3rd Gen Simple Questions (Ask Questions Here)

How many apprentices are there? And so far I had eleven and two are repeats.

One of the strangest simple questions asked here. Thanks Josh. LOL

haha, I was pretty sure it was 'sped', but that's one of those words that just doesn't look right. The funniest thing is that I'm a college guy; I should know these things! *slaps forehead*

I can name practically every Pokemon and their type... but I can't tell you the past tense of "speed". Oy vey!

Ok thankyou. I already got a timid from the guy i traded with, but now I need a modest.

If you have Emerald, you can make things a whole lot easier for yourself with an Everstone. Even without Emerald you can. Depending on which gender your Mr. Mime is...

If male: put it in the daycare along with a Ditto who is Modest (or Timid if you should want), and let the Ditto hold an Everstone. That gives a 50% chance the offspring will be the same nature as the Ditto.

If female: since the 50% nature rule only works with females or Dittos holding the Everstone, not too much you can do. Just keep breeding 'till you get the nature you want. Although I have tried a female-Ditto relationship with the Ditto having the nature I want is holding an Everstone, and the offspring seems to be that nature most... but that could just be coincidence.

But since Dittos are only found in Emerald, if you have R/S this entire rant has been useless. lol But no matter which game you have, letting the female hold an Everstone while breeding leaves the 50% chance of the offspring having the same nature. One of the two best tricks of the trade for breeding, the other being to have a Slugma in your party when hatching, and that cuts the number of steps in half.

Can you get Mew in this game?

Can anyone tell me whether DS Pokemon games (mainly D/P) can trade with people across the world? If you can, thats just cool...

DMJ

Wrong thread to ask that.

Can you get Mew in this game?

It's possible to find Mew in the game, you can locate it on the lost Faraway Island. However, there are only two options in achieving it. You first need tn Old Sea Chart, and the only way for you to obtain one is either going to a Nintendo Special Event (not much luck with this one at all), or you can cheat with a Gameshark.

i don't know if this is a simple question. i want to train a smeargle but, it won't learn any new moves, it already knows sketch once. Is theres some reason for this like, i have to use sketch and later it will learn sketch again or something?

Sketch is a move that copies permanently an opponent's move. It learns sketch every 10 moves from lvl 11 onwards.

so basically, fight poke's that has a move that you want (find them all out by fighting it with a stronger pokemon or weaker as the case may be). 0.o
now, i have 2 questions:

1: Can Smeargle learn Sketch from the Move Tutor in Fallarbor Town;

and 2: Can Smeargle Sketch.....Well, Sketch? Because if he can, then thats weird.

Which is the better pokemon to capture Latias or Latios?

Also can you capture Deoxys on Emerald and if so how?

1.Latios (the Blue one) is natually stronger but it's realy a question of attacks and colour.

2.Yes but you need the auora ticket which you can get from an advent or gameshark.

Yes, you can exchange a Heart Scale for your Smeargle to learn Sketch. Yes, you can Sketch the move Sketch, but that is absolutely retarded since it doesn't help you in any way.

One isn't "better", it mainly depends on how you play. If you want a straight up attacker, (which most novice trainers do) then Latios might seem the better choice. Personally, I choose Latias due to its better defenses. What happens is that Soul Dew + Calm Mind make it harder to KO than Latios while Soul Dew + Calm Mind + proper EV distribution make it hit hard enough to be just as effective as Latios.

The only way to catch Deoxys is to get to Birth Island. In order to get to Birth Island, you need the Aurora Ticket. The only way to get the Aurora Ticket is to cheat (no one likes a cheater), get one from Nintendo, from eBay, or from a friend.

Thats not really what i was asking. i know speargle learns sketch like, every 11 levels, but when smeargle passed lvl 21 he didnt learn it and he supposed to learn it at lvl 21 didnt and he learn it. is there some reason for this?

Are you trying to teach it Sketch more than once? Smeargle won't learn Sketch if it still hasn't used all the Sketches it has.

On an Emerald rom, how do you trade? And by that, I mean with yourself so stuff can evolve etc.

No.It says, "But it failed!"

This is like chrome_angel's question but when Smeargle learns its second Sketch and it already has another move besides Sketch(like the move it first Sketched), can it Sketch a new move? And does this also happen with its third and fourth Sketch?

Smeargle can Sketch until his 4 moves are filled. So he can Sketch ONLY 4 times.

Well since you said ROM, I'm gonna automatically assume here that you're using emulator. If not, meh.

Trading with yourself is the same as if you were trading normally, except that the game files you're using to trade are exactly the same. So load the same save file and trade the same Pokemon and you'll have traded without losing or gaining a pokemon on your file.

Use this if you dont know how to trade using emulators. Clicky
