,Kaika"Jena shook her hands as the girl with the Zubat perched on her shoulder apologised.She then smiled at the Vulpix in Rai's arms as Maxie told them his name.

"Anyway,I think what you did was quite,eh,what's the word?Brave I guess.Saving that poor Dratini."the Coordinator couldn't find the right word to place her feelings at that particular point of time.

"Still,you could've gotten yourself hurt.I mean,cutting down a support beam?Eh,even with the strength of a Scyther I doubt that the chances of you getting knocked out by it wouldn't be zero,now would it?"she folded her arms,deeply however,the girl did indeed think that it was a great thing to do.Saving a Dratini.She didn't even know that such rare species could survive here in the harsh water.Ooh,and evil Cleaning plants.

"Sure you didn't get hurt or anything?"she added,just to make sure.

OOC: *finally dragged herself here* Heh heh, anyway, sorry to hold up the RP. ^-^;; I usually need time to recover from big, bad migraines. >.< Anyway:

Zachary
===========

A short time after Zachary had given the cue to begin the battle, he looked behind him to notice that the little Vulpix that Rai had been taking care of had returned, looking quite scared and upset. Maxie and Jena left with it, and Zachary was curious as well, but it didn't look like he had much choice of ending the battle over that. Not to mention, that would make him look very cowardly.

However, Zachary hadn't exactly made the best choices for his Zigzagoon's first attack. Luka had kicked up sand and dirt with her nose and front paws aimed right at the Absol, Nundu, who had begun to spin around her head and created a small tornado-like wind around herself. This had made it very difficult for the dirt and sand to penatrate for the attack to take effect, and even bounced some of it back to Luka. Caught off-guard by the Absol's strength in its Swords Dance, Luka felt dirt pelt her coat.

Ron was having a better time with his attack though, stopping the Murkrow's Calm Mind in its beginning by leaping up to where the bird pokemon hovered and smashing his steel helmet into it's breast.

{Caw...!} Augurey spat, being knocked to the ground. It glared at Ron, and then looked for a moment to its trainer.

"Good Ron, now go for a Harden," Zachary suggested, trying to think of a way to protect Ron against any attack that Raven was planning to use.

"Forget the Calm Mind Augurey go for a Taunt!" Raven hissed, clearly angry that her Murkrow's attack had failed, "And Nundu use Toxic on that stupid Zigzagoon!"

Augurey the Murkrow smiled at Ron, who was now lower than him after the bird had flown a bit higher. {You may think you're hot stuff you pathetic little Aron, but you're nothing compared to us. We've been training for much longer than you, are better pokemon species, and we have a trainer that isn't a clumsy oaf.} The bird pokemon always gained insight into people's minds a bit when he used this attack, so he was easily able to pick up on the fact that Zachary was typically clumsy.

{Shut up! Just because Zachary's a little clumsy doesn't mean that--,} began Ron, but Zachary cut him off.

"Ron don't get angry! I don't care what he's saying to you; you are not to get angry about it! That's how the spell of the attack works!" Zachary sais smartly, hoping he had said it in time.

The Murkrow went on though, {Wasn't your trainer once in a gang? Why'd he leave? Ah, I see, he wasn't brave enough, or strong enough to take it, was he? He looks like the kind of weak person that joined just to get girls or look cool or feel special and then whimped out when it came to the hard stuff.}

{He...,} Ron said in a forced calm voice, but couldn't take it anymore for the spell had already worked its magic on him, {He did not!! Take this you lame excuse for a pokemon!} He tried to swipe at the hovering bird with a Metal Claw attack and Zachary yelled to him.

"Ron! Ron Harden! You were supposed to... oh... I guess I'll have to work without it then," he said, glancing at the now smirking girl across from him. However Ron ignored him, and continued attempting to swipe at the bird that he couldn't reach.

{Bring it on!} Luka had said to Nundu, knowing exactly what to do with this Toxic attack. She was not about to be poisoned, and she had escaped wild pokemon's Toxic attacks the very same way before.

"Luka?" Zachary said, "You have an idea?"

{Yeah, so lemme show ya',} she said with a smile, and closed her eyes in wait for Nundu's poison to strike her.

Zachary blinked. He hadn't ever really understood his newest pokemon that well before, but right then was very clear to him. He smiled a bit. Perhaps this battle was a good idea after all.

Nundu curled her claws and leap toward the waiting Luka. Her claws were lightly glowing a soft purple that was no doubt the source of the toxic poison she was about to spread to Luka. As soon as the Absol moved to swipe Luka with her claws, Luka's outline blurred for a quick moment, and the Zigzagoon remained standing, the claws burrying themselves into Luka's fur. Nundu's eyes widened though, and she leapt back after the swipe, looking frustrated.

