Soundtracks

I think Interstellar has some pretty good jams going for it.

With the aforementioned film, one scene in particular that comes to mind is the water planet scene. Can't begin to explain how fascinated I was to learn that every "tick" in the current soundtrack in the background represented about a single day passing on Earth. And when you realize that fact, and how often you hear these ticks, alongside the events taking place on the screen, it turned out to be one of those gripping-my-seat moments.

I could go for a bit about how important a soundtrack is to a film, and just how it can make it or break it at times.

But I'm pretty happy with this tidbit for now.

I dont think a good OST is necessary at all to the success of a media, and think there are countless examples of successful media with bad soundtracks.

BUT, I think a great soundtrack is a non-negotiable for an amazing piece of media. It really elevates it to the next level.

Anyway, this OST is amazing. Tim and Geoff Follin are amazing.

The Ecco games actually had such surreal, sick soundscapes
