Hmmmmm. That goes against everything that I have heard. That is something I might test, but I doubt I could overcome the utter shame of losing to the pathetic AI.

Hey, I was wondering, does anyone know how/where to get a metal coat on Fire Red?

Denyed Bill At Cinnabar Can I Get To Islands?

Ok, heres what happened i was reading a walkthrough and right after i came out of blaine's gym bill approached me (obviously). I read the walkthrough it said i could still get to the islands if i denyed him and i was going for a quick time to beat the game so i said no. Now heres the problem i caught zapdos and started with bulbasaur now a venasaur and when i go to the first e4 person lorlei or something he lapras kicks both of their asses with ice beam so i went thinking o i'll go back and capture moltres in victory road then i read that they moved it so i said damn and i was reading it said it was on the first island or a mountain or something and i was wonder what was the way to get back to the islands after you say no to bill?

First of all, welcome to the forums

Second of all, we have a forum specifically for questions located here

Thirdly, yes you can still get to islands, head to Vermillion and Bill will be waiting for you, and you can head with the islands just like you would've if you agreed after Cinnabar

Actually, that is incorrect. If you say no to Bill he will wait in the Pokemon Center at Cinnabar Iskand for you, not Vermillion.

In Fire Red, does a pokemon that evolves in a trade or with evolutionary stones learn any moves by levelling up after it evolves?

While breeding a Nidoking with a Ditto is there any chance that the newly bred pokémon will be a Nidoran Female? (even though both sets of Nidoran appear to be genderless)

heeyy. i REALLY need the rainbow pass (to get to the other sevii islends), but i haven't caught sixty pokemon, and i wanna get the ruby and sapphire. question: CAN I GET THE RAINBOW PASS WITHOUT HAVING SIXTY POKEMON OR CHEATING? (;_;)

Nope, the problem is though you cannot go to the rainbow islands without the National DEX, this is because alot if Johto pokemon are there. So you'll have to catch 60 pokemon and talk to Oak then you can finish the Sevii Islands.

Is there anyway to use my DS so i can trade pokemon with another DS using FireRed cause my GBA Link cable dont work for DS and the wireless in the DS dosnt work with FireRed.

I finally beat the Elite 4, but try as I may, I can NOT manage to beat my rival Gary. I've got a Charizard (but actually my starter was Squirtle, I did some strategy and got all three by trading and starting over (I got Leaf Green so I was able to trade back and forth). Anyway, my Pokemon Team is this:

Level 52 Articuno
Level 56 Charizard
Level 52 Moltres
Level 52 Jolteon
Level 43 ElectraBuzz
Level 34 Slowbro

The moves that are just KILLING my team are the EarthQuake and Rock Tomb. I usually can handle at least his Pidgeot, but when I try to defeat his Arcanine, his flameblaster gets me. I only have 6 revives left and one Max Revive that usually when I keep starting over I use on Articuno (the icy legendary bird).

Is it possible to beat Gary with my team? I don't want to have to start all over again. I've got TMs like Overheat, Blizzard and Hail that I taught my Pokemon. (When I say start over, one I mean playing from the beginning & the other is just against Gary since I did save it before I went to battle him.

You have NO chance of getting a Nidoran-F from breeding Nidoking with Ditto. Why don't you catch one????

There is NO way to trade between two DS. The only way you will be able to trade is when you get DP and have completed the lame storyline, you can trade from DP in the DS slot and FRLG/RSE in the GBA slot. That is it.

Your mistake is mainly within your bad choice of Pokes in your team. TWO Fire-types, TWO Electric-types, and THREE Flying-types isn't a good idea, as you are seeing. Why did you choose Charizard over Blastoise or Venusaur, especially if you have Moltres???? Blastoise takes down Gary basically by itself, if you were smart enough to teach it Surf and Ice Beam. Here is how it is done:

Pidgeot: Thunderbolt/Ice Beam
Rhydon: Surf (Guaranteed OHKO)
Alakazam: Physical move (Earthquake/Drill Peck/Aerial Ace)
Gyarados: Thunderbolt (Guaranteed OHKO)
Arcanine: Earthquake/Surf
Venusaur: Ice Beam/Flamethrower

You have, unsuccessfully, used Articuno and Moltres, but where is the best Legendary bird, Zapdos? Zapdos and Blastoise rip through Gary without any trouble. Check it out:

Pidgeot: Zapdos Thunderbolt OHKO
Rhydon: Switch to Blastiose, Surf OHKO
Alakazam: Switch to Zapdos, Drill Peck OHKO
Gyarados: Thunderbolt OHKO
Arcanine: Switch to Blastoise, Surf 2HKO
Venusaur: Ice Beam 2HKO; Switch to Zapdos, Drill Peck 2HKO

Done. It is as easy as that. You can either keep trying to beat Gary with your subpar team, or you can white out and start over with some better choices. Your team:

Zapdos (Lorelei, Lance, Gary)
Blastoise (Bruno, Lance, Gary)
Alakazam/Kadabra (Bruno, Agatha)

I can't teach Ice Beam as that required winning enough coins @ the Game Corner in Celadon City. I'll allow myself to white out, heal the pokemon and trade back and get my Zapados & the Blastoise, but I'll keep Articuno because it already knows Ice Beam & I taught it Blizzard. In order to get Ice Beam the Pokemon either has to learn it OR you have to win coins @ the Celadon City Game Corner to get it.

I'll try your suggestions.

EDIT: Tried to update this about two hours ago, but the page wouldn't load right. The advice worked great! I'll remember what I used once I get to the Elite 4 on the Leaf Green. I won on the Fire Red, so now I can build up the group even stronger, then send them off to the Elite 4 on Leaf Green and beat them easier. Thanks!

You do know you can purchase coins at the Game Corner, right? 500 coins cost $10000. So, you can purchase as many Ice Beam/Thunderbolt/Flamethrower as you want for only $80000 each. If you were smart enough to get the Amulet Coin, and did the Nugget trick back in Cerulean (not to mention the Vs. Seeker), money should never be a problem for you.

BTW - Don't teach your Poke two attacking moves of the same type (i.e. Ice Beam AND Blizzard on Articuno). It is redundant and only prevents your Poke from being more versatile.