"Huh...? I don't get it," Zachary said with a frown, "Why didn't Luka move or flinch or anything?"

Ron was still too clouded with anger and continuing to swipe feebly at the now laughing Augurey to answer.

Luka's voice came from beside Zachary's feet, {I used Substitute. A little trick that was very handy to know where I came from. It confuses opponents into thinking that you are that copy. That Murkrow's not the only one with a mind-clouding spell. Though... it won't last for long. So hurry up and think!}

"Right...," Zachary responded, watching the bewildered Nundu stare at the substitute, and thinking to himself about what to do.

OOC: Note... I tried to go for more of a spell-like view of Taunt and Substitute. I always thought it silly that a pokemon wouldn't just forego the obvious fake and attack the real pokemon that had made it. *shrugs* Eh, just my take on it.

OOC: Whoa Charon, you and your use of language...*Wags finger dissaprovingly* Nah, just kidding. XD

Seriously though, that grounding thing sucks. I agree with Yibber, maintaining stealth in your computer usage should definitely be a priority. Because no-one wants that punishment of yours to be extended. I'm lucky my parents are too soft to ever shut me away from the computer for any longer period of time (Unless it's a family trip), although it could partially be because I'm such a saintly person that I hardly ever swear IRL, or at least I don't use the really bad words. Anyways, good luck on rebelling against the system and all. I do agree that it sounds like you need a new keyboard.

"Yes, I'm sure." Rai replied, smiling in relief as he noticed that Jena at least didn't seem to think any worse of him for what he did, if anything, she sounded impressed, and she had called him 'brave', the boy felt a nice little warm fuzzy feeling at this comment, 'brave' wasn't usually an adjective associated with him, reckless and foolhardy were more like it. "I'm fine.." he replied "Just got a little dirty, that's all. Oh, and there was hardly any risk with the support beam, Ashu made the cuts deeper on the side that leant towards the water and even gave it a little nudgem so it would have taken quite a mircale for it to fall in the opposite direction. It wasn't really much different from some of the training drills we've been through." at Maxie's questions about Harlan however, the boy fell silent for a moment, attempting to figure out how to give a satisfactory reply without revealing the secret he wanted to hide so badly.

"There's the problem..." Rai replied at last, sighing, "He's not a family enemy, he's...well, more of a family aquaintace, I guess, one of mother's most important bussiness partners." the boy frowned, "So in short, she values his opinion over mine, and since Harlan is here he's obviously looking for me, which means that he's probably managed to persuade mother into goodness knows what. They are things I don't want to be involved in though, that much is sure." the boy took a pause, "Yes, I suppose hiding in the pok?mon center would have been more logical, but at the moment my prime concern was to get him as far as possible from me, and all of you...like I said, Harlan is not the kind of person you'd want to have dealings with."

The boy fell silent, until Maxie introduced the Vulpix, "Kaika?" he repeated, turning his gaze to the Vulpix, "Is that your name, Kaika?"

The fox pok?mon nodded, smiling as the boy finally learned his real name, {Yes, Kaika bes the name of I.} he replied, {And hi to you too.} he added at Jena's comment.

"Allright, I'll remember that from now." Rai replied, stroking the Vulpix's head affectionately, "Thank you Maxie, oh, and Fang too."

The message that Fishy had relayed to her was now the last thing on Kayley's mind as she watched the battle wage on. It seemed to be getting a bit more exciting as it drew onwards, but nonetheless Kayley make sure to take advantage of a new oppurtunity, slowly inching away from the Grimer near her feet, mostly to make sure that she'd stay as clean as possible while she could.

Although, knowing her luck, What-A-Mess would probably disregard this and go ahead and get her dirty anyways, or perhaps some other thing that she wasn't aware of.

Fishy, however, seemed to be showing a lot more excitement now that the battlers were making more moves, his eyes twinkling as he, too, awed at the Substitute Luka had made, obviously not figuring that it was merely a copy, much like Nundu had fallen for the spell.

{This is a mighty fine way to pass the time, eh?} Fishy said aloud, probably towards the Pokemon on the ground nearest Kayley, tilting his head from side to side as he continued viewing the battle.

Maxie grinned at Jena's comment. "I guess you were a bit brave... but you were still reckless and foolhardy!" she added, just in case Rai dared forget the seriousness of what he had done. Her thoughts tocuhed on the Mystic Water. Was it valuable? Could she sell it? It certainly looked pretty- Maxie cut her own thoguhts short. Rai is my friend. I don't steal from him. "...and that Dratini was very kind to give you that...shiny thing..."

She scratched her chin absently, only for jolts of pain to shoot down her fingers. She ignored it. "We need to go find Zack, Kayley and Fliss." the girl announced, and Fang gave a soft screech of agreement.

The zubat gave Kaika a shy grin. {Now your trainer knows your name, you're real partners!}
