5th Gen Simple Questions

Do Pokémon transfered from Gen IV retain their "met" location, or will they just show up as Sinnoh, Johto, Distant Land, etc. on the status screen?

Their stats screen will only show the region they originate from - however, in HGSS, even if you caught a Pokemon in the Kanto region, the Pokemon's stats screen will claim it was caught in Johto.

It just shows up as Sinnoh/Johto from what I've seen (I don't know about the Gen 3 Pokémon though). I'd like to know if you can still guarantee passing on IVs using the Power Items like in HG/SS. I'd imagine you can but I want to make sure.
Your correct they are guaranteed with the Power items like in HgSs :)

Hi there, quick question about the pokeshifter thing.

Assuming National Pokedex is obtained, it is possible to transfer Pokemon from games like Gen. IV to Black/White (one-way), but not the other way around, correct?

For instance, is there a way can I transfer a Riolu caught in Black to HGSS?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, you can only transfer Pokémon from 4th to 5th and not the other way around. It's a one way transfer like from the 3rd gen to the 4th gen.

How do I get the Pochama and Gureggru skins for my C-Gear? They're out until March 10th, so they should be available. How do I get them? They don't show up with I search for Wi-Fi gifts on my "Mystery Gift" option in my game (all that shows up is the current Zoroark gift). Do I have to have beaten a certain part of the game first? Do I have to do something on the Global Link site? (I have an account) I also want the upcoming Kanto starters skin for my Pokemon Zukan (Pokedex), so I'd like to know how to get skins and stuff.

Does anybody remember the lag in diamond and pearl? It slowed down battles and other events in the game and made grinding and random encounters a real pain. They fixed it in platinum and HG/SS.

Does anybody know if black and white will have lag too?

During my play through with White, I haven't really seen any lag at all.
A tiny bit of lag occurs rarely when you run into something, where the game pauses for a second, and then resumes to the battle sequence. That's really the only lag I've noticed.
Overall, the game runs smoothly for being so "busy" all the time.

Thanks for your answer.

I have a second question for this thread. How come some people already have the game when it hasn't been released yet? Is it the Japanese version?

Yep, and pirated "patched" copies, since Nintendo got wise and made it so you couldn't get experience but some smart people fixed that, and some of the ROMs are translated.

Don't ask for them on here though.

Thanks. And don't worry I won't ask. I already pre-ordered a legit copy of White. I was just curious how people got it.

One more quick question that I couldn't find an answer for anywhere (not even in this thread) is will there be pokemon from other regions in the game at any point? I read there aren't but is that only before the elite four or before a certain point in the game?

You'll be able to see past Pokemon after you beat the E4, N and Ghetsis, as well as getting the National Dex. You can also get the Kanto, Hoenn and Sinnoh fossils from a hiker in Spiral Mountain, but he'll only give out 1 random fossil per day.

Is it possible to have rematches? My Pokemon are not high level enough to beat the E4 even though I tried quite a few times already.

No, you can't. You can defeat the GameFreak and Cynthia, though. Also, in Sazanomi Bay, there is a vacation resort where you can battle some people each day.

I also recommend training in the Great Hall/Giant Hole/whatever they named it. The Pokemon in the double grass are level 60-65 and there are also Tabunne there.
