Yeah, this article's obviously in Finnish but I'm sure you have ways to translate it in your disposal, right? To summarize in any case, a researches in Finland found a molecule that, when sprayed to the nose, can interfere with the spike proteins of the COVID virus, therefore ensuring that it can't enter cells and ravage in your body. With effectiveness up to 8 hours, this could be a key to have at least some semblance of normality amidst this pandemic. What're your thoughts?

I can't really say anything about how effective of a tool it is, and chances are it probably needs more research time, but it kind of doesn't matter anyway.

Vaccines are something that we know works well against disease, and masks are an obvious precaution to use against something like covid-19, yet in a lot of places (the US being a big one), a significant portion of the population still won't get vaccinated and won't wear a mask. These same people won't take this new spray either (or be cool with the anti-covid pills that may be approved in the US in coming weeks/months), they're far more likely to go for whatever will be the next ivermectin.

I agree with Nah, it's sad there's people like that and it's looking like countries will have to make vaccination mandatory and stick to it.
I don't think the pandemic will end otherwise.

It won't, Covid has become endemic like the common cold and the flu. it's just going to be part of our lives now.

You need to be careful saying/thinking stuff like this. While we're heading in that direction for sure, COVID can still have severe long-term effects for people who have even a mild case. We shouldn't let ourselves become complacent when we're still not safe.

Oh don't get me wrong, I agree. What I'm saying is that we're looking at a modern world where face masks and gloves are a necessity for the foreseeable future. But complacency is the opposite of what I mean, I think we need to adjust to the new normal of having COVID in our lives permanently. Cautionary action should always be taken, not reduced.
