Just wondering if anyone here has done any speedruns of any game? If so, which ones and how well did you do?

I myself have started running Mega Man X and I can do 100% in 46:20.4 (WR is 36:26 by Caleb Hart) This is the vid if anyone is interested.

Also, if you want to race me on Speed Runs Live, send me an email at [email protected] and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Well that's myself. How about you guys? What awesome speedruns have you done?

Ages ago I attempted a speed run of FFX, but I always find myself getting distracted by minigames or the urge to run around aimlessly >< perhaps it's just not the right kind of game!

I did try a speed run of Super Mario Sunshine and did it in 4 hours and 10 minutes

Great job of completing MMX (my favorite game of all time) in such a nice time ;)

I have always been interested in speed running but I know i would get distracted and lose time on it. Love watching speed runners though. Some of the things they do in stuff like Mario 64 is crazy.

I'm impatient so that's always been the norm for me.

Also, I can only do about three levels before getting distracted.

FFX is dedinitely a harder game to run since there are so many minigames and whatnot. I ALWAYS get distracted with blitzball so I would never be able to run it myself lol.

Nice! I never have played much of Mario Sunshine. Eventually I will though.

Thank you! I know I am good enough for sub 45 if I don't get so many sloppy deaths lol. Boomer Kuwanger is the bane of my existence though. He always kills me. I also need to try a slightly altered route known as the waterless route which saves a few secs overall.

Mario 64 is the most popular to run or race on Speed Runs Live. Either 16 star, 70 star, or full 120 stars. The endless stair glitch is just crazy. Who knows how they figure some of these things out the first time.

Yeah I tend to go too fast on Mario 64 also and end up killing myself when there was absolutely no need for it lol.

I love watching speed runs. Seeing the tricks players do to exploit and control the game they're playing is such an amazing thing to witness. Sadly, I never tried to speed run a whole game, but I love trying to beat a level in platformers as fast as possible. I might do a speed run of Wario Land 4, my favorite game, but I still don't know the ins and outs of that game haha. Some bosses are random though to exploit (Catbat in particular) and I tend to (fortunately) forget all the secrets. I know several cool tricks though.

My favorite game to watch a speed run of is definitely any Donkey Kong Country game. DKC1 especially. While I'm at it, I'm gonna post this speed run I found yesterday that highlights how broken DK64 is, and it's an amazing speed run in general. (The rock trick had me dying, also the controller-throwing moment that I don't want to spoil.)

Well, I have yet to do a speedrun on games as a whole, but I did a speedrun of Emerald Hill Zone Act 1 from Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
    Spoiler:
    Sorry, I just had to.
    Spoiler:

Sonic 2's the only game that I've ever attempted doing a speedrun on, and my best time came in at around somewhere between 30-35 minutes, which is still twice as long as the record. I've also managed to beat Death Egg Zone in 51 seconds, which for the longest time, was just one second off the record (the current one is 43 seconds, I believe).

I don't really have the patience to give it a shot for any other games, simply because I don't know them off memory like I do Sonic 2. Doing a Pokemon one might be fun, though, but I suspect it would mostly focus on just using your starter.

All I speedrun is sonic Adventure DX and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 final mix.
