    Do you use smiles in your posts?

    I don't, I find them rather annoying and it kinda annoys me when other people do :x

    I'm fine with these kinds: :x. :o, etc
    I don't like these: :nervous::embarrass:rambo: etc,

    I used to earlier, around when I first joined. But, I just prefer not to these days. However, it does not annoy me when other people use it. I just don't like the designs of the smileys. Especially the ':D' one. XD

    I use them! :P They're fun! ^_^ You just used one though? o_O I thought you didn't like them :S

    But yeah, I like how you can use them to convey emotions in post. But some people overkill, like a certain forums member who's made me kinda dislike this one >_> which I usually like.

    I use smilies as a way to express myself. To let others know if I'm happy, or sad. Sometimes if I'm sad, I don't use any, however. I don't use them a lot on the forums though, mainly just on msn. Just because there are no smilies in this post... doesn't mean I'm sad!

    I try to keep posts relatively professional-sounding (unless I'm posting in OT or PT). I use them frequently in VMs, though. Like Zebeedoo, I use them to express emotion in what I am saying.

    Smilies in the posts of others drive me crazy, so I have them disabled. If something annoys me, I assume it annoys everyone else. No smilies.

    I use text smileys all the time here. :D, XD, :P, o_0, -.-, ^_^, etc...

    I don't like the picture ones that are default to PC though, like :D, :P, :), :nervous:, :bandit:, etc...

    If I feel the need to be silly, then I'll use a smiley. Otherwise, if I'm trying to make a serious point, then I'd rather use proper wording to convey my views instead of relying on emoticons to do so. Oh, and picture smilies can go die.

    I use them almost as often as punctuation, a sentence just doesn't feel complete unless I put a smiley at the end of it. :P

    SEE? :o

    i think smilies are fantastic ingredients for spicing up ur sentence ;-)! i actually started using them to mock people who did, then using 'em just kinda became a habit :s

    I hate smileys, I have them disabled both here and on MSN. I love text-based smileys though! :DDDDD

    I used to abuse text smileys so much, almost every instant message or VM would contain some sort of smiley. Now, I don't ever use them unless it's in a mocking fashion. I'm not sure what caused the change, I guess I just got annoyed by how they're overused and just gradually stopped using them myself. I don't mind it when other people use them, as long as there isn't one every single sentence.

    As for the image smilies, I disable those.

    I like to use smileys quite a bit. Sometimes they're just necessary to get across what I mean and other times I just use them for fun. I never use image smileys though because for me they come off as annoying. Text smileys are the way to go. :D

    I do use those general smileys: :),:(,:p,;), and a few other, as they are really helpfull to poin out a joke, or show your current emotions....

    I use smilies, sometimes. Not a lot though.
    But I use the forum smilies (ie. :D) because the ones that look like >_> just annoy me.

    I disable smilies in text, but I use text based smilies quite often. I tend stay away from super mainstream stuff like :), :(, ;), XD, and ^_^.

    Smilies I tend to abuse are :x, :<, :>, ⊂(゚ヮ゚)⊃, :V, #(X '________'), and ;;.

    On my posts in the past I used to use smileys constantly, but as time passed by I just kept them to the level of using them in VMs or on my MSN with people that I know. Rarely I used them on my posts and I dislike the forum smiles, they annoy me so much, and it's the same for MSN so I disable them so I don't have to see them. The post just seems a bit untidy for me if I do use a smiley on them these days. I'm not sure why, though.

    Meh, I can give or take smileys. If I do include them it's usually just O:, ^^, :/ etc.

    I have no problem with other people using them either, so long as it's not excessive.

    I can't do image smilies (especially PC's!), but I'm a sucker for text smillies. The more excited I am, the more I put in. It's a rare post when I don't have some sort of smilie in it. That's when you can tell that I'm being pretty serious. ^^;

    ...see? XD;
