Special Demo Version

No more demos please. They get datamined every time. Not to mention demos are pointless.

I agree with this. I'd rather not have a demo released because people are gonna datamine it and leak all the info of the game. I'd rather not have that happen again.

While this is fair, it could (should) be easily avoided. I don't want a demo version unless the changes are so drastic that people would need to understand what is new before the game releases so that they can know what to expect.

I don't want a demo version, because I would unavoidably play it, and lose some of the magic that a new pokemon game brings.

I know I could avoid playing it, but I'm being honest with myself, and I know that I lack the tremendous amount of willpower needed. :)

I don't think we will get a demo this time. There might be time for one but does anyone here want a repeat of what happened with ORAS and SM demo? I think playing the full game is more satisfying.

I think from a business standpoint, there are arguments both for and against the demo. On the one hand people are going to know what they're signing up for this time, given these will likely be more or less the same as SM in terms of content etc, so you don't really need a demo.

However, that is precisely why we need another demo version: so they have a chance to show the differences/draw people in with story teasers, and entice more people to buy the game. You can do that with trailers admittedly, but demos let you sample the game firsthand and are a much more effective marketing tool.

I don't think datamining is an issue on GF's radar...if it was, they would have fixed it with SM's demo. That's more of an issue amongst fans who don't want to be spoiled than it is one for GF...any publicity is good publicity.
